Letter from the Editor

Everynow and then, an issue comes together in a way that feels like a snapshot of exactly where this industry is headed. This is one of those issues.

On our cover this month is the Atlas ONE™, and if you haven't heard about it yet, you're about to. Unveiled at the 2026 PGA Show in Orlando, the Atlas ONE™ is the most ambitious product yet from a brand that has been quietly building toward something like this for years. The Atlas leadership team — veterans of Club Car, E-Z-GO, and MODZ — didn't set out to build another golf cart. They set out to reimagine what one could do. Sliding front seats, a patentpending split-fold second row, insulated rear fender storage, a 14-speaker WAVE audio system, and a 12.5-inch touchscreen command center. One cart, built for everything.

THE WOMEN WHO ARE DRIVING THIS INDUSTRY

Also in this issue, we're proud to publish a feature that has been a long time coming. "She Knows What She's Talking About" brings together six remarkable women from across the

golf cart industry for an honest, funny, and genuinely inspiring conversation about what it takes to succeed in a space that doesn't always make it easy. This conversation was born at the 2025 GolfCarting Expo, and we believe it will make an impact on everyone who reads it, not just the women in the room.

HONOR LSV: BUILT DIFFERENT

Our Company Profile this month takes you inside the Honor LSV manufacturing facility in Charleston, South Carolina. Founder Brian Plaisance has spent three and a half years building what he confidently says is the most American-made cart on the market — cut, bent, welded, painted, and shipped from under one roof. With their new Boulevard four-seater now in production and a dedicated owner app that pushes overthe-air updates like your iPhone, Honor is proving that pushing the envelope isn't just a tagline.

INDUSTRY NEWS WORTH YOUR ATTENTION

Rounding out this issue, we have three product stories that deserve a close look. MODZ has officially launched its longanticipated lithium battery lineup, developed with global industrial battery partner EKT and backed by the industry's first limited lifetime battery warranty. The full lineup is a strong debut for a brand that clearly came prepared.

DoorWorks has introduced a new Track-Style Enclosure specifically designed for the DACH Apollo, adding to a growing lineup that now covers many of the most popular carts on the market. And Gussi Italia from Syntec has unveiled its Murano Smart Wheel, bringing a new level of technology to the driver's hands.

The industry is moving fast. We're glad to be covering every mile of it.

Here's to a great summer ahead.

Drive Growth with a smarter lineup

MODZ ANNOUNCES NATIONWIDE AVAILABILITY OF ITS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED LITHIUM BATTERY LINE

MODZ is proud to announce that its long-awaited lithium battery lineup is now officially available and shipping to dealers across the United States.

First unveiled at the PGA Show in January in Orlando, Florida, MODZ lithium batteries quickly captured attention with their forward-thinking design and robust feature set. Developed in collaboration with EKT, a global leader in industrial lithium battery technology, the new lineup represents a significant step forward in performance, convenience, and reliability for the industry.

The MODZ lithium lineup includes 60Ah, 105Ah, and 175Ah models, offering solutions for a wide range of applications. The 105Ah and 175Ah batteries come equipped with a standard, built-in heater, ensuring consistent performance in varying climates. Each battery also features a UL-certified 20A onboard charger that can be mounted directly to the unit using MODZ’s patent-pending integrated charger mount, delivering a streamlined and efficient installation.

In addition to a remote state-of-charge meter with a builtin wake-up button, each MODZ battery features an integrated onboard display that provides real-time visibility into state of charge, power output, and system faults. For added peace of

mind, the system also includes an audible alarm to alert users if any issues arise or if the battery’s state of charge drops to a low level.

MODZ has also developed its own mobile app, now available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app puts charging control front and center, allowing users to easily set and manage charging schedules, while also providing remote access to state of charge, real-time performance data, and sleep mode settings. Additionally, customers can share battery logs directly with the MODZ engineering team through MODZ’s in-house developed and managed cloud infrastructure, enabling faster and more efficient troubleshooting.

Further setting the product apart, MODZ offers the industry’s first limited lifetime battery warranty. This coverage includes five years of free replacement, followed by prorated protection for as long as the original owner retains the battery.

With a combination of cutting-edge technology, thoughtful design, and unmatched warranty coverage, MODZ lithium batteries are poised to redefine expectations in the category.

Sets a New Standard for Modern Golf Carts

From humble beginnings to market-defining innovation, the story of Atlas Golf Carts is rooted in experience, ambition, and a deep understanding of the industry.

Atlas began as a vision from MODZ founder Aaron Gouldie. Having grown up working in his father’s golf cart dealership, Aaron developed an early passion for the business. What started as selling parts out of his garage on eBay eventually grew into MODZ, a brand now carried by over a thousand dealerships nationwide, with parts and accessories installed on more than half a million golf carts on the road today. From the beginning, his goal was not only to create a highly innovative aftermarket brand

that would push the industry forward, but also to build a golf cart brand just as innovative.

Recognizing the magnitude of that opportunity, Aaron assembled a leadership team with deep roots in the industry. He partnered with industry veterans and now co-CEOs Sanjay Kopay and Mark Messick, both of whom spent years helping guide and develop some of the most recognized OEM platforms during their time at Club Car and EZ-GO. He also brought on Jake Guinn, VP of Sales, who spent 14 years at EZ-GO working alongside Sanjay and Mark, as well as Landon Wisser, CMO, who helped build the MODZ brand into one of the most recognized names in aftermarket accessories.

Great products rarely happen by accident. They are the result of perspective, real-world experience, and a clear understanding of what customers need. Atlas was built with that philosophy at its core.

The Atlas ONE™ is the result of that vision.

When it debuted at the 2026 PGA Show in Orlando, the Atlas

ONE™ immediately turned heads. It wasn’t just another new model, it reflected the leadership team’s understanding of how golf carts are truly used today, and their commitment to pushing the category forward through meaningful innovation.

Blending refined design, elevated comfort, advanced technology, and everyday practicality, the Atlas ONE™ is built to stand apart. While it delivers all the essential features buyers expect, including full lighting, turn signals, and a clean automotive-inspired finish, its real impact comes from how it redefines what a golf cart can be.

ONE PLATFORM, ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

At its core, the Atlas ONE™ was designed as a single, do-it-all solution for modern personal transportation. Its most standout feature is its reimagined seating system. Instead of relying on a traditional rear-facing fold-down seat for added utility, the Atlas ONE takes a different approach. The front seats electronically slide forward, creating additional legroom while enabling the second forward-facing row to convert into a large, usable cargo area.

The patent-pending second-row design takes this even further with a split-folding configuration, allowing one side or both to be lowered depending on the situation. This level of flexibility is unmatched in the category.

The transition from passenger to cargo mode is quick and seamless, giving owners the freedom to adapt on the fly. Whether it’s hauling gear, loading up for a day at the beach, bringing along a pet, or running everyday errands, the Atlas ONE adjusts effortlessly to the task at hand.

As Atlas Chief Marketing Officer Landon Wisser explains, “The Atlas ONE delivers the utility of a traditional fourpassenger cart with a folding rear seat, combined with the modern advantages of a forward-facing design. It’s truly one cart that can handle it all.”

SMART STORAGE, THOUGHTFULLY INTEGRATED

The Atlas ONE extends its versatility beyond seating by rethinking storage throughout the vehicle.

At the rear, a redesigned tailgate introduces a more refined and functional approach. It can be locked or removed entirely,

and when raised, it creates a secure cargo area that blends seamlessly into the overall design.

Up front, the Atlas ONE includes a lockable front trunk along with additional secure storage within the dashboard. Together with the rear compartment, these features provide multiple protected spaces for personal items.

Atlas also introduces insulated rear fender storage, a patent-pending feature designed to keep contents protected from heat and the elements. Whether storing drinks, gear, or valuables, the Atlas ONE is equipped for real-world use.

ELEVATED COMFORT MEETS MODERN DESIGN

Utility doesn’t come at the expense of comfort. The Atlas ONE maintains the bold Atlas front-end design, a signature look that reflects confidence and modern styling.

Inside, an all-new seating system prioritizes ergonomics and long-term comfort. Enhanced lumbar support, refined contours, and integrated side armrests create a more enjoyable ride for both driver and passengers. Both rows also feature center folding armrests, a rare addition that further enhances

the experience.

The seating is finished in distressed marine-grade camel vinyl, offering a premium appearance while maintaining durability for outdoor environments. Every detail has been carefully considered, from materials to stitching, reinforcing Atlas’ focus on craftsmanship.

TECHNOLOGY THAT ENHANCES EVERY RIDE

Technology is central to the Atlas ONE experience.

ASSEMBLED IN THE USA WITH PURPOSE

A 12.5-inch touchscreen display serves as the command center, featuring a fully custom interface that allows drivers to monitor performance, adjust settings, and interact with the vehicle intuitively.

The audio experience sets a new benchmark. The Atlas ONE features a 14-speaker Atlas WAVE sound system, delivering exceptional clarity and depth. Rear passengers even have dedicated audio controls, allowing everyone on board to tailor their listening experience.

Wisser adds, “We believe the Atlas ONE delivers the highest fidelity audio experience available in the industry. It’s something you really must hear to appreciate.”

Every Atlas ONE is designed and assembled in Williston, South Carolina, where craftsmanship and attention to detail are at the forefront.

Each vehicle reflects a commitment to quality, combining globally sourced components with hands-on assembly and inspection. The result is a product built with intention, care, and pride.

A NEW CATEGORY LEADER

The Atlas ONE isn’t just a new release, it’s a redefinition of what a golf cart can be.

With unmatched flexibility, innovative storage, refined comfort, advanced technology, and industry-leading warranty coverage, it delivers an ownership experience that goes far beyond expectations.

One cart. Built for everything.

dealereducation

WWalk into any successful dealership and, on the surface, it looks the same as it always has. Inventory is strong. Teams are knowledgeable. Customers arrive with intent.

But underneath that, something more subtle is shifting.

For a long time, the sale itself was the moment that mattered most. The focus was on closing the deal, moving inventory, and getting the customer across the finish line. That was the win.

Today, that definition is becoming less complete. Because the most important outcome is no longer just whether the deal happens. It is whether the decision holds up. That distinction is easy to overlook, but it is becoming increasingly important.

A buyer who feels confident after the purchase behaves differently than one who does not.

They return. They refer. They speak about their experience with clarity rather than hesitation.

And that behavior is shaping the market in ways that are not always immediately visible.

Many of the conversations influencing future buyers are happening long after the transaction is complete. They are happening in neighborhoods, at campgrounds, in casual conversations, and across online communities where ownership is discussed in practical terms.

In those moments, the original sale is no longer the focus. The outcome is.

This creates a different kind of pressure on the business. Not pressure to sell more aggressively. Not pressure to compete on price. But pressure to ensure that what was sold continues to make sense over time.

The dealers who are performing well in this environment are not simply moving product. They are building decisions that last. They understand how the cart will actually be used. They align expectations early. They recognize where customers tend to

THE DEAL ISN’T THE WIN

misjudge their needs and help correct that before it becomes a problem later.

This is not about perfection. It is about durability. Because a deal that does not hold up creates friction that extends beyond a single transaction. It affects future conversations, future customers, and ultimately, the reputation of the business itself.

On the other hand, a decision that proves to be right over time has a compounding effect. It strengthens trust. It reduces resistance in future buyers. It creates a quiet form of momentum that is difficult to replicate through marketing alone.

This is where the industry is evolving.

The transaction still matters. The product still matters. But increasingly, the true measure of success is whether the customer would make the same decision again.

That is a higher bar.

And the dealers who consistently meet it are not just closing deals.

They are building decisions that hold up.

IWHY ME? THE ONE QUESTION EVERY GOLF CART OWNER SHOULD ASK BEFORE GOING LITHIUM

If you’re thinking about upgrading your golf cart to lithium, you’ve probably already asked the obvious questions: How fast will it go? How far will it run? How long will it last?

But there’s one question almost nobody asks — and it’s the one that matters most: “Why THIS battery?”

Because when it comes to lithium, what you don’t see is usually what matters most.

WHAT MOST PEOPLE MISS

Lithium has become the standard upgrade in the golf cart world. But as demand has grown, so has the number of options — and not all of them are built the same.

You will hear a lot of similar claims: “A-grade cells,” “High performance,” “Drop-in ready.” But those terms are often used loosely.

For example, there is a real difference between general “A-grade” cells and Automotive A-grade cells — the latter being built and tested to a higher standard for consistency, durability, and safety. That difference may not show up on a spec sheet, but it shows up over time in how the battery performs. And even beyond the cells, two batteries that look identical on paper can behave very differently in the real world.

THE DIFFERENCE SHOWS UP LATER

Most lithium batteries work fine at first.

The real test comes later: Hot summer days. Long rides under load. Lifted carts with larger tires. Stop-and-go use. Months or years down the road.

That’s when quality — or lack of it — starts to show.

THE SMART BUYER’S CHECKLIST

If you really want to understand what you’re buying, don’t just listen to claims. Ask for proof. Here are a few questions every customer (and dealer) should be comfortable asking:

1. SAFETY TESTING

• Can you show documented safety testing?

• Has the battery been tested for overcharge, short circuit, and thermal protection?

2. ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING

• Has this battery been tested in high heat and humidity?

• What happens in extreme temperatures like we see in Florida or Arizona?

3. WATER & DUST RESISTANCE

• Is the battery sealed and rated for water or dust intrusion?

• Can it handle real-world conditions like rain, washing, or wet environments?

4. LOAD & PERFORMANCE TESTING

• Has this battery been tested under continuous heavy load?

• What happens when climbing hills or carrying multiple passengers?

5. VIBRATION & DURABILITY

• Has it been tested for vibration and rough terrain?

• Golf carts are not smooth vehicles — this matters more than people think

6. BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BMS)

• What protections are built into the BMS?

• How does it handle peak demand and prevent shutdowns?

7. REAL SUPPORT

• If something goes wrong, who do you call?

• Is there actual technical support behind the product?

WHY THIS MATTERS

Most customers won’t ask these questions. And to be fair, many dealers aren’t given these answers either.

But this is where the difference is. Because a battery that has been properly engineered and tested will have clear, confident answers to every one of these questions.

A battery that hasn’t? That’s where you tend to get vague responses, general claims, or no real documentation at all.

DEALERS: THIS IS YOUR REPUTATION

For dealers, this goes beyond the sale. Every battery you install reflects on your business.

The right product:

• Performs consistently

• Reduces callbacks

• Builds trust with your customers

The wrong one:

• Creates service issues

• Eats up your time

• Damages long-term relationships

SO… WHY “ME”?

Because the best lithium battery is not just the one that works today.

It’s the one that continues to perform — under real conditions, over time — with a company that stands behind it.

When a manufacturer can confidently check every box above, that tells you everything you need to know.

FINAL THOUGHT

Lithium is one of the best upgrades you can make to a golf cart — when it’s done right. So before you decide, don’t just ask what it does. Ask for proof. And ask yourself: “Why THIS one?”

PRO TIP

A well-built lithium battery should feel stronger, smoother, and more consistent than lead-acid from the very first drive — and it should stay that way.

HAPPY CARTING!!!!

HOW HONOR LSV IS REDEFINING WHAT A GOLF CART CAN BE

Walk into the Honor LSV manufacturing facility in Charleston, South Carolina, and the first thing that hits you is that this is not a golf cart assembly operation. It's a full-scale manufacturing plant with aerospace-grade machinery, laser cutters, CNC tube benders, a powder coat facility spanning 16,000 square feet, and an assembly line where every single cart rolls out with someone's name on it.

This is not what most people picture when they think about how a golf cart gets made. That's exactly the point.

"I started this company not to just copy others," says Brian Plaisance, founder of Honor LSV. "Not to buy all foreign product and just assemble like most of our competition. I started this company to make the safest cart in the industry."

Three and a half years into shipping product, Honor has built a reputation that's hard to argue with and a

manufacturing story that's nearly impossible to replicate.

THE MOST AMERICAN CART ON THE MARKET

In an industry where many brands import the majority of their components and handle little more than final assembly, Honor has taken a fundamentally different approach. On their G1 two-plus-two models, approximately 18% of costs go to foreign-sourced parts. On their newly launched Boulevard, a forward-facing four-seater that debuted at the 2026 PGA Show, that number drops to around seven or eight percent.

"I will put my bill of materials against any other cart in the market," Brian says without hesitation. "This is the most American cart in the industry."

It's not just a marketing claim. The raw aluminum arrives from mills in Florida and Ohio using Honor's own custom extrusions, designed in-house and run through the mill to

their specifications. The sheet metal is cut by an in-house laser. Frames are bent on a CNC press brake. The powder coat facility is the largest in the state of South Carolina, assembled on-site over 14 weeks. The seats are wrapped by a boat manufacturer right there in Charleston. The carts are painted by the same company that paints for Club Car and E-Z-GO.

ALUMINUM FROM THE GROUND UP

The engineering story at Honor begins with material choice. Every Honor LSV is built entirely from aluminum, making it the only all-aluminum cart on the market, and that decision flows into everything else the company does.

The frames are engineered around a puzzle-piece tab system where many components have a male and female connection point. Parts can only go together one way. "Our frames can be assembled without a single weld on them," Brian

golfcartmanufacturer

explains. "We walk them around the shop and they don't come apart." The welds come later, for longevity, but the accuracy is baked into the design from the start.

The precision matters because it enables something most manufacturers can't claim: floor mats cut to plus or minus .005 tolerances, the width of two human hairs, that drop in perfectly every time. No shimming, no adjusting. They just fit.

The all-aluminum construction also makes Honor the lightest cart in the industry. Because the battery trays are mounted below the frame rail, it also carries the lowest center of gravity in the market. Combine those two things and you get a cart that's genuinely hard to flip. "You would really, really have to be trying to flip our cart to get it to turn over," Brian says. That's not a boast. It's the result of more than a year of patent development specifically focused on making it true.

THE BOULEVARD: FOUR SEATS, ZERO COMPROMISES

The Boulevard is Honor's biggest product step yet. Launched at the 2026 PGA Show and entering production in Spring 2026, the forward-facing four-seater solves some of the most common complaints about four-passenger carts while adding features the industry hasn't seen before.

Start with the windshield. Honor developed a patentpending magnetic windshield system, making them the only

OEM to eliminate the rubber sashes and plastic clips that squeak and degrade over time. Fold it down and the magnets do the work.

Storage has always been the weak point of forward-facing carts. The Boulevard addresses it with aluminum-wrapped storage under every seat, clean and fully integrated into the design. When Honor brought the cart to the PGA Show and put the tallest attendee they could find, a six-foot-ten gentleman, in the rear seat, he had room to spare.

The Boulevard also comes standard with electric tilt steering, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, lockable dashes, and much more. It will be available in ten colors when it reaches dealers.

BUILT TO ORDER. EVERY ONE.

Perhaps the most distinctive thing about Honor's operation isn't the machinery. It's the philosophy behind every cart that comes off the line.

Honor doesn't carry inventory. Every single cart is built to order, with an order sheet bearing the dealer's name, and sometimes the end customer's name, that travels with the cart through every stage of production: laser cutting, welding, powder coat, mechanical, electrical, plastics, finish line, final inspection, and detail.

"One person is not buying a truckload of carts," Brian explains. "They're buying one. So, if one cart is bad, that customer has a poor experience. So, we try our best before they leave."

About 15 hours of American labor go into every cart. With 45 employees currently on the floor and plans to grow to 65 over the next six months, that adds up to something meaningful: real manufacturing jobs, in a real American factory, building a product that was designed, cut, bent, welded, painted, and shipped from right here.

AN APP THAT ACTUALLY CHANGES THINGS

Honor is the only golf cart OEM to offer owners a dedicated app with direct vehicle controls, and the feature set goes well beyond novelty. Parents can set a precise speed limit for younger drivers, not a tortoise-and-rabbit switch, but an exact number adjusted while the cart is stationary. Regenerative braking is adjustable from zero to 100 percent. Carts can be fully locked out so they won't move even with a key present. Four-wheel drive can be monitored and managed from a phone.

Most notably, the app allows Honor to push updates directly to individual carts or to the entire fleet. When feedback from customers in The Villages indicated the acceleration

was too aggressive, Honor launched a comfort mode update. Customers simply checked for updates in the app, the cart updated itself, and the issue was resolved without a dealer visit or a service call.

"Just like your iPhone updates at night," Brian says. It sounds simple. In the golf cart industry, it's completely unprecedented.

WHY IT MATTERS

Honor LSV is not the biggest name in the industry and doesn't have the longest history. What it has is a genuine manufacturing story, a clear point of view, and a founder who set out to prove that you could build the safest, lightest, most American golf cart on the market.

"We're not here to copy one another," Brian says. "We're here to push the envelope of technology."

In a market full of brands competing on color options and wheel upgrades, Honor is competing on a different level entirely, with patents, precision, materials, and mission as their foundation. And in Charleston, South Carolina, they're building the proof one cart at a time.

S WOMEN DRIVING CHANGE IN THE GOLF CART INDUSTRY

HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT

The golf cart industry has never had a shortage of passion. Walk into any dealership, trade show, or custom build shop and you'll find people who genuinely love what they do. What you might not always notice — at least not immediately — is that some of the most capable, knowledgeable, and driven people in those rooms are women. And for a long time, too many people walked right past them to ask a question of the nearest guy.

That's changing. And the women leading that change have stories worth telling.

The idea for this conversation was born at the 2025 GolfCarting Expo & Dealer Summit, where a handful of women in the industry approached GolfCarting Magazine with a simple but powerful ask: let's talk about this. What followed was an hour-long online roundtable with six women who represented a wide cross-section of the industry — dealership co-owners, a brand manager, a marketing VP, and the founder of a golf cart LED lighting brand. Different roles, different

backgrounds, one consistent theme: the work of proving yourself never really stops. But neither does the determination to do exactly that.

MEET THE PANEL

Jordan Hoyle is the co-owner and self-described "She-E-O" of SCV Carts. She can adjust the valves on a gas engine and once wanted to be a race car driver. She ended up here instead — and she's glad she did.

Jenn Tenney is Brand Manager for Bolt and Madjax at Nivel. She started as a stay-at-home mom, learned the business from the ground up alongside her husband, and can walk anyone through a battery installation without missing a beat.

Kirsten McGannon is VP of Marketing and Sales at Prime Golf Carts. She's 24 years old, previously ran her own dealership, and will show up in a landscaping truck to personally deliver your cart. Don't let the higher-pitched voice fool you.

Tracy Spreatz is CFO and co-owner of Resort Life Carts. She built a bridal business, published a magazine, produced large events, and managed sales across 12 states before landing in golf carts. Around the office, she's known as the Intimidator. She earned it.

Megan DiStasio is coowner of Carts Inc. She started flipping carts out of the garage during COVID, juggles kids and operations with equal intensity, and can back a loaded 40-foot gooseneck trailer without breaking a sweat.

THE ASSUMPTION PROBLEM

Ask any of these women about the biggest challenge they've faced and you'll hear a version of the same story. The details differ. The frustration is universal.

Customers asking to speak to "one of your service guys." Phone callers who selected technical support and couldn't hide their surprise when a woman answered. Vendors walking straight past the female owner to find the man at the event. The assumption that a woman at the dealership must be the receptionist, the wife, the marketing person — anything but the one who actually knows the answer.

Jordan put it plainly: "Secretary, someone's wife, support. I think that's always assumed." She's learned to channel the frustration differently now. "Sometimes anger doesn't have to be anger — it can go to education, and that's going to drive it a whole lot further."

Amy Rixmann-Boger is founder and CEO of Golden Hour LEDs. She came from a C-suite background in enterprise sales, saw that LED lighting installs were fundamentally broken for dealers, and built a solution from the ground up. She still does her own installs—and has the grease stains to prove it.

Jenn described a rhythm she's developed at the dealership. When someone calls and asks for the mechanic, she simply stays on the line and starts solving the problem. "They always expect a guy to be on the end of that," she said. "I love being able to answer their questions. The way they're talking changes by the end. I love that."

Tracy had to prove herself even inside her own business. When she transitioned from moonlighting as owner to working full-time, the skepticism was real — including from her own office manager. "I remember thinking, I've got to win this girl over," she said. Three weeks in, that same office manager shut the door behind her as she was leaving, then opened it again. "I'm so glad that you're here," she said. "I just wanted to tell you that." Tracy still laughs about having to prove herself in her own company. "Hard work is hard work. Knowledge is knowledge. Leadership is leadership. It can

transfer to any industry — whether you're in a dress or a polo shirt."

CONFIDENCE: THE COMMON THREAD

If there's one word that surfaced more than any other across the entire conversation, it's confidence. Every woman on the panel named it as both the biggest hurdle and the most essential tool.

Megan described her moment clearly. She showed up to the dealership one day in sweatpants, no makeup, kids in tow — and sold a cart anyway. "The customer didn't care what I looked like. They were just like, you know what you're talking about and you're willing to sell me that cart? Awesome." That was her aha moment.

For Kirsten, it came on a delivery run in her landscaping truck. The customer watched her climb out, did a double take, and then realized: this woman called me, sold me the cart, handled the financing, and just delivered it herself. "In that moment I was like, yeah. I can do this."

Amy put a finer point on it. "The credibility will follow as soon as they see the results," she said. "I just solve a real business problem instead of worrying about where the credibility comes from."

Jordan introduced a concept the whole group recognized immediately: imposter syndrome. "Sometimes the question that keeps coming up is, how come I get a seat in this room?" she said. Her answer to herself? "I probably built that seat and wrote my name on it. And I was ready to sit in it." She's also learned to stop moving the goalposts and actually celebrate the wins — something she admitted she's still working on.

This conversation isn't just about women. It's about anyone who has ever walked into a room in this industry and felt like the odd one out — anyone who's had to prove their knowledge before getting the chance to use it, anyone who's been underestimated and had to decide what to do with that.

As Amy observed, "There has honestly never been a better time for women to be building real businesses and running businesses in the golf carting industry." The industry is growing fast, it's attracting new kinds of entrepreneurs, and it increasingly reflects the diversity of the customers it serves.

Jordan closed the conversation with a line that might be the best summary of where this industry is headed: "If you find that you are the outlier in a room, it doesn't mean you're in the wrong room. It just might mean that you're early."

These six women aren't early anymore. They're here — adjusting valves, running payroll, building LED lighting systems, delivering carts in landscaping trucks, answering the tech support line, and coaching their teams to be better salespeople. They're doing the work, earning the credibility, and making room for the next generation of people who show up to a room where they don't quite fit the expected profile.

The golf cart industry is better for having them in it. And judging by the momentum of this conversation, the best is still ahead. –

THE BIGGER PICTURE

3 GOLF CART STORAGE ADD-ONS WORTH CHECKING OUT

Ever find yourself loading up your cart to get ready to go somewhere, thinking it’d be nice to have more space to put some of this stuff? Whether it’s beach chairs, coolers, fishing rods, towels, speakers, or even just having a nice place to put your phone and garage door opener, most carts don’t come with as much storage as people want from the factory, and strapping things down with bungee cords or piling everything on the seats is not ideal.

The aftermarket has caught on, and there are now some really good storage add-ons out there. In this guide, we’re highlighting products from a few companies that are definitely worth considering. Each one offers something a little different, so depending on what you need, one of these might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

1

CART RACKS SC ( CARTRACKSSC.COM )

STARTING PRICE: $159 (Standard and Evolution D5 Forward Facing kits); $175 (Wide Grab Bar kit); $225 (model-specific forward-facing kits)

COMPATIBLE MODELS: Bintelli, Epic, Icon, Evolution D5, 2025 Venom Strike (Standard); Club Car, MadJax, Denago Nomad, 2025 E-Z-GO, Honor LSV (Wide); plus dedicated kits for Epic E40FX, Denago Rover XL/XXL, Dach Apollo, E-Z-GO Liberty, Venom Stealth/Voyager Commander, and Lux F4/F6

MATERIAL: Steel with oil-based black paint coating

WHY WE LIKE IT: Cart Racks SC is a small, American-owned company that makes rear-mounted beach chair racks. Their patented design installs directly on your cart’s rear safety grab bar and is built for one thing: carrying chairs and gear without them falling off or getting in the way when you don’t need them.

The fold-down design is the real selling point here. When you’re not using the racks, the arms fold flat and lock into place. According to their website, it’s the thinnest setup on the market in its closed position. That means you don’t have to worry about squeezing through the garage door, kids bumping their heads, or anyone walking into them. A lot of similar products stick straight out the back and don’t collapse, which is a real problem if you store your cart in a tight space.

The standard kit comes assembled and ready to install by drilling four holes into your grab bar. Some model-specific kits, like the Epic E40FX, require zero drilling and attach directly to factory mounts. Each order includes everything you need: a pair of rack arms with hardware, locking pins, a drill bit, rubber bumpers to prevent rattling, and half-moon spacers for rounded grab bars. If you don’t see your model listed on their

site, they encourage you to reach out because they’re always expanding their lineup.

2CADDYBAR™ ( CADDYBAR.COM )

STARTING PRICE: $305

COMPATIBLE MODELS: Universal fit – designed to work with all golf carts

MATERIAL: Heavy-duty aluminum

WHY WE LIKE IT: While most storage products focus on the rear of the cart, CaddyBar is mainly for the front of your unit, so this is for some of your smaller items that you want to keep in arm’s reach like your phone, keys, wallet, and so on. According to their site, CaddyBar was the #1 viewed online profile at the 2025 PGA Show, and once you see the accessory lineup, it’s easy to understand the buzz around it.

CaddyBar also offers several bundle options that save you money if you know you want multiple accessories. Their website features three of their best-selling bundles, ranging from the CaddyBar + 2 Trays at $305 to the CaddyBar + Tray + Mobile Device Holder + Cooler + Cup for $599. The whole system is modular, so you can start simple and add on over time.

The accessory lineup is where CaddyBar really shines. Here's a look at some of what's available:

• TRAY ($43) – Above-dash tray for rangefinders, keys, wallets, and personal items

• TRAY ORGANIZER ($39) – Insert that fits inside the tray for better organization

• OVERSIZED CUP HOLDER ($32) – Fits 30+ oz tumblers and insulated bottles

• COOLER ($164) – Heavy-duty cooler with bonded nylon construction

• MOBILE DEVICE HOLDER ($142) – Adjustable mount with pivot sockets

• MAGNETIC MOBILE DEVICE HOLDER ($142) – Magnetic mount option

• PROPANE TANK HOLDER ($44) – Secures a standard 1 lb propane cylinder for heaters

• SCORECARD ATTACHMENT ($49) – Keeps scores organized and accessible on the course

• TABLET HOLDER ($54) – Secure tablet mount

• SAND BOTTLE HOLDER ($44) – Holds a sand bottle for on-course play

3

BA PARTS CARTRACK™ ( SHOPBAPARTS.COM )

STARTING PRICE: $449.95 ($474.95 for E-Z-GO Liberty)

COMPATIBLE MODELS: Evolution D5 & D5 Plus, Epic E40FX, Denago Rover XL & XXL, Dach Apollo & Elite, E-Z-GO Liberty

MATERIAL: Heavy-gauge American steel, CNC-cut panels, powder-coated black

WHY WE LIKE IT: The BA Parts CartRack is a heavy-duty rear storage platform that mounts using your cart’s existing mounting points with included proprietary hardware. No

drilling, no fabrication—just basic hand tools and a few minutes of your time. As they put it, every BA CartRack is built because every cart owner needs real storage. Coolers, chairs, beach gear, jackets, tackle boxes—none of it has a home, and the BA CartRack is designed to change that.

Where the BA CartRack really stands out is the modular accessory system. Everything bolts on in minutes with nothing more than a wrench and socket. Here’s what’s currently available:

• CHAIRRACK ($89.95) – Slide-out arms that secure 3–4 chairs with included bungee loops

• CARGO NET ($24.95) – Elastic net that keeps towels, jackets, and loose gear from bouncing around

• DUAL CUPHOLDERS ($39.95) – Stainless steel, built for tailgates, campgrounds, or neighborhood runs

• LOCKABLE DRY BOX ($59.95) – Weather-sealed, padlock-ready storage for valuables

• FISHING POLE RACK ($59.95) – Carries two rods securely

• XTREME MAT ($59.95) – Custom-fit mat for the CartRack surface

The reviews speak for themselves. Customers consistently mention the build quality, easy installation, and how sturdy the whole setup feels once it’s mounted. If you want a storage system you can build out over time and customize to your needs, this one is really hard to beat.

WRAPPING IT UP

Storage is one of those things most golf cart owners don’t think about until they’re trying to figure out where to put everything. Cart Racks SC is a great option for those who really need an easy way to load up chairs and hit the road, at a good price starting at $159. BA Parts gives you a heavy-duty modular platform with a growing list of nice bolt-on options. And CaddyBar provides a great solution for up-front storage, for all those items that you don’t want shifting around in your dash, and their deep accessory lineup and universal fit makes it simple to build out your perfect storage setup.

And if it’s time to upgrade the whole cart first and then add on one of these storage solutions, head over to CartFinder to browse new and used golf carts for sale from top dealers throughout the country.

ASK THE MECHANIC

Q: What advantages does converting my golf cart from DC to AC give me?

A: Converting the Direct Current (DC) from your golf cart's batteries into Alternating Current (AC) for the motor is essentially like giving the cart a "brain upgrade." Most modern, high-performance golf carts use AC systems because they are more efficient, provide better torque, and allow for finer control.

Breaking things down, your golf cart stores energy in its battery bank. This energy is direct current (DC), meaning the electricity flows in a single, constant direction. The magic happens in the motor controller. In an AC system, this device acts as an inverter. It takes that steady DC voltage and "chops" it into three separate phases of alternating current (AC). The controller uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to turn the DC power on and off thousands of times per second. By varying the timing and duration of these pulses, the controller mimics a sine wave, the standard shape of AC power.

Unlike a DC motor, an AC induction motor doesn't have brushes. It uses the three phases of power provided by the controller to create a rotating magnetic field in the stationary part of the motor (the stator). Here are a couple terms to familiarize yourself with.

Magnetic Drag: This rotating field "pulls" the internal rotor along with it.

Frequency = Speed: To make the cart go faster, the controller simply increases the frequency (how fast the waves cycle).

Voltage = Torque: To climb a steep hill, the controller increases the amplitude (the "strength") of the waves.

AC performs better than DC because lost energy through heat and brush friction, you're limited by battery voltage, the brushes need periodic replacement, and barely get

any regenerative braking. Whereas the AC system is highly efficient with minimal heat loss, can "over-speed" the motor via frequency, Virtually maintenance-free (no brushes), and recharges batteries while slowing through regenerative braking.

In conclusion, AC is the much better option. Companies like Navitas, ECO Battery, Lithium Rhino, Alltrax and Silverwolf offer these conversion kits.

Q: What should I be aware of for maintaining lithium batteries?

A: To keep your lithium (LiFePO4) battery running for a decade or more, follow these four pillars of maintenance:

Charging Habits: Unlike lead-acid, lithium doesn’t need to be charged after every short trip. It’s happiest staying between 20% and 80% state of charge (SoC). However, charge it to 100% occasionally (once every few weeks) to allow the BMS to balance the individual cells.

Temperature Control: Never charge a lithium battery in freezing temperatures; doing so can cause permanent "plating" damage. Most quality BMS units have a cutoff to prevent this.

Storage: If storing for the winter, leave the battery at roughly 50% charge and disconnect the main switch to prevent "parasitic draw" from the cart's electronics.

Physical Check: Ensure terminals are clean and tight. Lithium doesn't require watering, so keep the top of the casing dry.

Tip of the Month: When shopping for a used cart, open the seat and smell the controller area. A sweet, ozone, or burntplastic smell usually indicates a failing solenoid or a controller that is overheating due to poor wiring. Buyer beware!
