REAL CUSTOMERS' THOUGHTS ON DENAGO EV
We could spend this time giving our opinions about Denago EV golf carts but let’s be honest, you’re going to take a manufacturer’s thoughts with a grain of salt. Instead of using this space to say what we think, we’ve given the floor back to the people whose opinions you’re really interested in. The customers. So let’s explore together how some people around the world think of Denago EV. It may be good, it may be bad, but hopefully it’s as enlightening as it is entertaining.
The Good “We never heard of Denago either till we recently brought our 1st cart. We love it so far. With all the tech, safety features and accessories its great for the price. Loud sound bar and smooth ride too!” - David L. “Just like every car or truck or suv made, you’ll have people that had issues with big voices. We have 0 regrets buying our Nomad XL, and have nothing but great things to say about our dealer as well. The warranty and customer service that we have read about and experienced are above and beyond what our friends have experienced with others, including the big 3. If you only bought things that had zero negative comments or reviews, you’d have nothing. Just my 2 cents..” - Drew M. 18 www.GolfCarting.com
“We never heard of Denago until our neighbors bought a golf cart, and he showed up with his denago and my husband fell in love with his golf cart and now we bought the same one and haven't had any complaints at all! We have had ours since the beginning of January! We love our Rover!” - Monnie S. “Denago EV Customer Service is the most professional, knowledgeable, and responsive customer service I have ever experienced. Zoe from Denago partnered up with Jereme at Prestige Golf Cars, to address my cart questions and issues. My cart was picked up, repaired quickly, and delivered back to me. The Denago EV Customer Service and dealership partnership was a great experience. Thank you both.” - Steven D. “Excellent customer service and product. I had a minor issue with my new rover xl and I called the corporate number. Kenneth called me back , listened to my issue and sent me a replacement part with no haggling. Excellent job Kenneth” - Jim M.
GOLF CARTING MAGAZINE 19
The Bad “I would reconsider. I’m waiting to see if they get all the bugs worked out. And see some clean 3 to 4 year reviews.” - John W. “Rides like a Flinstone mobile with square tires…” - Nicky K. “We have 2 Denago’s and they have been nothing but trouble since we got them!” - aprilsmithdowns “My cart battery runs down quickly. I am concerned about driving it too far, getting down below 20%, and the whole thing locking up until it is charged. I would like to drive the thing 15 or 20 miles with no worries, but I have heard a horror stories about shutting down and locking up. Sort of wishing I had bought a gas cart now.” - Phil A “Our Denago is noisy. Squeaks, rubs and rattles. Is everyone's this way” - Sabrina A.
The Funny “Power steering? I'd be happy if mine just steered without a full on workout......”“Ooooooooh hmmmmm makin me wanna trade in the e-bikes and upgrade hahaha” - tucker.n.steve “Where do the clubs go? Lol” - the_djpm “That’s not a golf cart. That’s a bus. That said, so far our Rover XL has performed flawlessly. I am considering changing out to radials to improve ride.” “Usable "Deveices" Style-of-music. Yep this thing is totally made in Texas, can't even hire anyone fluent in English to spell check the software. Granted anyone that buys this is probably not smart enough to spell "devices" anyway.” - Recent-Percentage-26

What Do You Think?
Customer opinions are certainly important to us, but it’s up to you how much stock you put into what you’ve read. There’s no substitute for experience, so we recommend finding a local dealership and taking a Denago for a drive to see for yourself if it's the one for you.

CANYON LAKE GOLF CART SHOW GOES BIG T
he Canyon Lake Fire Fighter Association’s 3rd Annual Golf Cart Show was nothing short of legendary! With shiny chrome, creative custom builds, and crowds that came from near and far ready to roll! The Canyon Lake Town Center turned into a motorized celebration of all things fun, fast, and fabulously funky. From tricked-out carts with underglow and booming 24 www.GolfCarting.com
sound systems to vintage rides polished to perfection, every path led to jaw-dropping creativity. Families cruised, judges scrutinized, and cameras clicked as the parking lot turned into a runway of wheels and wild imagination. With winners in both the Best in Show and People’s Choice categories, the Batmobile Tumbler and Club Car 240SX took home the cheddar!
Winners of both categories also received a one of a kind trophy made by none other than Tim OMarra of the Canyon Lake Fire Fighters Association. “We are grateful to all who came out and participated in our 3rd Annual Golf Cart Show. The creativity of the cart owners and generosity of the vendors make this show truly unique. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next June,” said the man himself, Tim OMarra. The city's local golf cart dealership and repair center Canyon Lake Mobile Golf Cart Repair was a sponsor of the event and owner, Tony Schwarzman, said, “We love that this has become an Industry event and golf cart companies from
around the region can come together for an awesome cause.” With rockin’ music from both the stage and the carts, the best food trucks around, kids activities, e-bike rodeo, both local and non local vendors, the day was a total SLAM DUNK! Canyon Lake Mobile Golf Cart Repair’s Service Coordinator, Kelly Fellin, said, “It was a great turnout with lots of people. Even better…people with golf cart questions! Being able to help customers from all around was epic!” We can’t wait to see what rolls in next year—because clearly, around here, golf carts are fore more than just the course!

POWER UP YOUR GAME BATTERY TENDER POWERPLUS CHARGERS AND PLUGS FOR ALL GOLF CARTS
E
nsuring your golf cart's batteries are consistently charged and maintained is crucial for optimal performance and longevity. Battery Tender PowerPlus chargers offer a reliable, intelligent solution for golf cart owners. Battery Tender PowerPlus chargers, available in 36V, 18 AMP and 48V, 15 AMP options, provide a sophisticated, multi-stage charging process to maximize battery life and performance. These chargers boast versatile connection options to accommodate various golf cart plug configurations, including E-Z-GO, Club Car DS, Club Car Precedent, and
28 www.GolfCarting.com
Yamaha, eliminating the need for adapters. For a more permanent solution, PowerPlus chargers also offer a hardwiring option using ring terminals, providing a more direct connection. Designed with convenience in mind, PowerPlus chargers have compact dimensions and versatile mounting options, allowing you to easily secure the charger directly onto the cart's frame or within a storage compartment. They are also built to withstand the elements with an IP68 rating, featuring a weatherproof enclosure that protects internal components
from moisture, dust, and other environmental hazards. One of the most significant advantages of PowerPlus chargers is their selectable chemistry feature. This allows you to choose the appropriate charging profile for various modern golf cart battery types, including standard (sealed or flooded lead-acid), AGM, and lithium. This ensures optimal charging efficiency and prevents overcharging. At the heart of the PowerPlus chargers is the renowned Battery Tender four-step charging process, designed to maximize battery life and performance: 1. Initialization: The charger analyzes the battery's condition, determining its voltage and state of charge. 2. Bulk Charge: The charger delivers a constant current to bring the battery up to approximately 80% of its full charge. 3. Absorption Charge: The charger switches to a constant voltage mode, allowing the battery to absorb the remaining charge at a slower rate for a complete charge. 4. Float/Maintenance: Once fully charged, the charger enters a float mode, maintaining the battery at its optimal voltage without overcharging, ensuring it's always ready for use.
PowerPlus chargers feature an intuitive LED indicator system providing real-time feedback on the charging process: • Solid Green Light: Battery fully charged, charger in float/ maintenance mode. • Flashing Green Light: Charger in absorption phase, battery at 80% and actively charging to full. • Solid Yellow Light: Charger in bulk charge phase, rapidly charging the battery. • Flashing Amber Light: AC power connected, but no battery connection. • Solid Amber Light & Lithium Green Light Flashing: Charger in Lithium battery recovery mode. • Amber Light & Green Light toggling: Safety timer activated, reverse polarity, or recovery mode failed. Battery Tender PowerPlus chargers offer a comprehensive and reliable solution for golf cart owners. With versatile connection options, rugged construction, selectable chemistry, and an intelligent four-step charging process, these chargers are designed to maximize the longevity and performance of your battery, ensuring your golf cart is always ready for the course.
GOLF CARTING MAGAZINE 29
W
hen most builders start a custom golf cart project, they begin with an existing frame and work from there. Shawn Gaines of The Cart Wizard in Rustburg, Virginia, had a different approach in mind. His award-winning creation at the 2025 Upstate Cart Fest started with just four pieces of steel laying on the floor—and evolved into a head-turning masterpiece that dominated the event.
32 www.GolfCarting.com
GOLF CARTING MAGAZINE 33
"This cart was painted at 2:00 in the morning outside with all the bugs chasing them away, trying to keep them off the clear coat," Gaines explains with a laugh. "It was a task to get it done in that kind of time. There's nothing on here that's powder coated—everything's painted." BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP The scope of this build becomes clear when you realize that virtually nothing was purchased off-the-shelf. "Everything's all pretty much done by me," Gaines notes. "We started cutting and welding and came to a complete cart once we were all the way through." The foundation rolls on massive 40x15.50R26 tires—a sizeable wheel and tire combination that gives the cart its commanding presence. The front end features a straight axle with quad-piston caliper disc brakes, all supported by a custom 4-link suspension system that Gaines fabricated himself. Even the roof is completely custom-built, topped with a
34 www.GolfCarting.com
hand-made canvas cover that perfectly complements the cart's proportions. INNOVATION THROUGH NECESSITY One of the most impressive aspects of this build is how Gaines solved engineering challenges through creative problem-solving. The shock absorbers, for instance, started life as components for a military vehicle project that Gaines purchased and modified specifically for cart use. "The only thing that's on here that's real cart is the body and the rear axle," he explains, highlighting just how extensive the custom fabrication work became. The braking system showcases this innovative approach. Rather than adding complexity with a powered brake system, Gaines designed a 7:1 pedal ratio that provides adequate stopping power without additional weight or components. "I designed it so that I didn't have to run extra things, putting more stuff on the cart for weight," he notes. TECHNOLOGY MEETS CONVENIENCE The cart features a sophisticated push-button start system that works wirelessly with Gaines' phone. "I have a card in my phone. I swipe the phone under the switch and push a button, and it turns on," he demonstrates. "There is no key. It's all wireless." Air-powered steps address the practical challenge of entry
and exit, controlled by a remote system that allows easy access to the elevated cabin. An air tank mounted in the rear powers both the steps and other pneumatic systems throughout the cart. AUDIO SYSTEM THAT COMMANDS ATTENTION The 7,000-watt stereo system represents another area where Gaines refused to compromise. The setup includes four NVX subwoofers (two 12-inch and two 10-inch), eight component speakers, and high-end Alpine components for the highs and head unit. ARC Audio amplifiers power the system, with all amplifiers and chargers strategically mounted under the seat. A dedicated battery box houses the power supply for the audio system, ensuring the main drive batteries aren't compromised by the substantial power demands of the sound system. PERFORMANCE TO MATCH THE PRESENCE Under the custom bodywork sits a Navitas AC 5KW system paired with an Eco Battery 72-volt lithium battery pack. This combination provides the power needed to move the substantial custom cart while maintaining efficiency and performance. The rear axle features single-piston disc brake calipers, and the cart includes a full gear shifter that functions like a 36 www.GolfCarting.com
traditional automotive transmission, complete with a parking brake that automatically engages when shifted into park. ATTENTION TO DETAIL The interior showcases custom upholstery work by Brian's Upholstery, while the steering wheel is a Nova-replacementstyle unit that would be at home in a classic Chevy. Thoughtful touches include a high-low headlight button integrated into the turn signal switch and custom lighting throughout, including unique "eyeball lights" on the front that will display actual eyeball graphics when illuminated. The flooring features a SeaDek-style material that provides durability and a finished appearance that matches the overall build quality. "Once you stick it on, she's there," Gaines notes about the tough flooring material. RECOGNITION WELL EARNED The cart's impact at the 2025 Upstate Cart Fest was immediate and undeniable. The bright red creation won the People's Choice award, standing out among the other custom builds with its combination of scale, innovation, and meticulous attention to detail. "That thing definitely stole the show," I observed after watching the crowd reaction throughout the event. "It was the biggest, bright red, right in the middle of the park and just
stood out among everything." THE ART OF CUSTOM FABRICATION Shawn Gaines' creation represents the pinnacle of custom golf cart fabrication—a build where virtually every component required individual attention and custom engineering. From the late-night painting sessions to the innovative wireless start system, every aspect demonstrates the dedication required to create something truly unique. For builders looking to push the boundaries of what's
38 www.GolfCarting.com
possible with golf cart customization, this award-winning creation proves that with enough skill, creativity, and determination, even four pieces of steel can become a masterpiece. Editor's Note: Shawn Gaines' cart at the 2025 Upstate Cart Fest exemplifies the incredible creativity and technical skill present in today's custom golf cart community. From complete scratch builds to innovative engineering solutions, builders like Shawn continue to redefine what's possible on four wheels.

I
THE SERVICE WRITER'S GUIDE TO CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION EXCELLENCE
In the golf cart industry, your service writer often determines whether a routine maintenance visit becomes a positive experience or a customer service nightmare. This critical role requires more than just scheduling appointments and writing up work orders – it demands exceptional communication skills that can transform one-time customers into lifelong advocates. THE TRANSLATION CHALLENGE Effective service writers are skilled translators, converting customer concerns into technical language for technicians, then translating technical findings back into customer-friendly terms. When someone says their cart is "acting funny," dig deeper. What kind of behavior? When does it occur? How long has this been happening? Always confirm your understanding: "So the cart hesitates when you accelerate from a stop, and this started happening about two weeks ago. Is that right?" This simple practice prevents costly miscommunication and demonstrates that you're actively listening. Setting Expectations Early Customer frustration often stems from unmet expectations, not necessarily poor service. Combat this by being transparent about processes, timelines, and potential costs from the first conversation. Develop a standard explanation for your diagnostic process: "We'll need about an hour to properly assess the issue. Once we identify the problem, I'll call you with a detailed estimate before any work begins. Our goal is to have you back on the road by 3 PM, but I'll keep you updated if anything changes." This approach builds trust and reduces anxiety by explaining what will happen and when. PROACTIVE COMMUNICATION WINS Don't wait for customers to call you for updates – reach out to them first. If you promised to call by 2 PM, call by 2 PM even if you only have partial information. Reliability matters more than having complete answers immediately. Structure your updates in three parts: what you found, what it means, and what happens next. "Good news – we've identified the issue as normal brake wear. The repair will cost $120 and take about 90 minutes. Should we proceed?" NAVIGATING DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS When delivering expensive repair estimates, lead with empathy and context. "I understand this isn't what you were hoping to hear. Let me explain exactly what we found and why this repair is important for your safety and the cart's reliability." Always provide options when possible, even if it's just timing: "We can complete this today, or you can take time to consider it and schedule the work for next week." For upset customers, use the LAST technique: Listen without interrupting, Apologize for their frustration, work together to Solve the problem, and Thank them for bringing the issue to your attention. 40 www.GolfCarting.com
DOCUMENTATION AND CONSISTENCY Meticulous record-keeping separates good service writers from great ones. Document every conversation, promised timeline, and customer preference in your dealership management system. Note communication styles too – some customers want detailed technical explanations, while others just want to know when their cart will be ready. This documentation ensures consistency when customers interact with different team members and provides valuable context for future service visits. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS BEYOND TRANSACTIONS The best service writers think long-term. They remember returning customers' names, ask about their golf game or family, and proactively suggest maintenance based on usage patterns and seasonal needs. Create opportunities for personal connection: "How's that new battery working out?" or "Ready for tournament season?" These touches transform routine visits into relationship-building opportunities. Implement a follow-up system for major repairs. A quick call a few days later shows you care about the outcome and gives customers a chance to address concerns before they become complaints. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT Track communication metrics like callback rates and customer satisfaction scores. If customers frequently ask about repair timelines, improve your initial scheduling communication. If complaints cluster around specific issues, address them in team training. Regular role-playing sessions help staff practice difficult scenarios and learn from real customer interactions. What worked well? What could have been handled differently? THE COMPETITIVE EDGE In today's market, customers have choices. Exceptional service communication gives them compelling reasons to return to your dealership and recommend you to others. Remember, people may forget what you did, but they'll remember how you made them feel. When customers feel heard, informed, and valued throughout their service experience, they become powerful advocates for your business. Investing in service writer communication training isn't just about improving customer satisfaction – it's about building a sustainable competitive advantage that drives repeat business and referrals. In an industry where word-of-mouth matters, excellent communication skills can be your dealership's greatest asset.

It’s powered by a 48V lithium battery and a 16.7 horsepower Plum Quick motor, paired with a Navitas 600amp controller. We used heavy-duty 2-gauge wire and installed an on-board fast smart charger. This beast clocks in at over 30 MPH and is fully street-ready—with LED headlights, brake lights, turn signals, a horn, speedometer, and odometer. It looks stunning in GM Hypersonic Gray and rides on a fully custom-built frame. The best part? It’s 90% E-Z-GO heavy-duty parts, so it can be serviced easily by any E-Z-GO dealer. 42 www.GolfCarting.com
WHAT AFTERMARKET PARTS DID YOU USE? Joshua: Everything’s brand new—Navitas controller, Plum Quick motor, and more. Like I mentioned, about 90% of the build uses EZGO parts, so future maintenance is simple for any E-Z-GO tech. CAN YOU SHARE A BIT ABOUT HOW YOU GOT INTO THE CART WORLD? Joshua: It all started with my dad and I buying and selling used carts and parts. What began as a small project idea turned into a full sevenweek build. Now, we’ve created a one-of-a-kind showstopper that turns heads everywhere it goes.

SUN CITY ARIZONA THE COMMUNITY THAT STARTED IT ALL In our continuing series featuring America's premier golf cart communities, we explore Sun City, Arizona - the groundbreaking retirement destination that helped establish golf carts as essential vehicles for active adult living.
W
hen Del Webb opened Sun City, Arizona's first five model homes on January 1, 1960, he was embarking on a radical experiment. The concept was bold: create a master-planned retirement community built specifically for active adults, where residents could pursue leisure and recreation as their primary lifestyle. More than six decades later, that vision has not only succeeded—it has become the template for active adult communities worldwide. PIONEERING THE ACTIVE ADULT LIFESTYLE Sun City's innovative approach is designed for residents 55 and older who aren't ready to slow down. While affectionately known as the “City of Volunteers,” Sun City, AZ is not a city, but rather an unincorporated active adult community in Maricopa County. Recreation Centers of Sun City, AZ (RCSC) is a nonprofit, private corporation which owns and operates recreational and social facilities in Sun City. Services include: recreation centers, golf

courses, snack shops, bowling centers, restaurants (leased), an open-air amphitheater and ballfield, a dog park and a 33-acre man-made lake. The community spans 14 square miles of palm tree-lined streets and features specific amenities that were revolutionary for their time and continue to be utilized today. • Eight golf courses (five championship and three executive) managed by RCSC and three private golf courses within the region’s boundaries • Eight recreation centers with pools, fitness centers, and club/social spaces • Approximately 125 chartered clubs and special interest groups • Multiple venues for entertainment and cultural activities • Comprehensive medical facilities and services (independently managed) • Population of approximately 40,000 residents "Sun City Arizona is where aging is actually fun," as one resident described it. "In this community, retirees attend prom, join cheer squads, and shoot pool. This is not God's waiting room."
source,” said Abe Krumm from Pohle NV Center, a golf cart sales and service dealership in Sun City. “These new batteries handle the heat of Arizona better than any other option.”
WHERE GOLF CARTS BECAME ESSENTIAL Unlike communities that later adapted to golf cart usage, Sun City embraced these vehicles as integral to its lifestyle from early in its development. The community's design, with its network of golf courses and recreation centers, naturally accommodated golf cart transportation as residents moved between activities. Today, golf carts serve as primary transportation for many residents, connecting neighborhoods to the community's extensive recreational facilities. The vehicles have evolved far beyond their original golf course purpose to become personalized expressions of their owners' personalities and interests. The warm Arizona climate allows for yearround golf cart usage, making these vehicles practical transportation choices rather than seasonal conveniences. Many residents customize their carts with weather protection, upgraded seating, and personal touches that reflect their individual style. “The biggest change we’ve seen over the last 10 years has been the rapid growth of lithium as a power
EIGHT COURSES, ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES Golf remains a central attraction, with Sun City offering an unprecedented variety of courses within a single community. Each of the eight courses provides different challenges and experiences, allowing residents to play a different course every day of the week with one left over. The golf facilities include championship courses designed for serious play alongside more relaxed executive courses perfect for casual rounds. This variety ensures that golfers of all skill levels find appropriate challenges while maintaining the social aspects that make golf cart transportation so appealing. BEYOND GOLF: A COMPLETE LIFESTYLE While golf courses anchor the community, Sun City's appeal extends far beyond the fairways. The eight recreation centers buzz with activities ranging from fitness classes and swimming to arts and crafts, social clubs, and educational programs. POPULAR ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: • Swimming and aquatic fitness programs • Tennis and pickleball courts • Bowling at two dedicated centers • Arts and crafts studios • Social dancing and entertainment venues • Educational seminars and lifelong learning Many residents structure their days around multiple activities, using golf carts to move efficiently between morning fitness classes, afternoon social clubs, and evening entertainment—all within the community's boundaries. BUILDING CONNECTIONS THROUGH MOBILITY The golf cart culture in Sun City fosters the social connections that define successful active adult living. The slower pace and open-air nature of golf cart travel encourages interactions between neighbors, whether it's a quick wave on the path or stopping to chat about weekend plans. This connectivity extends to community events, where hundreds of customized golf carts might gather for parades, celebrations, or group outings. The vehicles become conversation starters and expressions of personality that help build the social bonds essential to community life. recreation centers," community materials note, and golf carts make it possible to discover just how active a "life of leisure" can be. SETTING THE STANDARD FOR ACTIVE ADULT LIVING Sun City's success helped establish the active adult community model that has been replicated across the country. The integration of golf carts into daily life wasn't planned as much as it evolved naturally from the community's design and residents' desire for convenient, social transportation. The community continues to attract new residents who are drawn to the combination of recreational opportunities, social connections, and lifestyle convenience that golf carts help facilitate. As one resident explained, "Picture an entire community designed around letting you do whatever you want to do, and be whomever you feel like being." In Sun City, that freedom often includes the simple pleasure of cruising palm-lined streets in a personalized golf cart, heading to the next adventure in a community where fun truly is the primary occupation.

ASK THE MECHANIC Q: My electric golf cart's batteries are fully charged, the solenoid clicks when I press the pedal, but the cart either doesn't move, moves very slowly, or "jerks" during acceleration. How can I diagnose if the motor controller is the problem? A: Diagnosing a golf cart controller issue typically involves ruling out other common problems first and then performing specific tests. Here's a breakdown: 1. Rule Out Other Common Issues (Pre-Checks): • Battery Voltage: Confirm all batteries and the total pack voltage are at their proper levels (e.g., 36V or 48V for the pack, and individual batteries around 6V or 8V). A weak battery can mimic controller issues. • Battery Cables and Connections: Inspect all battery cables for corrosion, tightness, and damage. Loose or corroded connections can cause significant voltage drops. • Solenoid Function: The "click" indicates the solenoid is likely engaging. However, you can use a voltmeter to check for full pack voltage across the large terminals of the solenoid when it clicks. If you don't get full voltage, the solenoid itself might be faulty or not making good internal contact. • Forward/Reverse (F&R) Switch: Ensure the F&R switch is fully engaged in the desired direction and that its contacts are clean. Sometimes a faulty F&R switch can prevent power from reaching the controller correctly. • Accelerator Pedal Switch/Potentiometer: Many carts have a microswitch or a potentiometer (ITS sensor or throttle sensor) linked to the accelerator pedal. A faulty switch might not signal the controller to start, or a bad potentiometer might send incorrect speed signals, leading to erratic movement or no movement at all. Test for continuity or proper voltage output as the pedal is pressed. • Motor Health (Basic Check): If you can, try to determine if the motor is seized or shorted. With the key off and F&R in neutral (or wheels off the ground), try to spin the motor by hand (if accessible). It should have some resistance but not be completely locked. A severely shorted motor can 52 www.GolfCarting.com
sometimes prevent the controller from working properly. 2. Controller-Specific Diagnostics (Requires a Multimeter): • Input Voltage to Controller: With the key on and the F&R switch in forward or reverse, check for full battery pack voltage at the main positive and negative input terminals of the controller. If no voltage, the issue is upstream (solenoid, main fuse, wiring). • Output Voltage from Controller to Motor (Advanced): This is the most direct test. • CAUTION: This involves working with high voltage and can be dangerous. Only proceed if you are comfortable and understand electrical safety. • With the cart safely jacked up (drive wheels off the ground) or on stands, engage the F&R switch. • Carefully place the positive lead of your voltmeter on the main output terminal of the controller (usually the one going directly to the motor's A1 or S1 terminal). Place the negative lead on the controller's main negative terminal or the battery pack's main negative. • Slowly press the accelerator pedal. A working controller should show a gradually increasing voltage as you press the pedal down. • What to look for: • No voltage output when pressing pedal: Strong indication of a faulty controller. • Full battery voltage immediately, even with slight pedal press: Could be a stuck controller output or a faulty throttle sensor sending a full-speed signal. • Erratic or fluctuating voltage output: Points to an internal controller issue. • Voltage output but no motor movement: This points more towards a motor issue or the cables between the controller and motor. • Diagnostic Codes (If Applicable): Some modern controllers have LED indicators that flash diagnostic codes, or they can be hooked up to specialized diagnostic tools (OEM or aftermarket) that read error codes. Consult your golf cart's service manual for specific procedures.
