THE GOLD STANDARD®

of Judging

Providing recognition and incentives by the way of awards to demonstrate excellence in the field of automotive restoration.

For Corvettes:

BENCHMARK®

America’s most prestigious Corvette award. Getting BENCHMARK® Certified documents the ultimate standard for unrestored vehicles. Our standards for authenticity and condition are simple but difficult. The goal is to attain historic perfection - not cosmetic perfection. Our highly qualified judges are known for their knowledge, courtesy and consistency for over 30 years. Gold Certification influenced the direction that organizations, collectors and our industry have followed ever since. To achieve BENCHMARK® status, an unrestored Corvette must attain GOLD CERTIFIED® and Silver or Gold SURVIVOR® in the same weekend.

GOLD CERTIFIED®

Friday, June 10 GOLD CERTIFIED® means that a Corvette has been “preserved in” or “restored to” within 95% of the way it appeared when it left the factory...no better, no worse, no different. A GOLD CERTIFIED® car appears as it would have just after completion of ‘Typical Factory Production’. This does not necessarily mean that a Bloomington Gold car is cosmetically perfect. Factory cars weren’t. Instead, historic accuracy is the goal. In short, every car left the factory qualified to receive a Gold Certificate. However, age, use, repair, and/or inaccurate restorations all take their toll. Therefore, unrestored original cars may do as well (or better) than inaccurately restored cars.

SURVIVOR® Certified

Saturday, June 11 SURVIVOR® recognizes Corvettes that have been preserved and highly unrestored. These Corvettes are “worn in but not worn out”.

Resto Mod Certified

Friday, June 10 Resto Mod recognizes the seamless integration of today’s possibilities into yesterday’s performers by applying today’s capabilities and styling enhancements that result in improved styling, handling, performance, and comfort to modern standards while retaining a classic original design. A Bloomington Gold Certified® Resto Mod is a Corvette that is modified more than 50% in all four of the following sections: engine, chassis, exterior and interior.

For more information, see BloomingtonGold.com/Judging Page 6

Camaro Gold Certified®

Friday, June 10 1st Generation Camaros will be judged using the same guidelines that are used for Corvettes: A Camaros Gold Certified® car appears as it would just after completion of “typical factory production.” It means that a Camaro has been preserved or restored within 95% of the way it appeared when it left the factory – no better, no worse, no different. Bloomington Gold’s standards for authenticity and condition are clear – the goal is to attain historic perfection, not cosmetic perfection.

Awards Ceremony

Saturday, June 11 @ Redbird Arena, 3:00pm

Owners Meeting

Friday, June 10th at 7:45am

Staging

Beginning Thursday, June 9th at 8:00am Redbird Arena will house most of the certification cars. Staging begins on Thursday, June 10th starting at 8:00 AM, second group at 10:00 AM and third group at 1:00 PM. Owners please plan accordingly when making travel arrangements for you and your car(s). By Bill Nichols Bloomington Gold Camaro Specialist

As you know, we are excited to be returning to the Bloomington/Normal Illinois location for this year and have an opportunity to conduct our 2nd year of 1st generation Camaro certification, as well as a limited number of Special Camaro’s in our Special Collection. There are three ways that Camaro owners can participate at the 2022 event, and here are the details on those:

1 2 3

Enter your car for certification judging: This will be our second year of Certification judging of Camaros with our Generation 1 Team. The judges include Larry Christensen, Dale Murphy, and Benny Pfieffer, all extremely experienced in the first-generation Camaros. The Bloomington Gold Certification is well recognized for its accuracy and completeness in the hobby. Click here for judging guidelines, and pertinent information to familiarize you with the Bloomington Gold Certification process. To Register for judging, click here to be taken to our web site. The fee to register your Camaro is $675. Camaro Special Collection Display: My team and I select a few outstanding or rare examples for static indoor display, throughout the show. There is no fee, and the award is recognition that you participated in our unique display. I am soliciting interested participants now and would hope to make our final selections and notification by mid-February. If you think that you have a Camaro that would qualify to be part of the 2022 display, please email details about the car as well as a photo or two of your Camaro including under the hood and the interior. Information should be sent to me at wrn63@att.net. General Participation in our Camaro Dedicated Parking, and display: We offer a dedicated Club parking for Camaros where owners can mingle among like-minded enthusiasts while they peruse the Swap meet vendors, or the vehicles being judged, or possibly participate in the Road Tour or the Driving School demonstrations. There is no charge other than the event entry fees.

If I can answer any further questions, regarding our Camaro event, please feel free to email me at wrn63@att.net or contact the Bloomington Gold office at info@bloomingtongold.com I look forward to seeing you June 10th and 11th. Sincerely, Bill Nichols

Support the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation with the 2022 Corvette Sweepstakes You Could be the NEW Owner of a 2023 Z06 with Z07 Performance Package CARLISLE, PA - The Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation raised more than $400,000 for Amyloidosis research and awareness in 2021. Dollars came from Corvette lovers, friends of Chip Miller, those affected by the disease and those with a kind heart from around the world. Now, the CMAF has an amazing new sweepstakes opportunity for 2022 as a means to further support the cause. Running now through 3pm on October 1, 2022 donations are being accepted for the third annual Corvette Sweepstakes. This time, the prize is the much talked about, highly sought after Corvette Z06. The Z06 is a 2023 AND includes the Z07 performance package. This amazing ride comes to the CMAF by way of Whitmoyer Auto Group of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania and will be a top-of-the-line performance car. The Z06 has been the most anticipated sports car of the year. It has the elegance and performance of a Corvette; with the style of a luxury car. Adorned in Red Mist Metallic, this may be your only chance to get one, as pre-orders are nearly sold out. Purpose-built for the track, but every bit a street machine, you’ll find a 670 HP V8 under the...trunk. Your donation could see you piloting the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 available, all while going from 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. What else makes this ride so amazing? How about wider fenders, quarter panels, and facia than the Stingray? Commanding meets functional with ground effects and rear high wing spoiler that optimizes aerodynamic drag and powertrain cooling efficiency. But wait, there’s more. There’s always more! It comes with replaceable spoiler wicker bills, rear brake cooling ducts, removable front fascia panel, and front underwing stall gurneys for increased downforce. This will help keep you ON the track as you blow past your competition. “With the ultimate Corvette, the C8, launching just a couple years ago, Chevrolet has outdone themselves once again with their all-new Z06,” noted CMAF president and Corvette enthusiast Lance Miller. “The performance of this vehicle will knock the socks off any car enthusiast and we are fortunate to lock in a Z06 build for this year’s Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation Corvette Sweeptstakes,” continued Miller. “One lucky person will win the choice of our Z06 build or the cash option ($75,000). You can’t go wrong with either one,” added Miller. “Please donate to this amazing cause and help us make a difference. My father passed in 2004 from this terrible disease and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of him.” Donation amounts vary for entry into the sweepstakes. The base option is $25 and yields 12 tickets. There are $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000, $1500 and $2500 options too. Each option includes exponentially more entries into the sweepstakes. The winning name will be drawn at 4:00pm on October 1, 2022. Enter today and not only secure a chance to WIN A 2023 Z06 Corvette, but to also help the CMAF raise funds and awareness! The chance to donate and get sweepstakes tickets, as well as details on all events supported by the CMAF can be found online at www.ChipMiller.org, or via social media and the CMAF Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/AmyloidosisAwareness.
