I may be biased, but the last weekend of June this year was definitely the best weekend of the Summer! I am sure that many of you will agree. The great weather added to the ambiance of the event and allowed attendees to thoroughly enjoy everything that Bloomington Gold has to offer. Everyone seems to have their own favorite part of Bloomington Gold and the Bloomington Gold staff has enjoyed discussing the 2016 event with everyone the past two months.
Before looking ahead to 2017, I want to first invite you to join us in Charlotte this October as a limited edition of Bloomington Gold participates at the All Chevy Car Show at the Hendrick Motor Sports Complex in Charlotte. We will have a very special Gold Collection as well as judging of 1963-1972 Corvettes. More information on Bloomington Gold Charlotte can be found later in the REView. For 2017, Bloomington Gold will return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway June 22-24 for another weekend of Corvettes, Fun and Speed! All vendors that participated in the 2016 Event and have their balance paid in full will have first choice of exhibit space until December 1st. HENDRICK MOTOR SPORT COMPLEX BLOOMINGTON GOLD IN CHARLOTTE? Yes! The rumors and speculations are true. A limited edition of Bloomington Gold Corvettes will be held in Charlotte October 14th & 15th, 2016. This limited edition version of Bloomington Gold will be held during the All Chevy Charity Car Show at the Hendrick Motor Sport Complex. This new, limited edition, show will be held in addition to Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA, which runs the last weekend in June in the Midwest. “Bloomington Gold Corvettes is the longest running all Corvette Show and even after 44 years, the interest and passion for the show continues to grow. So when we found the perfect opportunity to hold a second show in a different region of the country, it only made sense to run with it,� states Guy Larsen, President and owner. As mentioned, the Bloomington Gold Charlotte event will be held in conjunction with the Queen City All Chevy Charity Car Show, which is held on Saturday, October 15th and is put on by the Queen City Corvette Club and sponsored by Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet.

OCTOBER 14 & 15TH CERTIFICATION AND JUDGING Bloomington Gold is recognized world wide among car owners for its prestigious judging process of Corvettes and the authentication a Bloomington Gold Certification brings to a Corvette. Each of the cars on the judging field will be striving for anywhere between 1 and three different awards; Certification, Survivor and the much coveted Benchmark. They are competing against set standards and not each other. GOLD CERTIFICATON means that a Corvette has been preserved or restored within 95% of the way it appeared when it left the factory – no better, no worse, no different. SURVIVOR Corvette is significantly unrestored, unrepaired, or unmodified &meets these requirements: • Is over 20 years old • Can pass a road test over 10 miles • Retains OEM engine • Remains unrestored, un-refinished, or unaltered; Bloomington Gold will hold certification for 1963-1972 Corvettes in Charlotte. IS YOUR CORVETTE A SURVIVOR? Bloomington Gold’s SURVIVOR® Award is designed to recognize those Corvettes that are “worn in, but not worn out.” A SURVIVOR Corvette is significantly unrestored, unrepaired, or unmodified. In addition to passing judging, the car must be over 20 years old, pass a 10 mile road test and retain the OEM engine. The four components judged are the interior, the exterior, under the hood and the chassis. If your Corvette meets these requirements, we encourage you to read up on Bloomington Gold’s Survivor judging and register for certification in 2017! Note: While judging is open to all Corvette enthusiasts, it is recommended that anyone interested in having their Corvette judged to first visit the Bloomington Gold Web site so they become familiar with the judging process and guidelines. Also, be prepared! This is not a last minute decision to participate as it often takes months to prepare a car and registration fills up fast for some model age groups. Registration for 2017 opens February 15, 2017. For more information, download the various brochures that are located on the Bloomington Gold Web site under Classic Events.
