2017 SHOW HIGHLIGHTS As the 45th annual Bloomington Gold Corvette Show approaches, here are some of the highlights of the Show. With more than 30,000 people and 5,000 Corvettes in attendance over the three days, no wonder it is the Granddaddy of Corvette Shows! Daily- Gates Open each day at 8:00 am with daily events such as AutoCross & GoldLaps starting at 9:00 am. The Judging Field, Gold Collection and over 200 Corvette vendors are all open to the attendees starting right at 8:00 am. New this year! Anyone that signs up for Gold Laps will have the chance to Kiss the Bricks! See the track office for times.

DAILY EVENTS AS WELL AS: Survivor Road test- Watch these classic Corvettes take a spin on the track to prove their youth! Each Corvette going for Survivor Certification must take part of a road test at 10:00 am. Gold School with Paul KoernerC7 Diagnostics at 9:00 am and then the Not So Basic Info about Your Corvette at 1:00. Meet the Cars and Owners of the Gold Collection – 3:30 in the Gold Collection- Stop by and learn about the people and the cars behind the 1967 Gold Collection!
DAILY EVENTS AS WELL AS: On the Certification Field- Cars will be judged throughout the day on the Certification field. At 1:00 in the Gold Collection, Jerry Burton will present My 10 Most Memorable Moments. This is free and hosted by Hagerty. Or drop in for a Q & A with Paul Koerner and Art Spong. GoldMembers will enjoy dinner in the Pagoda Friday evening, Gold Member credentials are required to attend.
DAILY EVENTS AS WELL AS: The final day of a spectacular 3-day weekend will start with a very exciting day on the Judging field. Corvettes going for Survivor will be judged starting at 8:00 am followed by the Certification Awards Ceremony that is held on the historic yard of bricks at 3:00. GoldSchool- If you missed it Friday, you can catch John Kraman’s “Inside Auctions and the Corvette Market “ Saturday morning., then have your car consigned for sale at the Mecum auction trailer. Corvettes will start staging for the 2017 Gold Tour at 4:00 that ends with a block party in downtown Speedway! An event for everyone!!!

This year, Bloomington Gold is proud to pay tribute to and honor the 1967 Corvette through the Gold Collection, presenting the finest group of 1967 Corvettes ever brought together in one place at one time. For many Corvette enthusiasts, the 1967 Corvette is considered as THE PREMIER production year for the classic Corvette. Be sure to visit the 2017 Gold Collection on display this June 22-24 during the 45th annual Bloomington Gold Event. The Gold Collection will feature 40 very special ‘67 Corvettes, presented in these 4 groups: -The top performance 427 L88. Only 20 of these special “race-ready” Corvettes left St. Louis. Rated at 430 HP, the real number was closer to 550. You’ll see Corvettes that have competed at Daytona, Sebring and LeMans. - 427 Models: Offered in 3 horsepower ratings: 390, 400 and 435. You’ll see ultra-low mileage originals, Bloomington Gold Benchmark and NCRS winners, along with the rare L89 option - of which only 16 were built. - 327 Models: 1967 “small block” Corvettes are considered by many to be the best all-around driving mid-year Corvette. Especially those equipped with the L79 327/350 HP engine. - Special Production: Both 327 and 427 cars, these Corvettes were built by Chevrolet for North American Auto Shows; some were ordered by General Motors executives through what is termed “Central Office Production Order”, often referred to as a “COPO” Corvette. Also included will be cars built for export to Europe, and cars built with rare production options such as a 36 1/2 gallon gas tank (one of only two built in 1967). 22,940 Corvettes were built in the 1967 production year. The model represents the end of the 5-year run of the “mid-year”, from 1963 through 1967. The “GM Mark of Excellence” identification plate was placed in every door jam as part of GM’s new quality awareness program. BLOOMINGTON GOLD WILL RETURN TO CHARLOTTE THIS FALL! Join us in Charlotte this October for our second annual Bloomington Gold at Hendrick Motorsport, joined by Queen City Corvette Club. This second event will be held Friday & Saturday October 13 & 14th in Concord, NC. This show will be held in addition to Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Like last year, the event will offer certification of Corvettes for owners that are unable to make the event in Indy, or perhaps their cars wouldn’t be ready for judging by June.
