In our February Issue we explore and celebrate Fashion week across the globe. As many designers are looking for more and more engaging and interesting ways they can approach their shows, we keep our eyes on the main digital events this year at Paris, Milan, London and New York Fashion Week. Some fashion houses inluding but not limited to Gucci and Givenchy, have decided to opt out of traditional bi - annual runway show, and have thus decided to join the new wave of sustainability designers. The following pages explore the main trends which took the digital world by storm at SS21 and ultimately paved the way for the exciting work of the designers for the AW21 fashion weeks which will continue in our March issue. Happy New Year! Deyvid Dimitrov Editor

THREE COZY AND STYLISH OUTFIT IDEAS THIS WINTER

Written by Jessica-Rose Janes

1 2020 was a tough year for everyone, so here is to hoping that 2021 will be a much happier and more stylish year, ditch your lockdown pajamas now and get in on the new trends this winter to feel a happier and more confident you. 12

Jumper dresses and large coats which are a huge trend right now, and a must-have staple in your wardrobe, simply pair a bright orange skin-tight maxi slit dress to accentuate your figure with a large chocolate brown faux fur coat for a bold statement look. This is perfect for all body types, to style up the outfit more add your choice of knee-high leather boots or suede sock boots if you prefer, and a small handbag and beret hat to finish off the look. This look can be worn with or without tights depending on your preference, however, without tights, the combination of a jumper dress with a slit in the leg and faux fur coat will keep you looking classy, sexy, and still warm ready for the day out.

Loungewear is a particularly new trend that everyone is wearing right now simply because loungewear is warm and comfortable. So, the question is what person does not want to be as warm and comfortable as possible and still be able to look stylish even on a walk to the park with a friend? For a perfect loungewear look pair a bold white tracksuit with your favorite pair of trainers and a

14

white cropped puffer coat to tie the look together, also add your choice of handbag or tote to finish it off. This look will be perfect if you are looking for a more casual but still stylish outfit to wear even on your day-to-day errands, or taking a walk with a friend in a famous park in London.

3

If you are a fan of all black and love to add just a pop of color to your outfit, then this next look will be perfect for you. You can dress this look up or down by wearing comfortable sock boots with a block or stiletto heel of your choice, for an even more casual look you can also pair this outfit with some trainers. The green faux fur maxi coat contrasts well with the black leather joggers, and black tur-

tleneck puff sleeve organza top, making it the perfect statement coat you need, keeping you warm and looking stylish and all attention on you.

#LFWRESET

London Fashion Week branded as the LFW Reset this season will take place from the 19th of Feb to the 23rd of Feb, featuring both womenswear and menswear collections promoted as a genderless showcase. A digital fashion week, which similarly to the few previous seasons will be streamed all over social media and will feature numerous digital films, runways and still images. Fashion week however, is changing. Is it dead? Perhaps social media took the veil of the industry to uncover the high fashion world, allowing anyone to have access to the virtual show in real life, which in turn made it less glamorous or desired to even attend a show. Add the pandemic to the equation and we might never experience fashion week the same way like we once used to. And although these might sound like very dark and gloomy news, looking at it from a different perspective, less fashion week attendees, and less designers,

16

means that we are closer than ever to becoming sustainable, something unthinkable for the times right before the pandemic struck. Fashion houses like Gucci and Saint Laurent announced that they will no longer follow the schedules of 2 fashion shows a year, and cruise shows, but will instead focus on creating more meaningful pieces, and in this sense they are calling for brands to only participate in fashion week if they have a message to share. Below you will find the provisional line-up for #LFWRESET

THE TOP

5

Designers ON OUR WATCH LIST IN 2021

While many designers decided to write 2020 off their calendar completely and scrapped runways and collections altogether, there were a few front runners, who despite the adversities created very personal collections which were able to speak to a newer broader audience. Here we are celebrating those new designers who succesfully launched their careers over the past few months, and it is a reminder that you should too follow them on their wonderful journey.

18

1. S. S. Daley. The BA Fashion graduate from Westminster University was launched into the industry by having some of his graduate collection pieces worn in a music video by one of the biggest male celebrity artists currently - Harry Styles. It was Steven Daley’s graduate collection and London Fashion Week debut last spring, but he has already been recognised, and with big clients making their first orders, we can see how this will be a big hit in 2021.

20

2. Chopova Lowena. A relatively young brand which is all about authenticity and has successfully mixed traditional Bulgarian motifs with British punk rock, to land in the perfect spot between streetwear and the underground culture. With elaborate dresses and skirts, and high attention to detail Chopova Lowena is on track to showcase another breathtaking collection - authentic, colourful, and full of history.

21

3. Thebe Magugu. Thebe Magugu is an inspiring young designer based in South Africa. The brand produces the perfect mixture of modern, forward thinking, with the traditional and African culture. The SS21 gave us a history lesson alongside the short film and the new collection, which only sets our hopes higher for AW21.

22

23

4. Lisou.

Silk. This is a brand all about silk, known for its bright standout colours and hand-drawn patterns. They are beautiful and unique, with bold cuts and eccentric designs. And with press, media, and the major London department stores backing this designer up, her formula is paved for success.

24

25

5. Voranida. With feminine silhouettes and utilitarian designs Voranida excels in creating strong sculptural pieces for the modern city woman. A contemporary brand with an experimental approach, Voranida focuses its attention on the detail as well as the concept.

OUR FAVOURITE TRENDS FOR SPRING / SUMMER 2021

The pandemic has affected the way that designers approach their collections, and where until very recently we would be talking about the attitude and the glam, we now discuss the distance and the lack of human touch. This has reflected in the style and the trends for this Spring Summer, fabrics are looser, with more drapes, waving in the air freely as you walk past creating a new dynamic. Jacquemus SS21

48

1

Toned down pink.

A healthy balance between eccentric hot pink and washed out pastel, this pink will reappear and shapeshift through our wardrobes and many of our favourite outfits, not just in spring and summer, but even throughout Winter. And it is not just pink, think about the tennis ball colour, that weird off yellow, dragged through fake painted grass type of yellow, yep and add orange to the mixture, you got yourself a holy trinity of 2021. If this cannot slay the virus we don’t know what would.

Bottega Veneta Valentino

Missoni

2

Leather everything.

This precious material has returned mainly in its vegan substitute (woohoo) and it is being used by designers to reimagine our everyday wear, from shirts, to skirts, to trousers and long trench coat. Black has never looked better, and this leather look is here to stay around for the long run.

Monochromatic clash - black and white.

We have been seeing the monochrome trend linger around since 2019. This season however, instead of outfits built in one colour, we have outfits predominantly dresses, jackets, and skirts, featuring a mixture of black and white. Oftentimes this comes in very relaxed fits, with simple silhouettes, and a signature bag as the ultimate accessory.

51

4

Yellow bags.

With everyone staying at home more often than not, one could ask themselves if they even need a handbag. Yellow is always fun, so yes, yes, you do need a bag. In fact, get a few, the main trend is that bags are slightly smaller on average than the previous season, yellow, some have a fringe, while others are cylindrical and can carry just about your water bottle (branded obviously.)

The little black dress reimagined.

The return no one expected but everyone secretly wished for seasons to come back - the little black dress. With more time on their hands, the designers being a bit more adventurous added the so - called ’floss’ which is basically thin cords and wraparounds the body which show up and disappear under the garment’s new cuts revealing our not-so-toned lockdown body.
