Free Community Capacity Building Training workshops for Golden Plains Shire residents begin on Tuesday 25 July with the first session titled, Putting Out the Welcome Mat. Putting Out the Welcome Mat is about providing an opportunity for people to learn new techniques on engaging with different groups and people. The workshop will also equip people with skills to foster inclusivity and embrace change.
The session will be held from 10am to 12.30pm in the Council Chambers at Golden Plains Civic Centre, 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn.
The first Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Golden Plains Shire has recently opened outside the Meredith Sharing Shed.

The charging station features a fast-charging unit that can fully charge a vehicle in 30 to 40 minutes at approximately 30 cents per kilowatt/hour resulting in a cost of approximately $30 to charge one vehicle. The unit can accommodate two vehicles, however the charge time will increase.
The charging station was funded under the Victorian Government’s Destination Charging Across Victoria Program.
Council has partnered with Non Profit Training (NPT) to deliver five Community Capacity Building Training workshops, with each session exploring a different topic in relation to Community Capacity Building.

The program will run from Tuesday 25 July until Tuesday 12 March, 2024. All workshops are free and will be available either in-person, online or both.
