Golden Plains Shire Council is inviting the community to submit Expressions of Interest for participation in its Advisory Committees; Arts, Culture & Heritage Advisory Committee, and Active Ageing & Inclusion Advisory Committee.
This is an exciting opportunity for community members to engage directly with local issues and play a vital role in shaping the future of our Shire.
We encourage individuals from all backgrounds and expertise to submit their Expression of Community members have been enjoying views from the new Lethbridge Lake Boardwalk following completion of an upgraded structure on the north-west end of the lake.
The new boardwalk replaced the former ageing, wooden structure and features Fibre Reinforced Polymer decking with concrete footings and concrete approaches installed on the embankments.
The boardwalk is 57 metres in length and 1.5 metres wide and also features a 3 metre by 2 metre central viewing platform to allow visitors to access a full view of Lethbridge Lake.
Interest to ensure a diverse representation within these important Advisory Committees.
By joining Council Committees, you can make a meaningful impact, influence the design and delivery of community initiatives and programs while identifying advocacy issues.

The new structure is raised significantly higher than the lakebed to allow for seasonal variations in the water levels. Council has also recently completed the installation of guardrails to enable safe, year-round community use.
Council contributed $95,000 to the $275,000 joint funded project, with the Federal Government providing $180,000 under its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure stream.
The new boardwalk connects to the established path network and complements other open space infrastructure including picnic furniture, shelters and a fishing pontoon.
