Golden Plains Shire Council has partnered with Geelong Regional Libraries to deliver an Arts Workshop Series where a group of local Golden Plains Shire artists will explore six different art forms.
The program will include a series of six workshops where each artist will have the opportunity to share their distinctive expression of art and assist residents in connecting with their own creative potential. The program will run from Tuesday 28 March until Tuesday 12 December, 2023.
All workshops are free and will take place at the Bannockburn Library, 25-27 High Street, Bannockburn.
Site preparation work has begun at Meredith Recreation Reserve for construction of the new Meredith Multi Playspace.
This exciting community-driven project includes an upgrade of the existing skate park, the development of a new BMX track, a new playspace and installation of pathways, seating, shelter and landscaping.
With the support of Golden Plains Shire Council, local residents have driven the project with extensive advocacy to their local member and within the media, successfully obtaining State Government funding.
Session dates include: Tuesday 28 March, Saturday 29 April, Saturday 1 July, Saturday 2 September, Tuesday 31 October and Tuesday 12 December.

The workshops are designed to increase activity, participation and membership at Bannockburn Library, while facilitating employment opportunities for local artists within the Shire.
Set up and demolition of the site has begun and BMX track works, the skate park upgrade, playspace and additional works will follow, with the project expected to be completed in late-May 2023.

The Meredith Multi Playspace is a partnership project funded by $420,000 from the Victorian Government and $253,000 from Golden Plains Shire Council.
