Golden Plains Shire Council is calling on young musicians aged 12 to 25 years to participate in the Golden Plains Youth Battle of the Bands competition presented by the FReeZA Youth Events crew on Saturday 26 August, 2023.

Open to all young people aged 12 to 25, the Battle of the Bands is a showcase of young up-andcoming artists, inclusive of all genres, with bands, soloists, duo performances and digital artists all welcome to register.
The youth-led event is presented by the FReeZA Youth Events Crew, with support from Council’s Youth Development Team, and is designed to support emerging musicians by providing a safe and inclusive opportunity to perform in front of a live audience.
Young musicians, bands and digital artists are invited to register to perform at the event which will be held at the Inverleigh Public Hall, 71 High Street, Inverleigh from 1 to 5pm on Saturday 26 August, 2023.
FReeZA is a Victorian Government funded initiative based on a youth participation model where young people lead the planning, development and delivery of music, cultural and recreational events in their local community.
Performers can complete the Expression of Interest online until Friday 9 June at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultations or hard copies of the can be collected from Council’s Customer Hubs at 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn and 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.

Golden Plains Shire Council’s Draft Budget 2023/24 (Draft Budget) was endorsed for public exhibition by Council and is on display until Monday 29 May 2023.
Council is asking the community to share their views on the Draft Budget 2023/24 before the final version is presented to Council for adoption at its 27 June meeting.

Written or online submissions may be lodged by 9am, Monday 29 May 2023 and people can present their submission at a Council meeting on Tuesday 6 June at Golden Plains Civic Centre, 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn

The Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants will open at 9am on Thursday 1 June until 2pm, Friday 30 June. Delivered in partnership with Berrybank Development Pty Ltd, the Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Program provides funding opportunities to support local community, business and tourism events and projects in Golden Plains Shire.
Applicants will be eligible to apply for grant funding in two categories:
• Economic Development and Tourism projects and events
• Community projects and events, with one off and recurring funding available
Golden Plains Shire Council recognises the critical role grants play in strengthening our community by supporting local community groups and business organisations to deliver worthwhile
projects, programs and events to the community.
