The Victorian Government is partnering with Golden Plains Shire Council to deliver a multimillion-dollar pipeline of early childhood infrastructure projects, giving local children access to world-class facilities close to home.
On Tuesday 12 September, Minister for Early Childhood Education and Pre-Prep Ingrid Stitt announced a Building Blocks Partnership with Golden Plains Shire, which includes up to $5 million for two modular kindergarten projects, creating up to 140 new places for local children to attend kindergarten.

Golden Plains Shire Council is offering in-person Mental Health First Aid training for eligible community members, with Expressions of Interest (EOI) now open for those who want to earn their mental health first aid accreditation.
Conducted by Digging Deeper, the course requires a subsidised fee of $25 for participants. The program consists of a eLearning module and a face-to-face group session.

Haddon Pre-School Centre, and an expansion of the sessional kindergarten facilities at the Bannockburn Family Services Centre. These two projects are in addition to the delivery of a new kindergarten to open at Napoleons Primary School next year.
Council would like to thank the Victorian Government for their ongoing support and these funding commitments which create additional kindergarten places and will benefit the many young families in Golden Plains Shire.
WISER DRIVER PROMOTES SAFETY
Council is thrilled to partner with VicRoads and Hawthorn Community House to deliver the second round of the Wiser Driver Program that will run as part of Seniors Festival activities throughout October 2023.
Wiser Driver is a four-week refresher course to upgrade road knowledge and build on experience to help older drivers drive safely.
