ふうげつ 同天 どうてん（2026）

飛鳥時代から奈良時代初期にかけての皇族であった長屋王（676 年または 684 年-729
年）は、仏教の教えを通して平和を実現しようと願い、高名な僧侶を日本に派遣してもら うため、千着の袈裟を唐に贈りました。それぞれの袈裟には、以下の漢詩が刺繍されてい たと言われています。（現代日本語訳監修: 李 軍 宮崎大学准教授）
山川異域 山や川は国によって異なりますが（日本と中国は離れていますが）、
風月同天 風も月も同じ空の下にあります（自然の風物は同じです）。
諸仏子寄 同じ仏教徒である皆様に（この袈裟を）お贈りします。
共結来縁 未来へと続くご縁を結べることを願っております。
この詩に感銘を受けた鑑真（688 年頃-763 年）は、長屋王の死後である 753 年、視力を 失いながらも 6 度目の挑戦で日本にたどり着き、759 年に唐招提寺を開山しました。
本作は、数種類の五音音階を用いて作曲された、小規模な交響詩です。冒頭のファゴッ トソロは、詩吟の旋律を模倣しています。終結部では、上記の漢詩と相通ずる旧約聖書の 一節「見よ、兄弟が共に座っている。なんという恵み、なんという喜び。」（詩篇 133:1） に基づいた旋律が、月明かりを思わせる背景の中で奏でられます。
初演は、2026 年 2 月 21 日、米国・アイオワ州アイオワシティにおいて、作曲者自身の 指揮、アイオワ大学コンサートバンドにより行われました。

Yuichi Ura
Prince Nagaya (676 or 684-729) of Japan wished to achieve peace through the teachings of Buddhism and sent a thousand Buddhist monastic robes to China, requesting that renowned monks be sent to Japan. It is said that each robe was embroidered with the following Chinese poem. (English translation by the composer.)

Inspired by this poem, the Chinese monk Jianzhen (c. 688-763), after the death of Prince Nagaya, attempted to cross the sea six times before finally arriving in Japan in 753. It was a difficult journey, and he lost his sight along the way.
This is a tone poem composed using several types of pentatonic scales. The opening bassoon solo imitates the melody of traditional Japanese shigin(poetic recitation). In the final section, a melody based on one of the most beautiful passages in the Bible, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1), is played against a background reminiscent of moonlight.
This piece is dedicated to the University of Iowa Bands as a token of our friendship and was premiered by the University of Iowa Concert Band on February 21, 2026.
Regarding the opening solo, if there are unavoidable circumstances, it is permissible to omit part or all of it.
浦 雄一（Yuichi Ura）
1983 年広島市生まれ。広島学院中学校在籍中より作曲を学ぶ。武蔵野音楽大学作曲学科 卒業後、渡米。セントクラウド州立大学大学院修士課程器楽指揮専攻およびアイオワ大 学大学院博士課程管弦楽指揮専攻修了。音楽芸術博士（D.M.A.）。作曲を若尾裕、若尾 久美、坂幸也、リビー・ラーセンの各氏に師事。第 26 回国際芸術連盟作曲コンクール 第 3 位ほか、受賞歴多数。近作に『Three Movements for Clarinet』『弦楽三重奏曲』 など。2026 年 7 月現在、宮崎大学教育学部准教授、宮崎市消防団音楽隊楽長。
Dr. Yuichi Ura has been teaching composition and conducting at the University of Miyazaki, a national university in southern Japan, since 2012. He also serves as Music Director of the Miyazaki City Fire Brigade Band. Originally from Hiroshima, Dr. Ura holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Iowa. His former composition mentors include Prof. Yu Wakao, Ms. Kumi Wakao, Prof. Koya Ban and Dr. Libby Larsen. Dr. James M. David has served as advisor on recent compositional endeavors. (July 2026)
