WHEN - 24TH APRIL, 2021

WHERE - CEREMONY AND RECEPTION AT HAMILTON ISLAND YACHT CLUB ON THE DAY AFTER HELENE’S 50TH BIRTHDAY.

FIRST MEETING – Charles and Helene met at Domani’s Restaurant in Main Beach on Melbourne Cup Day in 2015 on the insistence of their mutual friend, Jenni Purdy, who thought they would be good together.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS – Helene –

“I remember thinking how tall he was and I also liked his cheeky smile and bright blue eyes.” Charles – “I was struck by her big smile and beautiful looks.”

WHAT YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT

EACH OTHER – Helene – “We have such fun together and laugh all the time plus he is very loyal and gives me his unwavering support at all times.” Charles – “Beside the laughs and fun times, I love her family values and great loyalty to her friends and family.”

THE PROPOSAL – Charles proposed when the couple was in Dubai on the way home from a European trip. On the pretence of looking at jewellery, Charles managed to get Helene into a store where he had secretly organised an engagement ring. He had the ring brought out with other items she was looking at and then when she saw it, he popped the question. Helene had no idea it was going to happen and everyone in the store clapped and applauded when she said ‘Yes’.

THE BRIDE – Helene’s gown was an ivory crepe and lace gown by Grace Loves Lace in Burleigh Heads with Aquazzura shoes.

THE GROOM – Charles was dressed in a Hugo Boss navy jacket, long sleeve shirt and MMX light blue chinos, all from John Forsyth for Men.

THE WALTZ – The bridal waltz was the Donna Summer song ‘The Last Dance’.

HONEYMOON – Qualia for 4 fabulous nights of relaxation. We were planning to take the girls (Hannah and Charlie) to Europe if we eloped but due to COVID-19 we kept it local, this way we could invite all our family and closest friends.

WITNESSES –

Helene’s daughter Hannah and Charles’s daughter Charlie.
