Our Pastor
Pastor Scott is a South Florida native. He and his wife, Raquel, have led Journey Church since 2003 when God called them to step out of the business world and plant a church where people can experience God's love, truth, and grace and be transformed to live and love like Jesus.
What started as a beach volleyball small group in their home has now become a movement, impacting thousands of people across multiple locations in South Florida.
Pastor Scott is happily married to his wife, Raquel, and they are the proud parents of two boys, Scotty and Tommy.
Church Leadership
Believers who invest their lives in a local church deserve to have confidence in church leadership.
People are looking for leaders who conduct themselves with integrity and respect when making decisions that a ect their lives.
OUR CHURCH IS:
Guided by our Pastors
The Pastoral Team is led by Scott Baugh, who is the founding and Lead Pastor. Pastor Scott is responsible for casting vision, guiding our culture, and serving as the primary communicator for the weekend services. Journey’s Pastoral team oversees the day-to-day ministry and operations of the church. These sta pastors serve the congregation and are responsible for developing the church's spiritual life.
Protected by our Board
The board consists of members of the congregation appointed by the Pastoral sta . They provide counsel to the Lead Pastor regarding the legal and financial commitments of the church.
Equipped by our sta
The sta exists to equip, empower, and resource the congregation to engage in ministry. (Eph. 4:11-12)
OUR MISSION:
We exist to transformed love like Jesus.
to see lives transformed to live & Jesus.
OUR VISION:
Where there is no vision, people perish - Proverbs 29:18
#1 Experience God
Whether you’re new to the faith, have questions, or have been a Christ follower for a long time, our weekend services are a safe place to learn more and encounter God. We believe in a God who desires a personal relationship with us, who can be experienced, not just understood.
#2 Find Freedom
We believe that life change happens in the context of relationships. God created us to live together in community. Groups provide a place to connect, protect, and grow with others. Getting connected through groups is one of the best ways you can find true freedom.
#3 Discover Your Purpose
Our Discover experience is designed to help you discover and develop your God-given purpose so that you can live the full life God created for you.
#4 Make a Di erence
God created all of us to make a di erence in the world around us. Through the Journey Dream Team, we hope to connect every person to an opportunity to live out their calling by using their God-given gifts to serve others in the church and community.
OUR VALUES:
Growth
We get better and make it better. We pursue internal health over external growth. We make Christ-likeness primary and leadership secondary.
Positivity
We are glass-half-full kind of people. We have a “get to,” not a “have to” attitude. We are fun and have fun.
Humility
We are humble servants, not prideful “rock stars.” We engage and equip leaders. We are part of something bigger than the part we play.
Relationships
We use systems to serve relationships. We honor each other. We create AWE (Authentic/Warm/Excellent) environments.
WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?
Life
We believe life is not all about us. We believe everything was created by God and for His purposes. All of life is His story. When we find our place in the story and begin to live life as He originally intended – in union with Him – we are elevated to a new understanding of what it means to be fully alive and experience the abundant life about which Jesus spoke.
Proverbs 4:23, 21:21; Matthew 16:25; Mark 8:36; John 8:12, 11:25-26, 14:6; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 5:15-16.
The Church
We believe the Church was God’s idea and is a community of believers, not a building. It was designed by God to be the representation of Jesus Christ on earth. The church exists to love God, to make Him known to a lost world, and to accomplish His will on earth.
We believe that all people need salvation from the eternal consequences of sin. We believe that forgiveness of sin only results from putting our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (the Son of God) as payment for our past, present, and future sins. We believe that anyone can access the grace – only God can give – to believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, thus restoring a person’s relationship with God for all eternity.
We believe the entire Bible to be the Word of God. We believe the Holy Spirit inspired men to write the scriptures and the scriptures in their original form are without error.
Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalms 89, 105, 119:11; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39, 16:13-15, 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 3:16
The Trinity
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct, eternal, and unchanging persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe each to be equal in power and authority but di erent in function.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1; Matthew 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 1:35; John 5:21-23; John 14:10, 16; Romans 8:9-11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:8-10; James 2:19

CHURCH FINANCES:
Tithes and o erings are meant to worship Jesus and express the relationship between the individual giver and the Lord. That is why we don’t have people fill out pledge cards or make faith promises. Funds are not “income only”; they are worship and not considered a business transaction but an expression of gratitude toward God.
Our Commitment
Many people love to give to God; as they do, they want to feel confident in the organization through which they give. Our commitment is to steward the freely given resources with honesty and integrity and reflect God's generosity within our community and worldwide.
Tithes
The tithe (or tenth) is a principle we find throughout God’s word. Tithing is giving God the first 10% of our income/labor to support Christ’s Body, the church, and for furtherance of the gospel. Tithing is a simple act of worship that reflects God’s generosity and reminds us that EVERYTHING we have belongs to God, and tests our hearts to trust in Him for ALL OUR NEEDS.
Deuteronomy. 14:22-26 (MSG)
Make an o ering of ten percent, a tithe, of all the produce which grows in your fields year after year. Bring this into the Presence of God, your God, at the place he designates for worship and there eat the tithe from your grain, wine, and oil and the firstborn from your herds and flocks. In this way, you will learn to live in deep reverence before God, your God, as long as you live.
O erings
An o ering is giving over and above the tithe to fulfill a specific need or THANK God for what he has done.
Proverbs 3:9-10 (NLT)
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
Gift of Giving
The gift of giving is a spiritual gift that God gives to some people (Romans 12:8). It is a Spirit-given capacity and desire to serve God by giving of your material resources, far beyond the tithe, to further the work of God.
We serve children from newborns all the way through 5th grade! Our goal is for kids to develop a passion for Jesus through an intentional experience tailored to their age.
Preschoolers: Birth - Pre-K
We create a place where they feel safe and loved so that they can begin to take the first steps in their faith journey. Each Sunday, preschoolers experience worship, biblical teaching, activities supporting the lesson, and crafts reinforcing what they have learned.
Elementary Kids: K - 5th Grade
We build a strong, centered foundation while having fun. We do this by teaching about who God is and what He has done in the Bible. Each Sunday, Elementary kids are part of a small group of same-age peers with a consistent leader each week. They experience worship and an engaging bible story, which is then reinforced through hands-on activities within their small group.
