Headmistress' Letter Dear Parents, There is much to celebrate in this our final newsletter of the academic year 2020/21. Workshop week in main school went brilliantly with all the girls off timetable and able to enjoy a wonderful mix of trips, sports, music, mindfulness, performances, sleepovers and much, much more. In Lodge the last full week of term saw all the children thankfully back in school and able to celebrate all of their achievements too. Transition enjoyed a farewell tea and are now well on their way to becoming Form I girls.
Summer Term July, 2021
Both of our guest speakers inspired us with their thoughts about resilience, tenacity and managing change as well as caring for our planet. I know that the girls took away some strong and inspiring messages. Standing on the stage and looking around the marquee I felt so proud of Godstowe and the way that we have all worked together to reach the end of the year in such a positive way ...dare I say it, but it began to feel normal! On that note we shall, of course, be in touch over the summer about plans for September in the light of Government guidance. The final thing for me to do before signing off is to wish you all a wonderful summer. I look forward to welcoming everyone safely back in September.
Our short end of term week also went well and we were delighted to be able to welcome parents to Perriss Knight Awards as well as to the Lower School Prizegiving and Final Assembly, and then on Tuesday, the Upper school Prizegiving.

Lodge

It has been lovely to see the children back in school this week. We have enjoyed many activities in our year group bubbles, as well as having a socially distanced picnic on Tuesday for the whole of Lodge, complete with ice lollies.
Transition have had opportunities to visit Main School this week, in preparation for their move to Form I in September. They had lunch in the dining room, made cakes in the Food Tech room and visited the library and Sick Bay. They also enjoyed finding out about honey bees from the Wycombe Bee Keepers Association. Kindergarten children have completed their Maths topic on time and enjoyed making their own clocks in DT, to support the practical activities
Beginners, Kindergarten and Transition have all competed in their year group Sports Days, and we have seen some fantastic achievements on the field. It was also lovely to see the children supporting their peers and congratulating each other. Kindergarten and Transition were thrilled to see the Dress Rehearsal of 'High School Musical' on Tuesday - how wonderful to experience some live theatre once again, especially some talented Godstowe girls!
in the lessons. On Friday Beginners, Kindergarten and Transition were able to meet their new teachers in preparation for next term. We finished our term on Monday with our PK Awards, a welcome opportunity to congratulate the children on their hard work and resilience this year, and we were pleased that parents were able to share in this opportunity. We hope that all of Lodge have an enjoyable and relaxing summer break.
Inter-House Music Competition Results
UIIIB Charity Gifts
On Tuesday May 11th, the Inter House Music Competition (Music Waves) was launched and entries Our UIIIB class this year closed on Friday 11th June allowing students to decided that as a form they submit videos of themselves performing a piece or wanted to donate money to composition of their choice in groups or solos. There others who are less fortunate were a wide range of performances, all of very high than them. Read more here. standard and the results were very close. Read more here.
