Resident Boarding Assistant We require an enthusiastic and efficient Assistant to join us. This is a full-time role, with most weekend and evening work included in the weekly rota. Holidays are generous and as part of the remuneration, we offer free meals during term-time and the option of accommodation in the Boarding House. Salary is paid monthly. The role presents an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to immerse themselves in the environment of an outstanding educational institution – many of our previous Boarding Assistants have progressed their careers in education and boarding. If you have a professional outlook and a can-do attitude coupled with a good sense of humour, as well as a caring and supportive personality, we would welcome your application. Previous experience of having looked after children will be an advantage. Full training will be given in all aspects of the safeguarding of children, health & safety and our IT systems. This post is restricted to female applicants, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Key Responsibilities Duties include the following: Organising and running an activity after school each week Helping with Boarders' laundry Supervising mealtimes Supervising Boarders in the morning and at bedtime in the evenings Assisting with medical wellbeing Weekend duties may include: Participating and assisting in weekend activities Possible escort to Church with House staff Supervising use of computer and email facilities General support and supervision as necessary and following rotas General care for the welfare and supervising of Boarders Supervising and supporting with prep The above is not a comprehensive statement of procedures and tasks but sets out the main expectations of the school in relation to the post. Boarding Assistants are required to remain flexible and may be asked to undertake different tasks during the course of the academic year.


About the role Child Protection All members of staff are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children. All members of staff are required to participate in regular child protection training and to follow the child protection policy at all times. Any child protection issues must be referred to the designated person for child protection and/or the Headmistress. Hours Full-time during the School's Term time. Start Date 19th April 2023 (or as soon as possible thereafter) Salary £16,500 per annum, without accommodation £10,558 per annum, with accommodation


About you Educated to at least GCSE grade 4 standard or equivalent in English and Maths Qualifications and Experience Experience of working with children/young people in an environment to support learning Ability to build and form good relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues Strong verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils, parents/carers and other professionals Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities (including own) Skills and Knowledge Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills Ability to use a range of ICT packages and equipment effectively to support learning Ability to absorb and understand a wide range of information Ability to improve own practice/knowledge through selfevaluation and learning opportunities A diplomatic and patient approach Able to appropriately deal with confidential information/situations Able to follow direction from line manager Ability to show initiative and to prioritise one's own work and meet required deadlines Personal Qualities

Efficient and meticulous in organisation Desire to enhance and develop skills and knowledge through CPD Commitment to the highest standards of child protection and safeguarding Recognition of the important of personal responsibility for health and safety Commitment to the school's ethos, aims and its whole community
