Western Kentucky University – Owensboro to sponsor June Rooster Booster The WKU-O campus began with 82 students that met in only face-to-face classes. Today WKU-O has more than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students. WKU-O has experienced a 48% enrollment growth since 2008. Classes meet face-to-face, via interactive television, Internet and web-based, correspondence, and independent studies. WKU-O currently offers 27 bachelor’s degrees. Only offering upper-division courses, WKU-O typically services transfer students who have met lowerlevel, general education requirements. For this reason, Joint Admissions agree-

ments have been established with area Kentucky Community & Technical College systems, allowing for a seamless transition to a bachelor’s degree. WKU-O is dedicated to helping members of this community extend their associate degree and pursue a fouryear degree. Higher education is very affordable when students complete their associate degree at an area community college and their bachelor’s degree at WKU-O. But more than just providing students with a degree, WKU-O strives to provide students with degrees that meet the workforce development needs of the community.

WKU-O is dedicated to helping members of this community extend their associate degree and pursue a four-year degree.

LET US TAKE YOU THERE IN STYLE,

WKU football coach Bobby Petrino to speak at June Rooster Booster From the cover

Petrino becomes only the eighth WKU head coach since 1948, taking over a program that had its first-ever bowl game appearance in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, and coming off backto-back seven-win seasons. In his eight seasons as a collegiate head coach with Louisville and Arkansas, Petrino led his teams to a bowl game in seven of the eight years, including four 10-win seasons, leading both the Cardinals and the Razorbacks to their first BCS bowl games in school history. Petrino guided Arkansas and Louisville to top-10 finishes nationally three different times, including finishing

the 2006 and the 2011 seasons ranked fifth in the Associated Press poll. The Bobby Petrino File:
