At the annual celebration of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce membership on Friday, Januar y 35, 2016, six chamber members will be recognized as Business Members of the Year. The 2016 Chamber Celebration, presented by Owensboro Health, will begin at 6 pm and all Chamber members, business leaders and community members are encouraged to attend. The celebration will feature a reception, presented by Atmos Energy at 6 pm at the RiverPark Center. A short program, in Cannon Hall at 7 pm, will recognize the recipients of the Business of the Year Award programs, sponsored by US Bank Home Mortgage, in six categories. Awards will also be

Mattingly, Payne to give ‘State of the Community’ addresses at January 7 Rooster Booster Daviess County Judge Executive Al Mattingly and City of Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne will make their “State of the Community” addresses at theJanuary 7 Rooster Booster breakfast. A large crowd is expected for this annual event. Daviess County Fiscal Court and the City of Owensboro are the co-sponsors of the event, which starts at 7:30 am at the Owensboro Convention Center.
Daviess County Judge Executive Al Mattingly was first elected as the Daviess County Judge/Executive in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Prior to holding this office, Judge Mattingly was an Owensboro City Commissioner. He is an active member of various civic and professional organizations and gladly serves his church, Our Lady of Lourdes. A graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Brescia College in 1969. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 AL MATTINGLY until 1972. DAVIESS COUNTY JUDGE EXECUTIVE
Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne retired as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Brescia University in May 2008. Previously, he served as an Owensboro City Commissioner from 2005 until 2007. He has also served in the positions of City Manager, the City’s Chief Administrative Officer, from 1997 until his retirement in 2003, and Director of Finance and Administration from 1993 until 1997. Previously, Payne served 14 years with the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Controller, a Deputy City Auditor and eventually as Director of Finance. He was Owensboro’s City Auditor from 1975 to 1979. Payne is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Brescia University and a Master’s of Science in accounting from the University of Tulsa. He is a veteran of RON PAYNE the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. CITY OF OWENSBORO MAYOR

Ambassador of the Month – Minga Trogdlen Independence Bank Minga Trogdlen is Cash Management Officer at Independence Bank. She has been employed in the banking industry since 1975 and has served as a Chamber Ambassador for 12 years. As Cash Management Officer at Independence Bank, Minga’s primary responsibility is to assist existing and prospective business customers with simple and effective ways to manage their deposit accounts. In addition to serving as a Chamber Ambassador, Minga is on the Board of Directors for the United Way and is currently serving as the Campaign Cabinet Chair for 2015. She is a member of the Green River Area Downs Syndrome Association Board, the Owensboro Public Schools Foundation Board, and serves on the First Impressions Ministry at Owensboro Christian Church. Minga and her husband, Harley, are proud lifelong residents of Owensboro, Kentucky.
