Jim Anderson Thanks Flagstaff Communicators

Words of Gratitude from Jim Anderson, Past President, Flagstaff Communicators Please join me in thanking Star Hunter and Frank Moraga for their extended service to Flagstaff Communicators. For many months Star has served as Interim President and Membership Director. Frank has also served dual roles as Secretary and Communications Director.

Their service and commitment to helping sustain Flagstaff Communicators has allowed me to devote more time and energy to building my firm’s National and International business. Founded by Alice Ferris, ACFRE, GoalBusters Consulting celebrated our 11th year in 2012.

A few months ago, when I handed over the “rolling file” of Communicator’s documents and resources, Star said to me "You're not out of this yet." And she’s right. It has been my long-stated intention to help find new recruits to help launch Flagstaff Communicator's next phase and allow me to reduce my responsibilities to that of Past President and Advisor. I thank Star and Frank for helping make that possible. I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to have new voices join our organization and provide vision, fresh ideas and new direction.

Steve Saville, the Founder of Flagstaff Communicators told me early in my first term that our organization was most valued to the community when our core focus was education, service and outreach. I agree with Steve. I echoed that sentiment recently while chatting with Past President, Mike Russell. I commented, "We can't be a ‘Brochure Organization’ in a ‘Social Media’ World." It's not enough for us to set up a table to distribute business cards and brochures for members who are hoping to sell a product or service to other members. We have to be a place that embraces innovation and explores new technologies. We have to bring game. And it ain’t Pong. I'm optimistic that Flagstaff Communicators will continue to pursue these goals of providing relevant 21st century value to you, our members.
