Center for Rural Development Facilitating business growth and economic prosperity in rural Utah The Center for Rural Development partners with local governments and businesses to facilitate rural economic growth. The center: • Manages state programs, including tax credits and grants, to promote business growth • Supports the economic development goals and strategies of rural counties and communities, and • Fosters healthy and diverse rural economies by connecting businesses and communities with other state and federal resources and programs.
Rural Opportunity Program ——— Rural County Grant A grant for rural county governments supporting economic development planning, projects, and activities. The Rural County Grant addresses economic development needs, including: • Business recruitment, development, and expansion • Workforce training and development • Infrastructure and capital facilities improvements for business development
Rural Communities Opportunity Loan Revolving loan funds available to qualified rural communities* for economic development projects and infrastructure • $21 million revolving loan fund • Enhances the capacity of rural communities to further economic opportunities
Rural Communities Opportunity Grant Competitive grants are available to qualified rural communities. The grants support unique economic development projects and activities addressing needs related to:

Rural Employment Development Incentive Grants for companies creating new high-paying jobs, remotely, online, in a satellite hub/office space, or physically located in qualified rural communities Companies can receive: • $4,000 to $6,000 for each new position based on the employee’s work location • Up to $250,000 total grant funding per year
