Letter from the Ball Co-Chairs

ROBERT BEAULIEU & ERICK ELDRIDGE Dear Friends, Welcome to The Chic & Unique Ball: Wild Elegance. Tonight we celebrate boldness, artistry, and the fierce spirit of our community. We gather to launch GMCSF’s Season 17. We gather to ensure LGBTQ+ voices across South Florida continue to inspire audiences, open minds, change hearts and affirm our common humanity. We are thrilled to see this vision come to life. From the red carpet to the silent auction, from the dueling electric violinists to the Golden Ticket drawing, every detail has been designed to surprise and delight. The team at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood created the entire experience you see tonight. They designed the décor, built the atmosphere, and produced every element, from lighting and sound to the band, menu and bar. Seminole Hard Rock has become a home for our chorus, and tonight marks ten years of partnership with this extraordinary venue. Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for raising your paddle during the auction. Thank you for joining us in song and celebration. Together we create an impact that lasts long after the last note is sung. We also want to give a special shoutout to the Chic & Unique Ball committee and the GMCSF staff for making tonight possible. With gratitude and excitement, Robert Beaulieu and Erick Eldridge Co-Chairs, The Chic & Unique Ball

DOUGLAS JACKSON PEW COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD

SUSAN RENNEISEN

Susan’s commitment to the LGBTQ+ community and those impacted by HIV/ AIDS spans more than four decades. Her early work included four years in leadership with the South Florida AIDS Alliance, where she helped transform the organization by tripling its budget, expanding programs and services for clients and families, and significantly reducing administrative costs. That work came during a time when people living with HIV/AIDS faced tremendous fear, stigma and discrimination. Susan chose to stand with the community when allyship was not always easy or widely accepted. It helped establish what would become a lifelong commitment to advocacy, inclusion and service. Throughout her career, Susan has continued that commitment, using her leadership and influence to champion countless charitable organizations and community causes. For more than 20 years in her leadership role at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, she has helped direct support, resources, visibility and partnerships toward organizations serving the LGBTQ+ community as well as causes involving HIV/AIDS, children and families, healthcare, the arts, education, hunger, housing and other critical community needs. Susan has been an especially strong and consistent ally to the LGBTQ+ community—supporting organizations, opening doors, creating opportunities and encouraging those around her to become advocates themselves. Her impact isn’t measured only by the organizations she has supported, but by the people she has empowered and the relationships she has built throughout the community. From her leadership during the AIDS crisis to her continued advocacy today, Susan’s story represents more than 40 years of genuine and unwavering allyship. Long before LGBTQ+ inclusion became commonplace in corporate America, Susan was already doing the work—standing with the community, helping people in need and using her voice and leadership to make a meaningful difference.

A significant milestone was reached in December 2016 when GMCSF partnered with Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood to present its holiday concert at Hard Rock Live. What began as a landmark event has evolved into a dynamic nine-year partnership rooted in music, visibility, and community impact. Today, Seminole Hard Rock continues to amplify its mission as the Amplified Season Sponsor and host of The Chic & Unique Ball, its signature fundraiser. The Chorus welcomes singers of all identities who sing in the lower vocal range (Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone, Bass), with auditions held throughout the season. Our impact reaches from Miami Heat and Miami Marlins Pride Nights to the International Gay Polo Tournament in Wellington and Treasure Coast Pride Fest at the Saint Lucie County Fairgrounds, driven by the heart and dedication of our volunteers. Whether on stage or in service, GMCSF stands united in building bridges and creating space where everyone can live their truth. The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, Inc. PEGASUS SOCIETY WE’VE COME SO FAR IN OUR LIFETIME Let’s Keep the Momentum Going! Many of us recall a time when television would

never show two people of the same gender sharing a kiss… or holding hands. Now, we live in a time when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of marriage equality. We’ve accomplished a great deal, yet there is still much more to do. Since the late 1970s, the LGBTQ+ Choral Movement has been a crucial tool for advocacy, unity, and education. GMCSF is proud to continue this legacy through our music. We are pleased to serve as cultural ambassadors for our community, providing a voice for those who may not have one. Help ensure this work continues by joining The Pegasus Society’s planned giving program. In addition, by including GMCSF in your estate planning, you can help sustain our organization and keep our voices active for many years to come. We invite you to join the members of The Pegasus Society today. If you want to amend your current estate, contact Fiel Garcia at (954) 763-2266 ext. 111 or fgarcia@gmcsf.org.
