Trinchero Family Estates was born from unwavering fortitude and a bit of good fortune. Over 70 years ago, when Italian immigrant Mario Trinchero left New York City in search of a better life for his family in Napa Valley, no one could have predicted the unprecedented success that followed. A pioneer by nature, Donald Hess was determined to defy convention and pursue winemaking at elevation. In 1978, he established The Hess Collection Winery on the site of one of the region’s oldest wineries on Mount Veeder. Although few in Napa Valley were cultivating vines at elevation, Donald Hess believed the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder provided the ideal combination of soils and microclimates to yield elegant wines with rich, complex flavors.

Today, the next generation of The Hess family continues Donald’s legacy at its original home on Mount Veeder, above the Napa Valley. The winery and vineyards are founded in extremes and thrive on the rugged terrain from which the Hess Collection winemaking team crafts exceptional luxury wines lauded by the critics

WINEMAKERS TURNED BUBBLEMAKERS

We spent the last 17 harvests exploring how we could bring the pure joy of bubbles to the world of wine. Despite all of the sparkling options out there, we still felt like something was missing.

Old school traditions and stuffy standards meant there wasn’t a bottle that worked for weeknight sipping and toasting the big moments. Bottles that promise fewer calories and less alcohol end up sacrificing when it comes to flavor. Simply put: there wasn’t a bottle we wanted to reach for again and again. We quickly realized that bubbles deserved better.

Libby is the result of a decades-long love for winemaking and a lifelong passion for experimentation. We’re transforming the art of wine through the science of bubbles.

Since our founding in 1935, Count Gaetano Marzotto dedicated his life to establishing Santa Margherita and its estates as one of the leading ambassadors of Italian wine excellence around the world. With the establishment of Santa Margherita USA in 2016, we proudly carry on his vision in the United States.

Silver Oak began over a handshake between two friends with a bold vision: focus on one varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon, aged exclusively in American oak and worthy of cellaring for decades to come.

Ray Twomey Duncan, a Colorado entrepreneur who began investing in California vineyards in the late 1960s, and Justin Meyer, a Christian Brothers-trained winemaker, co-founded Silver Oak out of a Napa Valley dairy barn in 1972, producing only 1,000 cases of their inaugural vintage.

For more than half a century, Silver Oak has exclusively produced Cabernet Sauvignon in its signature California style. Thanks to state-of-the-art, sustainably built wineries and an American oak cooperage, the next 50 years promise more of the exceptional, food-friendly wines that you know and love.
