Gluttony 2026 Program | Adelaide Fringe

Page 1

19 February til 22 March 2026

19 FEB - 22 MAR

THURSDAY - SUNDAY NIGHTS THE VIRAGO AT GLUTTONY

We acknowledge the Kaurna people, the traditional owners of the land on which our events exist. We respect their ongoing connection to land, waters and culture, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. 3

Welcome to Gluttony 2026!

Welcome to Gluttony, your feast for the senses in Murlawirrapurka/Rymill Park, each Adelaide Fringe for the past 15 years. If you’ve been to Gluttony before, or have booked a ticket to a show at Gluttony this season, thank you! Your interest and support is why Gluttony is still popping up each season after a decade and a half.

In 2026 we present our biggest program ever. Two new venues have been added to our array of performance spaces: The Gosling – located lakeside in the park – and Tandanya Theatre, a brick-and-mortar space. We’re excited to partner with Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute to present a First Nations-focused program of performances, just a short stroll from the park across East Terrace.

Between Tandanya and our parkland venues, over 200 shows are being presented at Gluttony. It’s fair to say Gluttony is the home of music this Adelaide Fringe, with more than 40 music shows, including a return of the Gigs @ Gluttony series at The Fantail. A cornucopia of comedy, circus, magic, cabaret, dance, theatre and variety acts by local, interstate and international talent means you can easily fill out a well-rounded Fringe show schedule, all within Gluttony’s bounds. Familyfriendly fun is covered too, between shows, park experiences, and easy access to the Quentin Kenihan Inclusive Playspace.

New to Gluttony in 2026: Gluttony Sculpture Walk. We encourage you to take a stroll throughout the park and take in this new, free, open-air attraction, which showcases the work of visual artists. Find out more about this on page 24.

200+ shows

18 performance spaces

29 operating nights spanning five weekends

Multiple food markets More than a dozen bars

One Champagne Island

At this festival within a festival, to complement the artistic program, we aim to bring you the best of food, wine and hospitality within an arts venue hub. More details about what we’re serving up this season can be found on pages 4-5, but in a nutshell: you’ll eat, you’ll drink, you’ll be merry. Food markets serving global cuisines and more than a dozen bespoke bars are positioned across the park. Restaurants return to the lakeside dining precinct on the western side of Rymill Park Lake, and Champagne Island brings back some sparkle to its centre.

It’s an honour to bring this hub to life each Adelaide Fringe season; without a doubt, it’s the best time of year to be in our home city. We’re proud to say one-third of the artists and producers programmed by Gluttony are from the Festival State of South Australia.

Thank you to our 400 staff, 800 artists, teams of food vendors, dozens of suppliers, and valued sponsors, for the vital roles you play in making Gluttony’s shows, hospitality, and experiences possible. We also work closely with the wonderful Adelaide Fringe team, leading the largest arts festival in the country, and much gratitude goes to them too.

Co-Directors,

You’ll never go hungry at Gluttony

In Gluttony’s food markets across the park, you’ll find 25+ vendors serving a wide variety of worldly treats to feed the whole family, including Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese, Italian, Greek, Indian, and Thai cuisines. There’s something for everyone – from light and healthy plant-based options to festival favourites like gelato, burgers, fairy floss, and popcorn. Vegan and gluten-free diners welcomed!

In 2026, elevated dinner experiences return to the lakeside restaurant dining precinct. If a set menu with wine pairing and table service is more your style than snacks on-the-go between shows, book in to dine in, lakeside.

Champagne Island

The hottest spot for a drink at Adelaide Fringe returns this season, with expanded seating and an extensive range. Bubbles and freshly shucked SA oysters on the island during a balmy Fringe evening... what could be better?

Margarita Bar

This season, the oh-sosummery Margarita Bar relocates to the southern side of Rymill Park Lake, replete with a new deck from which to take in the scenic views.

Please note: since 2019, Gluttony has used a cashless system for all food and beverage purchases, meaning they must be made by card. This allows us to provide faster and more efficient service for our customers, and a safer environment for our

and vendors.

Bars

Stroll, sit, and sip between shows – there are more than a dozen bars across the park to explore. Select from Pirate Life beers, Alpha Box & Dice wines (plus international drops at the Sometimes Always Bar), spirits on the rocks, frozen margaritas, and much more. The Local Bar, presented by Brand SA is your place to go for an exclusively South Australian range, covering nearby wine regions as well as boutique SA brews and spirits. Moet & Chandon headline Champagne Island, flanked by an even wider range of small-house Champagnes. Flag down the Bizzarro Spritzmobile for on-the-go refreshments when it’s out and about in the park at peak times too!

Quench your thirst with fresh juices, non-alcoholic beers and wines, soft drinks, bubble tea and coffee, and bring your own drink bottle to refill at our free filtered water stations across the site.

Psst – late night spot Club Curious admits Gluttony ticketholders aged 18+ on selected nights...

One-stop Wine Shop

Peruse our entire range of around 80 Australian and international wines in one location, thanks to Sometimes Always. Browse and buy your bottle, select your snacks – may we suggest a charcuterie board, cheese platter, or pommes frites? – and take it away to your favourite posi in the park.

Gluttony first popped up in Rymill Park/Murlawirrapurka as a food and wine weekend during Adelaide Fringe 15 years ago, and the name stuck since. It still fits though… as well as being a creative feast for the senses, Gluttony has an expansive food and bar offering.

Lakeside

restaurant dining

Easily accessed via Gluttony’s Lakeside Gate off East Terrace, premium restaurant dinner experiences return to the western edge of Rymill Park Lake. Be shown to your seat while waiting staff take your order, and dine while you watch the world go by.

DART BLASTER ARENA

Are you good eNerf to take on the Dart Blaster Arena? We’re back with new blasters, more darts, improved obstacles and all the energy burning fun you could possibly need. A chance for players to sample a huge buffet of toy blasters and take aim at strangers all within the confines of our special battlefield.

Presented by: Funtime Kids Parties

Weekends, 11:00AM to 5:45PM | Dart Blaster Arena

All ages | 20 mins | $10 pay at the door, $25 all day pass

Gluttony endeavours to tread gently on our beautiful natural space, and exercise environmental responsibility. All plates, bowls, cutlery, and cups used by our food vendors are compostable; our bars serve drinks in reusable glasses and cups, and water can be purchased in reusable cartons, which are more recyclable than plastic. Upgrade your festival experience by purchasing a large Gluttony wine glass to take home as a stemware souvenir. We encourage you to bring in your own drink bottle to refill from our free filtered water stations.

We have avoided using single-use plastics wherever possible. A three-bin system is in place to separate reusables, recyclables, and compostables. Landfill bins are available only at toilets and exits, to encourage the most sustainable use of our waste management systems. Follow the signs or ask our staff if you would like more information about which bin to use.

Sustainability Outdoor Venues

The following venues are open-air, outdoor performance spaces.

The Fantail: A spectacular soundshell, this is Gluttony’s most spacious venue, home to unforgettable music shows under the stars.

The Piglet: Known for non-stop stand-up comedy and weekend matinées, this venue features a tent roof, with open air for walls

The Squeaker: After dark, the Dart Blaster Arena transforms into a comedy club under the stars.

Rain or shine, performances will go ahead, so please come prepared for the forecast weather if your show is in one of these outdoor venues. Umbrellas will not be permitted to be used during performances, as they obstruct the view of other patrons. In the not-so-frequent event of summer rain during your show, please bring a poncho. Sun protection is also highly recommended in the heat of the day.

Tandanya

This season, Gluttony is excited to partner with Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute to present a First Nations-focused program of performances. From our Murlawirrapurka/Rymill Park parkland hub, you’ll be able to simply stroll across East Terrace to the beautiful and historic Tandanya building at 253 Grenfell Street.

Accessibility

Gluttony welcomes customers with access needs. Our site caters for people who use wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Accessible features at Gluttony include:

- Accessible toilets

- Bars with accessible counters

- Flat, clear access to food vendors’ stalls

- A sensory break tent (see page 37 for more details)

A number of shows at Gluttony offer performances that are presented in more accessible ways. These include: Interpreted in Auslan, the sign language of the Australian Deaf community, providing access for those who are deaf or have a hearing impairment.

Relaxed performances, specifically designed to create a safe and welcoming environment for patrons with a learning disability and/or sensory and communication difficulties, or anyone who would benefit from a more sensory-reduced environment.

Tactile tours, which are audio described tours involving touch and sound exploration of the elements of an event for people who are blind or have a vision impairment.

See the list of accessible performances at Gluttony

We also recommend checking out Adelaide Fringe’s Accessibility resources.

Getting around Gluttony

In 2026, to help you navigate to the performance space, food market or bar you’re looking for, Gluttony will be organised into four zones, each serviced by its own gate:

City Side Zone – enter via the Fringe Corner Gate

Kent Town Zone – enter via the Kent Town Gate (new gate in 2026, created in response to patron feedback, for the convenience of those entering or exiting via the site’s east side)
