The great danger of writing of you in n1y Oudoob whⅡ e I am on leave is that it should become a guideˉ book account of my travels, and this could be extremely bOring。 But I cannot help mentiOning sOmething of this beautiful part of the wOrld where I am spending most of my 伍me; that is I am here except when it is absOlutely necessary for me to Visit the towns on business 。r to meet old friends。 I have, for example, just returned from a visit to London, where, although this was not the purpose of my Vis,t, my visit coincided 、注th the lvedding celebra吐 ons for Princess Margaret, and the annual pilgri1nage of sOccer fans to the Cup Tie final at Wembley。 For me the most important eVent was that while I was at ImpeⅡ al Headquarters I Was able to meet our Chief scout, Sir Charles ˇIaclean。 What impressed me most was that he was able to spare the ti1ne to see me, for he is clearly a very busy 血an。 But then it is the busy peOple who are able to find the ti1ne for somethilf]1g else。 Beware of the ‘ ‘ chap who says, I real1y haven’ t the tiェ ne。 ” But to return to the Lake Distr忆 t where I am at the血 oment。

What has impressed me Very much in England are the great number of people who get a、 vay frorn the towns and into the country Whenever they have
