Issue 6/2019 June 2019 Index for prices

Latest trends Moderate demand is reported in seafood markets in both Europe and Asia, with seasonally average landings and average to lowerthan-average price ranges. Prices for shrimp and tuna, in particular, have been trending steeply downwards. Summer is generally a period of high fish consumption, however, and this added demand combined with limited production is pushing up prices of squid and groundfish.

GROUNDFISH In Poland, cod catches have been moderate, but demand has also been limited due to cod’s cultural status as a winter seafood option. Overall, prices in Poland have increased slightly. Similar price developments have been reported on the Russian market for groundfish. COD - in Poland (FOB, origin: Baltic Sea)
