Issue 8/2019 August 2019 Index for prices
Latest trends The seafood market in Europe is characterized by slow activity and low demand at present. Weak demand for fishery products in China is overshadowing the European market, and prices are generally trending downward. There are some exceptions to this trend, however, and prices for tuna and squid have been rising.
GROUNDFISH Polish cod catches are limited at present and supply is tight. Even though domestic demand in Poland is reportedly low at present, cod prices have nevertheless increased sharply, surpassing USD 2 per kg for the first time since September 2018. COD - in Poland (FOB, origin: Baltic Sea)
