Latest trends Trading for the European Christmas sales period is in full swing, particularly for frozen products such as shrimps and lobster. These products are popular seafood choices for Christmas festivities and market prices have risen. Salted cod, which is an important component of Southern European cuisine, has been experiencing a sustained upward price trend recently, accelerated by a decline in cod supply. Tuna prices, meanwhile, are declining.

GROUNDFISH Weather conditions in the North Atlantic are difficult are present, which has limited cod fishing opportunities for the Icelandic and Faroese fishing fleets. This is not particularly unusual for this time of year, however.
