Director’s Message It was a coincidence. I have always been interested in Art Program for Children. I believe in Art as an important activity to foster children's creativity. Then a long lost friend called up to say that she was moving out of the country and wanted to pass on her Art School to a good hand. There I came. I am an educator. My whole life for the past 10 years is about education for young children and how to make them grow to their utmost potentials. We let children find their own talents. We do not focus on Art unless the children are very interested. But then, with Global Art, it is about giving the children the skill set to express themselves through artwork. Anyone can learn, and to me must learn, the basic skills to express so that our creativity can be fostered. That is when I find that Art is fundamental to people's creativity. When I watched children learn to compose their ideas in their artwork, I realized that there is no limit to a child's potential and innovation. One experience to share. I walked into the classroom seeing a 6 years old boy composing what is to be his dream car. I was surprised to see his car with wings. I asked why your car has wings, He said he wanted wings for his car so that it could go faster and it does not have to stuck in traffic. I was amazed by his imagination. Who knows when he grows up, cars may have wings! I truly believe that through arts, children will grow smart and innovative. And our future is full of innovations. As I shared ealier, Art is very important and I am glad that globalart method is simple and straightforward. globalart method makes me think that anyone can learn Arts. It does give us very basic skills to express. Its step-by-step teaching techniques are superb in ways that does not make a person like myself, who always believed that he/she is not talented, feel intimidated. I wish all children are given a chance to learn and excel in globalart program.
我一直对儿童艺术课程感兴趣, 也相信艺术是培养孩子创造力的其中一项重要活动。之后，一位久违的朋友联络我 说她即将移民到其他国家，想把她的艺术学校交托给一位好的接管人。所以，我就在这机缘巧合的机会下成为了 globalart柬埔寨的总监. 我是一名教育工作者。在过去的10年，我的生活都在教育年幼的孩童以及如何让他们在自己最大的潜能里成长。我 们也让孩子找到适合自己的天赋,但是我们不完全专注于艺术，除非孩子们很感兴趣。随后，发现globalart给予孩子 们通过艺术作品来表达自己的技能。对于我而言任何人都必须学习一些基本的技能来表达自己，借此也可以培养自 身的创造力。那时候我才发现艺术是人类创造力的根本。 当我看着孩子们学会组合他们自己的想法和呈现在他们的作品时，我开始意识到，没有任何东西是可以限制孩子的 潜能和创新能力。在这里我分享一件事情,我走进教室看到了一个6岁的男孩如何组成他的梦想车。我很惊讶地看到 他的梦想车配有一双翅膀。我问他为什么你的车有翅膀呀？他说如果车有翅膀就可以让它走得更快而不必堵在塞车 的路上。我非常惊讶于他的想象力。 谁知道，当他长大的时候，汽车是可以有翅膀的！我真的相信透过艺术，孩子会变得更聪明，更创新。我们的未来 得一直在创新。正如我之前的分享，艺术是非常重要的.globalart的学习方式直接与简单,让我觉得每个人都可以学 习艺术。它确实教我们用基本的技巧去表达。它的教学系统是高超的，不会让一些像我一样觉得自己没有才华的人 而感到害怕学习艺术。我希望所有的孩子都有这么一个机会接触和认识我们的globalart课程。 globalart Cambodia Regional Director / globalart柬埔寨区域总监 Ms. Keng Chansopheak July 2014 | GA Mini Magazine |

The Gray Tree
Piet Mondrian was born in 1872 in Amersfoort Netherlands and was introduced to Art by his father and his uncle. In the beginning, his works are mostly Naturalistic or Impressionistic on landscape painting. As he continues his search for personal style, his illustrations were influence from a variety of artistic movements including the style in pointillism and the vivid colours of Fauvism, both of these facets were significant in the development of a more mature abstract style in his works. In 1914, he continued to improve his style toward pure abstraction and developed the neoplasticism style which emphasized on the lines, forms and the use of lighter and simplified colour that were balanced in their compositions. In 1917 Mondrian and architect Theo van Doesburg founded the journal De Stijl a movement among artists, architects and designers that presented an ideal of total abstraction as a model for harmony and order across art. De Stijl influences Piet Mondrian was an important contributor to the De Stijl art movement. The artistic philosophy that formed a basis for the group's work is known as neoplasticism (the new plastic art). De Stijl influence on architecture remained considerable long after 1931. Between 1923 and 1924, Rietveld designed the Rietveld Schröder House, the only building to have been created completely according to De Stijl principles. From architecture, furniture and to fashion design, work by De Stijl members are still scattered all over the world until these days.

Charlene simply loves Art ! Painting, drawing and making crafts are her favourites at home, however after finding out that globalart systematic programme nurtures children’s passion in art and creativity I was so impressed that I enrolled Charlene straightaway. By taking pride in her creations, globalart gives Charlene the confidence she needs in expressing her ideas and creativity with an open mind! By expressing herself and taking risks in creating art she will learn to be innovative which will be very important as she grows into adult life. She also improves her art vocabulary by gaining valuable exposure and experiences by taking part in globalart National & International Art Competitions. Through globalart comprehensive art modules, Charlene gets to experiment with new ideas, to think critically, solve problems, making decisions and sharpening her skills in Colouring, Drawing, Painting and Handcrafting. On top of that Charlene can also further appreciate Art through the learning of Art History and Cultural Awareness.

Hui Wei simply loves drawing and painting, after joining globalart in 2012, she has improved her grades in the subject of art in school. She has also improved tremendously in terms of creativity, composition, drawing and colouring skills, however for me the most important part is that she will be able to enjoy and express herself during globalart lessons. Learning art nurtures her patience and creativity, on top of that it also enhances her left and right brain thinking capacity, and I believe this would give her a great advantage as she pursues her ambition to be an artist in the future! globalart unique module allows children to develop their creative thinking, and through its multiple levels learners are able to learn effectively and innovatively in a progressive manner. While globalart was established in Malaysia, but because of its effectiveness the brand is well known in many other countries around the world! I have heard many praises from other parents about globalart and my hope is that my daughter will continue to do what she enjoys most and at the same time she is able to optimize her potential through globalart creativity programmes, Thank you!!

7 years ago, I started out as a globalart instructor. Due to my passion in teaching art and encouragement from people around me I have decided to start my own globalart centre. I am so fortunate to meet many peoples in this business who recognized my effort, they gave me encouragement, guidance, ideas, time and space to improve, due to these supports I am totally committed to globalart now! On top of that globalart multiple levels module is also very innovative, they allow students to learn effectively and creatively in a progressive manner. To me every day is a new challenge , it is very challenging to my hope, my purpose and my creativity, however I was again very fortunate that I am not facing these challenges alone, it is therefore I would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU to all my colleagues and instructors for being there for me and continuing to stay with me in our quest to pursue our interest in ART. I joined globalart as a part-time teacher during my school days and after two years I discovered that my passion is to teach art and work with children. In additions the working environment is great and I really enjoyed it and right after my graduation from LaSalle I committed to globalart as a full time teacher and I know I have made the right decision! As a former Art student myself I always thought Art is something very abstract and difficult to explain, however after learning and teaching globalart programmes I am convinced that Art can be learned in a systematic and creative manner, for example by applying the globalart Oil Pastel and observation drawing steps and techniques, my students have improved tremendously in their colouring & drawing skills. My boss once said “If student dislikes a class, the teacher is responsible for it” and I agreed, because every child is different and we will need different approaches to ensure students are engaged to learn effectively and my biggest reward is when my students say they are looking forward to the next lesson! Thank you globalart for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to have a wonderful future with the globalart family. 我在很多年前，仍在求学生涯的时候已经加入了globalart当一 名兼职教师。两年后，我发现我对与孩子们互动的工作和教学 艺术充满热忱。另外，globalart的工作环境是如此优越的。我 真的很享受我的工作。这些使我在Lasalle毕业后，决定成为 globalart教师。今天，我知道我已经做出了最正确的选择。我 的老板曾经说过::“如果学生不喜欢上课，那是因为老师”。 我也这么认同的。因为每个孩子都是不同的，所以我们不能对 每个人抱着一样的做法。以我的教学方式来配合每一个学生的 学习能力，也是我工作的一部分。对我而言，这实在是一个很 大的挑战。作为一名艺术系的学生，我曾经以为艺术是一件很 抽象的，难以解释。但是从globalart有效和一致的学习课程说 服我，实践艺术其实并不难。例如，“从基本形状绘制”的技 巧，这大大帮助了我的学生提升他们的绘画技巧。尽管在不同 的媒介体上，他们甚至透过了深，中，浅的彩色技巧而变得更 加自信。我最大的收获是，当我的学生们说他们正期待着下一 课。感谢globalart给我一个机会，成为一个美术导师。我非常 期待与globalart一起展望未来。

To quote my late father’s advice “If one wants to do his job well, he must first sharpen his tools”! This advice has given me great insight that there is lesson to be learned at every stage and never regret your decision because each decision is the path to your future and eventually becomes your most valuable experience, Thank you. 7年前，我是globalart的导师。因为对艺术的执着，随后决定 自己创业成为globalart的加盟者。我在这创业的路上遇见很多 对的人。他们给予我们的肯定、鞭策、督促、空间与想法， 让我更能积极的决定自己在globalart这条路上继续奔跑。加入 globalart的行列，对我来说每天都是全新的挑战。是自己对理 想的挑战、是对自己宗旨的挑战、是对每一天创意的挑战。 然而，如果这些所有的挑战，只有我自己来面对，这条路我 知道自己会走的非常辛苦。所以这里我也要感激一班和我一 同付出的老师们与同事们，因为globalart，我们才能一起在这 里来维护、来追寻我们对艺术的理念。globalart的教学大纲现 今已经算的上非常完善的阶段，每一阶段都有非常大的空间 来让同学发挥。我的父亲生前送过我这么一句话，“工欲善 其事，必先利器”。这句话告诉我，人生的每一阶段都是自 己未来生活的累积，不要轻易认为自己的每个决定都是一个 错误的决定，因为这些决定就是你自己将来一生中最大最宝 贵的人生经验。

I took a huge leap of faith in 2011 when I quit my job to start my own business, however without any experience, I opted for a franchise business. Combining my two passions, namely Art and Children, it was clear to me that globalart being an established brands with over 20 centres in Singapore, it is also an international brand to be reckoned with! And with that the choice for me and my business partner could not be made any easier! Students at globalart have the potential to do well. The unique systematic and straightforward syllabus caters to all, including those who lack artistic talent. I now manage 3 centres and although busy, I still find time to teach and simply love interacting with the students. Nothing beats hearing the voices of my students and seeing their proud beaming faces with their artworks. Every year our students participate enthusiastically and winning awards in the globalart annual National and International competitions, my students give me the drive to continue. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Mr Patrick and his team for always being there for me and guiding me. I look forward to many more years with globalart in our effort to enhance children’s creativity, thank you.
