Ice Breaker Marathon & Half Marathon

The Icebreaker Marathon and Half Marathon was one for the record books in 2023! We saw a great attendance for this no frills winter marathon and Boston Qualifier and runners were greeted with some special surprises for this years event such as a cheer section complete with signage and encouraging music and dancing to make the loops pass on by. New for this years event, runners would not take home their medals. Instead, their medals would be donated to Medals 4 Mettle Long Island Their hard earned medals that took some serious grit and determination to earn will now be donated to children in local hospitals fighting critical illness in honor of their bravery and determination in fighting their respective illnesses WHAT AN AMAZING CAUSE!

In the Men's Marathon event we saw Dominick Mignano take home the win in 3:10:34, Shawn Garbien take second in 3:19:53 and Keith Masso take home third in 3:23:01. A message from your Robin Blosser (M4M LI): This year ' s race was another incredibly successful chapter in what has become a beloved treasure of the winter racing scene. Thank you to all the racers for contributing to one of the fastest and deepest 10M races around; to all the volunteers who greet winter conditions and grateful runners with nothing but smiles and encouragement; to all the sponsors and supporters for helping make this event possible and raising so much for deserving charities; and to all the post-race partiers for celebrating with us! One thing is for sure -- we honored our friend and race founder, Ric DiVeglio, with all the smiles and cheers from 1500+ people this year.
