Bond, Schoeneck & King, Kings Park 15K Run

The Bond, Schoeneck & King, Kings Park 15K Run, A Long Island Track and Field Grand Prix Series Race was held on March 18th 2023. The race spanned the rolling hills of Kings Park and tackled the steep Kohr Road climb. Athletes were greeted with an unseasonably warm morning, perfect for fast running and fun with friends on course. On the Men's side it was a battle all race between Jossi Fritz-Mauer and Scott Bickard. The two ran stride for stride until the 8 mile mark when Bickard made his move He slowly crept away from Fritz-Mauer to break the finish tape in 51:59, Fritz-Mauer followed closely behind in 52:08 Third place went to Michael Herbert who had a strong day, running 54:31. In the Women's race we saw Elizabeth Caldwell take charge of the race in the early miles to build a healthy lead before the finish, she crossed the line in 57:45. Second place overall and first place female masters went to non other than Kelly Perno-grosser in 1:01:12. Third place went to Lauren Jasinski in 1:05:46. In the Male Masters Division it was long time star runner and recently crowned 50K Age Group National Champion, Boyd Carrington in a time of 55:46

After the race was over runners were greeted with an array of bagels from Smithtown Bagel and some delicious muffins, generously donated by Rockland Bakery. The post race ceremony also had vendors including Orange Theory fitness and raffles including a beach cart donated by Clayton Funeral Home of Kings Park. As always runners earned a high quality hoodie and award recipients earned a nice 20 oz glass award!
