Letter from the President
“When the best people you know are the very people you serve, there is only room for exceptional.” ~Mike DuFrane
It’s Monday morning and the parking lot is busy with units and customers coming in. In these moments I am reminded of how thankful we are for your support. We don’t say thank you enough – know your decision to call GLICK Fire is one for which we’re incredibly thankful.
Hot topic
Delivery times for apparatus and parts have been at the forefront of our conversations this year, in this industry and others. Many times, we have little to no control over timing, and the patience you continue to show us is appreciated. In order to help ease the pain of long delivery times for ambulances and fire apparatus, we currently have multiple stock units available now and several others on order with shorter lead times. In addition, many of our manufacturers have a stock unit list showing the vehicles they have available. Check out page 9 to see a few of the ones listed. Contact us for more information on these units or any others.
Get the parts you need
Do you need to order parts, but don’t have the time to be on the phone, or it’s after hours? Check out our online parts store at glickparts.com to order directly, or research parts using our photos and schematics.
Coming on the horizon
In the next few months, we will be showcasing the fire and EMS electric vehicles that are available to order.

The Pierce Volterra is now on the road and is scheduled to be in the NE region in September. I understand that these units may be appealing to a select group, but if you have any interest in seeing what the Volterra has to offer please check it out while it’s here. This is a ride and drive opportunity, and a chance to discuss the infrastructure. Once we have confirmation of the route, we will be scheduling stops in western and eastern PA. We hope to see you there!
We will have some exciting announcements in the coming months. Stay tuned and find out how we are expanding our services to you, to better serve your community.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, make memories, be safe, and be kind.

GREASE GRITS
TAK-4 MAINTENANCE

In 2001, Pierce changed the industry by introducing TAK-4 Independent Front Suspension (IFS), engineered specifically for Pierce vehicles. Pierce now offers TAK4 Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) which applies the same military grade performance to the rear for supreme ride performance. For maximum mobility, Pierce also delivers TAK-4 T3 system, which combines the advantages of TAK-4 IRS with a 100-percent mechanical rear steering system.
PROVEN, PROPRIETARY, SEVERE-DUTY TECHNOLOGY.
Custom built for Pierce chassis, the TAK-4 Independent Suspension system maintains the feel of the road with outstanding steer-ability and a dramatically smoother ride over any surface. A tight steering system, torsion bar independent suspension and high-performance braking maximize control.
The TAK-4 design not only maximizes a truck’s performance, it minimizes the wear and tear on your equipment and streamlines the maintenance process. There are no u-bolts on the front axle, no adjustments needed for the caster angle, and no need for lubricating the heavy-duty ball joints. Your rig spends less time in the shop and more time on the street.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
TAK-4 ride height should be inspected annually by a Pierce certified technician. Although the ride height is set at the factory, it should be inspected for wear or any changes that can occur when weight distribution is shifted in the unit. This is especially true when relocating equipment, or adding equipment to a truck.
Maintaining the correct ride height can help with proper tire wear, braking, and the overall drivability of the unit.
The TAK-4 evaluation process includes:
• Tire pressure and tread condition inspection
• Measurement of vehicle ride height
• Measurement of axle weights
• Adjustment if needed
