Our professional teaching staff are experienced in looking after your child whatever the circumstances, whether they are a seasoned boarder or this is their first time away from home. Our staff are first aid trained and on call day and night. The School has an arrangement with a local surgery, although there may be a charge for each consultation. There are two local hospitals, the closest is 2 minutes from the School’s campus. Students who can show a European Health Card may be covered by the National Health System, but we strongly advise that all students have travel insurance to cover travel, valuables, as well as health insurance and dental emergencies. Our staff are experienced in looking after your child as if they were their own. Your child will be cared for and supervised throughout their stay.

Your agent will coordinate flights with you. On arrival our staff will meet and transport your child to Sherborne where they will be met, accommodated and refreshed after their long journey. You will receive a message as soon as they arrive and a phone call when the time is appropriate!
Pocket money
The price includes everything students will need during their course (please see the registration form for a detailed description) but students may wish to bring pocket money to purchase presents and souvenirs, or snacks and drinks on excursions. A sum of £50 per week should be more than sufficient. It is recommended to arrive with money in GB pounds which will be handed in with passports on arrival. Pocket money can be collected from the house parents every day before the start of the day.
clothes
Machine washable casual and sports clothes are best for everyday activities – jeans, t shirts, shorts for sports, trainers, outdoor shoes and casual shoes. We suggest a waterproof jacket and warm layers as the British climate is variable even in the summer. Laundry is offered twice a week. We strongly suggest you label clothes with your child’s name to aid the return from the laundry. All bedding is provided (and changed weekly) but your child will require sufficient toiletries, shower gel, and two towels for their stay.
All students will live in the School’s boarding house, set in the School campus. Our boarding house is comfortable and warm. Each student will get their own bed space and storage, and there is a comfortable common room with television, board games and DVDs, for the odd occasion they have a little downtime. Our ICT suite is recently refurbished and our well stocked library is available throughout. Boys and girls are separated. Our independent caterer is market leading and well versed in catering for allergies, for children from different cultures, countries, and religious backgrounds. The food is cooked in our own kitchen using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. There are a variety of options each meal, including several hot options, a salad bar, and a vegetarian choice. Something for everyone. As well as meals, snacks are available at break times and in the evenings.

Each day there will be a wide variety of activities to choose from – whether your child loves the arts, sport, music or drama, there will be something to suit everyone. Our aim is to ensure your child has fun whilst learning and making the most of their time with us. Several excursions each week will add to the excitement and cultural experiences for the children. Being in
the South West of the United Kingdom, Sherborne Prep is surrounded by stunning English countryside and landmarks, World Heritage Sites and Historical monuments all within just an hour or two of our site. Your child will be fortunate enough to see and visit some very special places of huge cultural significance – memories sure to remain with them forever.

Sherborne Prep is situated in the idyllic West Country about 2 hours from London Heathrow airport. Dorset is a quiet, clean and safe environment. Sherborne is a sleepy, traditional English market town. It is an ideal location for a school and a perfect location and environment for your child to have fun and to learn.
