Lot 55 55 A 1973 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, registration number CWV 11L, chassis number SRH 15294, Brewster green. SRH 15294 was supplied by Henlys of Salisbury to its first owner, a Mr P Beale of Bromley, Kent, on the 13 March 1973. Mr Beale sold the car back to Henlys in 1974, and they supplied it to the second owner, Colonel R L Wallace of Broughton, Stockbridge in December of the same year. Colonel Wallace would retain the Rolls-Royce until January 1979, when he sold the car back to the supplying dealer. SRH 15294 was then purchased by the vendor’s father. This 58,000 miles from new Rolls-Royce is presented in wonderful original condition, and is finished in a very attractive colour combination of Brewster green with a beige leather

interior, with green carpets and green leather top roll. There is a large and comprehensive history file accompanying the Rolls-Royce, with copies of the build sheets, details of the servicing by Henlys, James Young and other specialists with receipts and correspondence. This low mileage and original example of Rolls-Royce’s luxury saloon is testament to how good a car, these much maligned and often neglected cars can be. This example should not be compared with such a car, as it is presented in excellent condition, and is a credit to the current and previous owners. V5C, MOT to January 2015, taxed See illustrations £8000 - 10000

58 A 1947 Jaguar Mk IV 2.5 litre sport saloon, registration number GRU 575, chassis number 510568, engine number P586, black. The Jaguar Mk IV is felt by many to be the epitome of British design for its era. The large chrome P100 headlights, sweeping wings, and luxurious interior with polished wood all speak for the style and opulence of a past age. The Mk IV’s were available with three options from the diminutive 1.5 litre four cylinder, through to the top of the range 3.5 litre straight six. This particular piece of Jaguar motoring history is the 2.5 litre version, incorporating the overhead valve straight six engine, allied to a four speed manual gearbox which promised a near 90 mph when new. 59 A 1972 Austin Mini Clubman estate, registration number ARU 156K, red. This car was supplied brand new on the 24th May 1972 to Miss Joan Mary Cox of Wareham, Dorset. In Miss Cox’s ownership the car was looked after by Lovell’s Garage in Wareham. Upon her demise in 1999 the car was passed to the owner of Lovell’s Garage as a thank you for his dependable help. Over the period of her ownership she insisted that Mr Lovell kept a selection of spares in stock for her beloved Mini. These spare parts were also left to Mr Lovell, along with her picnic hamper, picnic rug, Bush transistor radio, Mini book and Autocar magazines. The instructions were that the spares and picnic set were to stay with the Mini for any future owners to enjoy. When Mr Lovell took delivery of the Mini it had 30,703 miles recorded and he decided to store the vehicle where it stood for the next 15 years (images of the Mini in storage are in the history folder), having only recently come to light to be sold. When MOTd in January 2014, the car had travelled just another 80 miles and now reads 30,783 miles. The history folder contains a Mini Clubman handbook, images of the car, previous tax discs. Now well cared for and restored, the brakes were overhauled in 2007, and with a new wiring loom, new clutch, hood and side screens also replaced during the restoration. The indicators and side trafficators work

together, and the car has always been garaged, only used in dry conditions and covered just a few thousand miles since the restoration. breathtaking performance equivalent to many a super car. It is fitted with the rare steel sunroof, satellite navigation and all of the usual toys one would expect from this prestigious marque. There is an extensive history file accompanying the vehicle with numerous receipts, mainly from Balmoral Bentley specialists, including a receipt for £5,000 for a complete head gasket set completed in 2012. Lot 62 62 A 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 cabriolet, registration number K4 TGC, Arena red, body rebuilt to 993 Turbo wide body specification. This Porsche was originally supplied as a 964 C4 cabriolet. After an accident in February 1997 the decision was taken to fully rebuild the Porsche to the then current 993 Turbo wide body specification. This decision was taken as at the time 964 Porsches were dropping in value, and as all the genuine Porsche panels were available to convert the car to 993 specification. The conversion was carried our by Porscha Bodyshop, Dartford, Kent. The body was stripped and shotblasted back to bare metal, the new 993 panels were installed and the car was fully resprayed in Arena red. At the same time the 3.6 litre engine and gearbox were rebuilt by La Rose, a new interior with full tan leather was installed, a new electric black mohair cabriolet hood was fitted, new

16

glass, wiring loom, and alloy wheels were fitted. The Porsche has covered approximately 58,000 miles from new. The odometer was changed to a new 993 one when the car was rebuilt with approximately 22,000 miles now recorded, with the preceding 36,000 miles being covered before the conversion. The Porsche is fitted with a total closure TOAD alarm to give peace of mind. The vendor describes the Porsche as excellent in all respects and he believed that the specification is unique. The Porsche is offered for auction with a large history file with numerous receipts for thousands of pounds, past MOTs verifying the recorded mileage since the rebuild, an HPI certificate (clear), past logbooks outlining changes of cherished registration number and correspondence. V5C, MOT to July 2015, taxed See illustrations ÂŁ25000 - 28000

Lot 63 63 A 1950 MG TD, registration number 389 XUU, Sage green. This TD was purchased by the vendor from a previous Charterhouse auction (November 2009). Prior to the auction in 2009, the MG had been the subject of a body off restoration in America. Originally a British right hand drive car it was exported by the owner to America, where after the restoration it saw little use. Having returned to these shores the engine was rebuilt with a Stage 2 unleaded cylinder head and the

gearbox was also rebuilt. This MG has the desirable wind deflectors fitted and a chrome luggage rack. Other noteworthy equipment includes a double duck hood, side screens, full tonneau cover and later type steel wheels. This well presented MG is now only for sale due to the vendor’s ill health. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustrations £15000 - 17000

Lot 64 64 A 1994 Aston Martin Virage Volante wide body, registration number L871 SUA, black. Aston Martin’s new Volante joined the existing coupé a year after the initial launch at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show. It was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show with the first owners taking delivery in 1992. With only 233 examples made, only a small proportion of these being converted to wide body specification, makes this a very exclusive car. This meticulously maintained example has covered a genuine 44,000 miles from new. The brutish, muscular body is finished in a most striking black which complements the full grey piped black leather interior with lambswool over-rugs. The vendor advises us that it took him four years to find this car and over his five years of ownership he has lavished thousands of pounds upon it to

18

make it drive as well as it looks. Recent expenditure has included a full service, new brake lines, brakes, renewed soundproofing, fully undersealed and cleaned. Further noteworthy maintenance works undertaken have included new tyres, refurbished split rim OZ wheels, and replacement of the rubber hood cover corners. The vast history file accompanying the car contains all of the original handbooks and warranty cards, receipts from respected Aston Martin specialists for £1,000s, correspondence and Aston Martin Club magazines. The vendor has taken the Aston on an annual pilgrimage to Le Mans every year in his ownership without issue. It is now offered for auction with the aforementioned history file, V5C, MOT to June 2015, taxed See illustrations £45000 - 48000

A vehicle sold ‘as seen’ is sold and purchased for what it is and with all its faults (if any) and without any condition, warranty or other term (whether expressed or implied and whether implied by statute, common law, custom or otherwise) as to the age, description, mileage, suitability, fitness for purpose, merchantable quality or roadworthiness of the vehicle. b) Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the description of each lot, but these, whether made orally or in the catalogue, are expressions of opinion and not representations of fact. Illustrations whether in the catalogue, on the web site, or sent by email are solely for guidance and must not be relied upon in any manner whatsoever. Most lots are of an age and nature which precludes their being in pristine condition. The condition of any lot and the nature of any damage and/or restoration should be confirmed by the buyer by examination prior to the sale. All prospective purchasers must satisfy themselves as to the condition, colour, age and all other matters relating to any lot and no claims will be accepted in respect of any such matter. c) Each buyer by making a bid for a lot acknowledges that he has satisfied him or herself fully as to the condition of the lot. Charterhouse is not a party to the contract of sale and shall not be liable for any breach thereof by the buyer or the seller. b) If successful in buying a lot, please ensure that your number can be seen by the auctioneer and that it is your number that is called out. Should there be any doubts as to price or buyer, please drawer the auctioneer’s attention to it immediately. Please contact the accounts desk with details of how you will pay. c) The ownership of the lot(s) purchased will not pass to the buyer until the buyer has paid the auctioneers in full the total amount due and the auctioneers have applied such payment to the lot.

Transfer of Risk. Each lot shall be the purchaser’s sole risk from the fall of the hammer and shall be sold with all faults and imperfections, the auctioneer not being responsible for the correct description, genuineness or authenticity of any lot and making no warranty whatsoever. Commission Bids. If instructed, the auctioneers will execute bids and advise prospective purchasers. This service is free. Lots will always be purchased as cheaply as is allowed by such other bids and reserves as are on the auctioneer’s books. In the event of identical bids, the earliest will take precedence. Commission bids placed by telephone are accepted at the client’s risk. We do accept commission bids by facsimile and email, providing they are accompanied by full name and address details. We urge our clients to place such commission bids within one hour of the close of the view day.

14)

Telephone Bids. Requests for telephone bidding must be registered with the Accounts department within one hour of the close of the view day. It may not be possible to accept requests on sale days. Written confirmation of such bids from persons unknown to the auctioneers must be received before the commencement of the sale. Whilst every effort will be made to execute telephone bidding, the auctioneers cannot be held responsible for any default or neglect in connection with this service. All such arrangements therefore are made entirely at the prospective buyer’s risk.

15)

Collection of Goods. All vehicles must be collected by 2.30 pm on the day following the sale. Vehicles not collected by this time will be removed to a compound at Evercreech at a cost of £70.00 + VAT per vehicle. Motorcycles not collected by 2.30 pm on the Monday following the sale will be removed to our head office in Sherborne at a cost of £50.00 + VAT per motorcycle. Lots will only be released to the buyer or their authorised representative upon presentation of release notes issued by Charterhouse and settlement of any removal, handling and storage charges due. Purchasers are reminded that each lot shall be the purchasers sole risk from the fall of the hammer. Buyers should be aware that no lots will remain at the auction site after 2.30 pm on the day following the sale.
