Main Term

Summary Sherborne International is special The School was established in 1977 as the first international study centre in the UK and has gained an outstanding reputation worldwide. Its aim is to prepare boys and girls aged 11-17, from non-British educational backgrounds, to succeed in the British educational system. Typically students spend one or more years at Sherborne International before joining a traditional British boarding school.

WHY IS SHERBORNE INTERNATIONAL SO SUCCESSFUL? • Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of international students, providing an environment where students truly become global citizens; • all staff are trained in how best to teach and look after international students. The majority of teachers and senior boarding staff also have specialist EFL qualifications; • small classes (usual maximum of eight); compact campus with 160 students maximum; • a high staff to student ratio allows all students to be fully supported academically and pastorally; • strong focus on good behaviour and discipline; • accredited by the British Council as an international study centre for the teaching of all subjects, not just English; also accredited by the Independent Schools Association.
