Junior Development

A key component of every junior membership at Glenelg

We are very proud of our investment in junior golf. Glenelg Golf Club places great importance on junior golf and this is reflected in the Club’s junior membership structures and the development programs associated with them, which provide a pathway to help juniors to achieve their golfing goals.

Our elite team of nationally recognised and accredited coaching professionals coordinate programs in conjunction with the Club’s Junior Golf sub-committee. All Pro Shop staff are available to junior Members for coaching and advice.

The development of good golfers is a key aim of the program, however there is also a very strong belief that golf should be a fun and enjoyable pastime. The programs in place encourage all juniors, regardless of their ability, to learn, enjoy and respect all that golf club membership has to offer at Glenelg, in a safe, supervised and healthy environment.

Glenelg Golf Club Foundation

Established in 2002, the Glenelg Golf Club Foundation funds key projects through donations from Members and supporters. Its main focus is the Junior Golf and Elite Player Development Programs, covering coaching, clinics, competition fees and trips. So far, the Foundation has raised over $290,000, with more than $140,000 invested directly into junior development. Since its start, over 170 junior Members have benefited, many remaining with the Club. This support has helped Glenelg earn a reputation as a leader in junior golf.

Junior Tiger Clinics

The Junior Tigers Golf Program provides a pathway for young golfers from Beginner to Junior membership through clinics and time oncourse. The structured six-level program applies the motto “A Motor Skill, A Rule & An Etiquette” and each session completed will involve these three areas.

Junior clinics run during school terms and in school holidays, and you don’t have to be a junior Member to take part.

Visit mygolf.com.au for upcoming clinics, or contact the coaching team on (08) 8350 3250 or coaching@glenelggolf.com

Skills For Life

Glenelg Golf Club offers a progressive junior golf program focused on building life skills alongside golfing techniques. Golf is a social sport to enjoy at any age or skill level. Membership at Glenelg is a lifestyle investment. Junior Members discover the game’s traditions and etiquette at a private club while enjoying modern facilities, all in a welcoming, relaxed and safe environment. Our programs prepare junior golfers to play with confidence now and into the future.

Club Competitions

Open to Junior and Intermediate Membership categories, members can enjoy competitive golf every day, with major competitions on Saturdays and Wednesdays and a dedicated women’s competition on Tuesday mornings. During daylight saving, the popular twilight competition runs on Wednesday afternoons — perfect for a relaxed round under the late sun. Throughout the year, members also play for historic Club trophies, becoming part of Glenelg’s proud tradition and enjoying a welcoming golfing community.

Golf Course & Practice Facilities

Ranked among Australia’s top 40, Glenelg Golf Club offers a world-class challenge thanks to its superb design and pristine turf. Members enjoy excellent practice facilities, including a full-length driving range with range balls provided, warm-up nets and an expansive short game area. Whether you’re finetuning your swing or working on your short game, these facilities support players of all levels.

Member Card & House Account

All Members receive a Membership Card giving secure gate access, driving range use and cashless food and drink purchases through the House Account. Depending on your membership, your House Account may include a catering levy to enjoy dining throughout the year. The Glenelg Golf Club app keeps Members connected with digital cards, account balances, bookings, Club news and upcoming events.
