Prayers Dear Lord We thank you for our beautiful Christmas trees with each ornament representing a different year. This year’s ornament may look cold and hard, but on the inside, it is full of family and the appreciation of things we used to take for granted. We thank you for the vaccines which will end Covid-19. Thank you for the lessons we learn from hard times. We thank you for the twinkling lights that remind us of the star that shone over Jesus’ birthplace. Thank you for the power of your light and love. This new year, we wish for the lonely to feel loved. We wish for everyone to have someone to turn to, someone to love them. We pray for the families who have lost loved ones to Covid. Please watch over their families forever. We pray for peace in our world and for wars to end. We pray for those who must flee their homeland. Please bring them to a safe new home and them your ever lasting love. Amen Written by Roxanna, Year Five Dear God Thank you for the Christmas trees and decorations, some which have been passed down through generations. The star on the top reminds us of the star of Bethlehem which guided the three kings to baby Jesus. Thank you for teaching us that the poor and rich are equal. Thank you for giving us opportunities to open presents and give presents. The presents remind us that we are loved and cared about. Kindness from others is more important than presents and treats. We pray for the homeless, elderly people, those far from home, the armed forces and those in hospital this Christmas season. Keep them safe. Thank you that we can spend Christmas with our families. Amen Written by Ottie, Year Five
Dear God We thank you for allowing us to spend precious time with our families. I am grateful for delicious Christmas meals that my family and I enjoy. We are lucky to wake up on Christmas day and find presents from our generous families. I am thankful for a festival that allows us to relax and have fun. We thank you for giving us second chances and allowing us to correct our mistakes. I am thankful for the people who are finding lots of vaccines to help people with Covid. I hope that elderly people in homes will enjoy Christmas as much as we do. I pray that homeless people will be able to find somewhere warm and cheerful to stay for Christmas. I hope that key workers will have a holiday. I pray for people who are less fortunate than us. Help them find food for their table. I pray for the Government as they help us through this pandemic. Amen Written by Krishna, Year Five

Special Thanks Miss Martin and Mrs Marley So much organisation, preparation and time goes into rehearsing and producing the Carol Concert and it would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of Miss Martin and Mrs Marley. This year, more than ever, it has been a huge task to collate festive songs, readings and prayers to create a wonderful seasonal event that the girls enjoy and remember for years; well done both of you!
Warm wishes to you and your families for the holiday season From everybody at Glendower
