After a two year gap because of Covid, festivals and agricultural shows are making a welcome return.
One of the first is the Glendale Festival on July 24th. Set in a new venue, Wooler Mart , Berwick Road, organisers say they are trying out the venue because NCC are now charging between £500 and £1400 to close the High Street where it has been held for more than 20 years.
“We’re starting a new era,” said a spokeswoman. “We have lots of room at the Mart, plus parking on site. We’re a free music festival, with stalls, community and children’s activities and we’ll kick off at 2pm with Wooler Ceilidh band and a bit of a shindig.
“There will be a variety of food and a mobile bar providing refreshments. We also have Wooler Farmers’ Market in the bus station from 10am - 1pm. Make a day of it!” q Glendale free Music Festival
