Dear Glendale Members and Staff,

As always, let me begin by recognizing our amazing staff who are so committed to creating an exceptional experience for all of us at Glendale. This month I want to call out Steve Kealy and his wonderful crew for the great job they do in maintaining our golf course. Several of you have commented on how well the course is maintained which is directly attributable to Steve and his team and the fact that we gave them a day on Monday to do their work! Thank you.

The next couple of months are our final stretch for reviewing and approving the proposed golf course project. All members have the detailed information packet. We just concluded one member feedback session on September 3 and have one more scheduled for September 9. Steve is conducting course tours on September 11, 18 and 25. I strongly encourage you to attend one of these sessions and offer your feedback. We look forward to hosting a special meeting on September 30 for a full presentation of the final plan and the proposed vote packet. Voting will be both electronic (new to Glendale) and by paper ballot which will close by October 29.

This project is a generational investment in the future of our beloved Glendale. As you consider this project, please reach out to any member of the Board of Trustees, or the Working Group for this project, or members of management (Clint, Steve or Mike).

We need 2/3 of the members who vote to support the project for this to move forward. Please vote and, of course, I would very much appreciate your support for this project.

With my very best wishes President

Dear Glendale Members,

It is hard to believe that Labor Day has come and gone, that school is back in session and that fall is knocking at our door. This summer season (May – August) has been the busiest since the peak of COVID in 2021 with over 20,000 rounds played in those four months. It is evident that your love for playing the game of golf and the enjoyment it provides continues to grow and shows little sign of slowing.

This was a memorable summer with the celebration of the Club’s Centennial, the completion of our dining and patio renovations that have been very well received by both members and guests alike. We have enjoyed some incredible championship events in both the Men’s and Ladies’ Invitationals and with the recent crowning of our 2025 Club Champions. As summer winds down we have one other very important determination to be made, that being the upcoming vote on our Golf Course Masterplan. As Anand shared in his message, we encourage each of you to take the time to review the masterplan document that was provided via email in August and is also available on the Club’s website. In addition, please plan to participate in our final member feedback session this coming Tuesday, September 9th @ 6:30pm here at the club. Members also have a unique opportunity to tour the golf course with our Superintendent, Steve Kealy, over the next three weeks. On course sessions are scheduled for Thursdays, September 11th, 18th & 25th @ 5:00pm. These sessions are designed to allow you to ask questions and see the course through the superintendent’ s eyes to better understand the challenges and opportunities this plan addresses. Please take the time to review the materials, attend a session and educate yourself about plan and then participate in the vote that will be taking place this October.

As noted in an earlier email to the membership, we have resolved our property tax issue with King County and thank them for working with us to find a solution. One of the primary benefits will be reflected in this month’s statement in the form of a dues reduction. Proprietary members will receive a $55 per month reduction with associate and legacy members noticing a $27 per month reduction. Proprietary dues will now be $942 per month, down from $997 and with Associate/Legacy dues at $472, down from $499. So, look for this change in your upcoming statement, we are excited to make this long hoped for and worked for reduction a reality!

I look forward to a great fall ahead and to the continuation of the great weather we have enjoyed. We are excited to see you on the course and look forward to your participation as we work together to bring the masterplan process to fruition.

record turnout. (32 Women, 81 Men) To start off the weekend the women competed on Saturday and Sunday. Our Champion played consistent golf over the two rounds and was rewarded with her fourth championship (in 6 years). A huge congratulations goes out to Onti Rosen! The men competed on Saturday and Sunday. This year we had an EXTREMELY competitive Championship Division with a record number of men trying to be “top dog.” Our ultimate winner had been knocking on the door for several years and he will finally see his name put on the perpetual trophy forever! Congratulations to Matt “Lefty” Steele! Matt played consistent golf, as well and shot rounds of 73-76 149 to win by seven strokes. I would like to personally congratulate everyone that had the courage to participate in the most important championship at our club!!!

The pro shop has had a great retail year so far, thank you! We celebrated with a nice closeout sale on Labor Day weekend. Now we are restocking for the fall/holidays. You will see lots of great outerwear and layering pieces for both men and women. Some of the highlights are as follows:

• KJUS- This company is a top-shelf outerwear company that started in the ski industry. In fact, they designed the first stretch ski jacket in 2002 and later entered the golf marker in 2013. We have men’s and women’s outerwear and layering pieces. This stuff is simply the best!

• Puma- We just received a new shipment of Puma (men and women) that is geared with the cool days of fall and winter in mind. Also, we stocked some fall-weight pants for both men and women in this latest group.

• Straight Down- Please check out the latest group (men) from this solid brand. Fall colors, fall puffy jackets/vests, and some classy looking polos.

• Daily Sports- This is a Swedish women’s golf apparel brand. Once again, we feature some nice outerwear, layering pieces and warm pants. The group even has a nice winter hat that is perfect for a frosty day (quilted, fleece-lined, and earflaps).

Thank you for a great season!

Our 2025 Twilight season has come to an end! What a ride it has been. Our Director of Golf Mike Montgomery lost a lot of sleep worrying about the “level 3 atmospheric river” that was supposed to hit in the evening of the 15th. After plenty of deliberation with Chef Mike and his team, the grounds crew team, and the rest of the golf team, the decision was made that the show must go on! What once looked like a washout, turned into a night and round of golf that formed lifelong memories and smiles that could be seen through the sideways rain. Thank you to everyone who participated and reminded us once again how great it is to be at Glendale!

We would like to congratulate our winning team of Morris & Onti Rosen, Rob & Danielle Griebel, and Mike & Shelley Carlson. They had a battle-tested round of 4 under par (32)! To see the rest of our winners from the evening, click on the button below.

While our next Twilight golf isn’t on the immediate horizon, we are already dreaming of a nice sunny evening to come next year!

Thank you once again to everyone who makes our Twilight Golf events such a blast!

The Women’s Club Championship had a nice spread of appetizers set up on the new back patio on Saturday to watch the leaders come up the 18th fairway. There was an electric buzz amongst the ladies as they waited for the final group to navigate around the pond on the 18th hole. When it mattered the most, our champion held up against the pressure to emerge victorious. Congratulations to our 2025 Women’s Club Champion, Onti Rosen! This is Onti’ s fourth club championship victory!

Congratulations to all our women’s champions this weekend:

Women's Senior Champion: Kirsten Sandman (88-81 – 169)

Women's Super-Senior Champion: Elaine Wang (85-85 – 170)

We have completed our Men’s Club Championship. As the men prepared for an epic battle on the course, the competitive atmosphere was as overwhelming as the heat. The pressure grew so intense as the leaders made it to the back 9 that you could cut the tension in the air with a knife. Members and spectators gathered on the back patio to cheer home the final groups. Congratulations to our 2025 Men’s Club Champion – Matt “Lefty” Steele! After finishing runner-up a couple of times the last few years, Lefty finally earned his chance to etch his name into Glendale history. Great playing, Lefty!

Congratulations to all our men’s champions this weekend:
