The Edward Haimsohn Design Award recognizes manufacturers who are producing outstanding and original products that excel in the following areas: - Design Aesthetics- visual appeal of the design, scale, proportion, combination of elements or finishes, etc.

- Creativity- demonstrate creativity and originality through design, use of materials, aesthetics, and function.

- Consumer Relevance and Appeal- the judges interpretation of whether the product will have real consumer appeal (perceived value and desirability of look and function).

- Use of Materials- how the materials used relate to the design, ingenuity, sustainability, and practicality.

- Manufacturing Execution- the overall quality of production, including attention to detail, material quality, and workmanship.

- Functionality- how well the design functions for its’ created purpose.
