Outdoor fitness equipment – ready to go!

If you like the idea of exercising in the great outdoors, you can head along to the Beerwah Sportsground for a free workout on their new equipment.

The sportsground committee is pleased to see people of all ages testing themselves on the six stations that provide a total of 12 different fitness activities. Committee member Helen Weil said there was definitely enough variety to give a full workout in one location, incorporating a sit up bench, sky $26,640 funding runner, step up, dip station, chest press, a leg for the equipment press, fit rider, a rowing machine, skier and a back from Get Playing massager.

"The equipment is located behind the main building at the sportsground not far from the barbeque area. It is free to use and available to all in the community," Helen said.

The project was undertaken with the assistance of $26,640 funding for the equipment from Get Playing Places and Spaces, a state government grants program, ans the sportsground committee provided about $12,000 for the softfall rubber flooring surface.
