Warm and sunny Las Lagunas Sim is the inspiration for my new line of vintage ladies sun wear fashion designs. Even as a student at Fashion Institue of Technology in New York City, Art Deco and the 1920s are my favorite era culturally. n the 1920s tropical resorts were for women of all ages -- a “stockingless heaven�.

It was life without tight corsets, or stockings, or long hair. What freedom of movement. How very sportif yet modern!

Sonia Delauney An influential artist of the 1920s was Russian born Sonia Delauney. Together with her husband Robert, a frenchman, they founded the art movement Simultanism. Simultanism regards color as a major element in the creation of form and movement. This theory of color is based on the perception of light when one color is juxtaposed next to others. Sonia used Simultanism in fabric design for fashions and interiors during the peak years of Art Deco style. Sonia created a trend in colorful geometric patterning and had her own boutique, Atelier Simultanie in Paris.
