Multivac Canada Inc., Brampton, Ont.-based subsidiary of leading German food packaging systems manufacturer Multivac Group, has reached an exclusive partnership agreement with Maschinenfabrik LASKA GmbH, a leading global manufacturer of mixers, grinders, emulsifiers, bowl cutters and complete production lines based in Traun, Austria, for the sales and support of the full LASKA equipment range across all of Canada. According to the company, the addition of LASKA brand equipment to Multivac Canada’s portfolio extends its application reach into the primary processing end of food production lines, especially within the meat industry. In other company news, Multivac Group has completed the acquisition of its remaining minority stake in TVI Entwicklung und Produktion GmbH, a leading German manufacturer of portioning machines (picture on left) used in meat processing industries. Part of the Mulivac Group since 2017, the company’s extensive product range comprises advanced processing solutions for tempering, freezing, pressing, portioning and automating, as well as for winding grill sticks and producing kebab skewers. “TVI will continue to remain in future an autonomous company within Multivac,” says group president Christian Traumann. “By acquiring the complete holdings of TVI, we are underlining the strategic importance of TVI within the group as an essential component for the further alignment of Muultivac as a complete supplier of packaging and processing solutions.”

Global metal packaging products group Trivium Packaging has picked up two Excellence in Quality Awards of the

International Metal Decorating & Packaging

Association (IMDPA) in recognition of exceptional quality and precise consistency in the pursuit of decorating and packaging excellence. In the competition’s Aerosol & Bottle category, Trivium’s U.S. operations were awarded the Best of Category distinction for the Gen Z brand water bottle—a 16-ounce refillable and recyclable container showcasing the brand’s colorful graphic and fun images. “Throughout this project, the Trivium team was fantastic to work with,” says Neil Mellers, founder of GEN Z Water in Fayetteville, Ark. “Special thanks to our account managers for taking the time to walk us through the process and ensure our design looked great on the bottle.” Also, Trivium’s French business packed up the competition’s top Award of Excellence for the Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc brand bottle—a 300-ml container holding Mont Blanc’s thermal water, renowned as an effective remedy for repairing, soothing, and moisturizing atopicprone skin. Launched to coincide with the release of Hollywood’s animated blockbuster movie Frozen II, the container was picked on the basis of superior utilization of metallic inks to

match the marketing expectations of the product’s brand-owner.

Cincinnati, Ohio-headquarted packaging machinery group ProMach has completed the acquisition of CL&D Graphics, Hartland, Wis.-based provider of high-quality flexographic and digital web packaging and converting solutions for consumer product companies, including its CLD Digital subsidiary. Founded in 1979, CL&D Graphics specializes in manufacturing rollfed film and pressure-sensitive labels, shrinksleeves, pouches, lidding, and pre-printed thermoform solutions to CPG (consumer packaged goods) companies across North America. For its part, CL&D Digital spcializes in manufacturing of short-run, production-quality prototypes and promotional samples to help brand-owners bring their products to market quickly. “ProMach is always looking for new and unique ways to bring more value to our customers,” says ProMach president and chief executive officer Mark Anderson. “The CL&D acquisition changes the narrative for many of our clients in the flexible packaging space who want a single-source partner that can

Protective packaging products group Pregis LLC has acquired Danco Converting, Carol Stream, Ill.-based producer of paperbased packaging products for industrial, foodservice and distribution packaging applications. “Danco has been a strong converting paper partner to Pregis for many years, providing the materials are used in conjunction with our Easypack paper void-fill systems,” says Pregis president and chief executive officer Kevin Baudhuin. “With the continued growth experienced by our paper systems, it was a natural next step in our evolution to vertically integrate the process by acquiring such a well-run, successful converting partner to help us achieve our goals.”

Tekni-Plex, Wayne, Pa.headquartered manufacturer of medical devices and consumer packaging components, has completed the acquisition of Keyes Packaging Group, Wenatchee, Wash.-based supplier of protective packaging products for the food-andbeverage industries, notably molded-fiber trays for the packaging and shipping of apples, avocados, eggs and wine bottles. “Adding Keyes to the Tekni-Plex Consumer Products family gives us a boost in our overall efforts towards providing additional sustainable solutions to our customers,” says Eldon Schaffer, chief executive officer of the Tekni-Plex Consumer Products division. “Together with the recently acquired Grupo Phoenix capabilities, “we are building a tremendous future for the market, our customers and our employees.”

Motion Industries, Inc., Birmingham, Ala.-headquartered distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) replacement parts and a prleading provider of industrial technology solutions, has completed a US$1.3-billion acquisition of Kaman Distribution Group (KDG), a leading power transmission, automation and fluid power industrial distributor and solutions provider with operations throughout the U.S. Headquartered in Bloomfield, Conn., KDG employs about 1,700 people manufacturing electro-mechanical products, bearings, power transmission, motion

control, and electrical and fluid power components to MRO and OEM customers, with a client base in excess of 50,000 customers.

Leading Italian packaging machinery manufacturer Marchesini Group has acquiered a 70-percent stake in Dott. Bonapace, Milan, Italy-based supplier of laboratory machines used for medical R&D (research-anddevelopment) applications and small-scale industrial production of pharmaceutical consumables such as suppositories and capsules.

Systems (Kongsberg PCS), Norwegian manufacturer of digital cutting equipment solutions for packaging, signage and display manufacturing applications, has completed the acquisition of MultiCam, Inc., a prominent U.S. manufacturer of CNC cutting solutions for diverse applications ranging from sign-making and digital finishing to thermoform trimming and plastics fabrication. “MultiCam has extraordinary market reach with its range of CNC routers, laser, plasma, waterjet and knife-cutting machines,” says Kongsberg PCS president Stuart Fox. “Our businesses coming together to drive best-in-class cutting and finishing processes will deliver a tremendous advantage for our global customer base.”
