he World of Concrete returns to Las Vegas from January 17 to 20, 2022, and will feature the latest technologies for concrete applications, special events and its robust concrete education program. WOC 2022 is playing host to a variety of outdoor competitions to put your skills to test, including the 2022 Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 World Championship, MCAA’s Masonry Skills Challenge and Fastest Trowel on the Block, Spec Mix Toughest Tender and Western Star Trucks’ Get Tough Challenge. PLANITOP 13 Planitop 13 is a new, easy-to-apply polymer-modified and fibre-enhanced repair mortar with corrosion inhibitor that is designed for interior and exterior, vertical and overhead repairs. CONNEX allows users to digitize 100 per cent of paper tickets and automatically reconcile material and haul tickets with invoices. It can validate that the user is paying for what they receive, speed up payables processes, and let them know each day what they are spending on materials and transportation. The main features of CONNEX are: to track project job costs daily for materials and transportation; know materials spend rates; ease invoice reconciliation and expedite payments; and to digitize and automate paper-based processes. The Control Speed Vibrator (CSV) from Minnich Manufacturing is a lightweight, durable, electric flex shaft 15-amp (115-volt) concrete vibrator controlled through connectivity. Using Bluetooth and the Minnich app on an iOS or Android device, operators can choose between set speeds of 6,000, 8,000, 10,500 and open vpm. MILLER FORMLESS Miller Formless provides various types of slipform concrete paving machines. The most common features are John Deere engines (M-series) and Kubota engines (C-series), as well as the MFSmart Control Stringless system in the M-series products. he Canadian Concrete Expo will be returning to The International Centre in Mississauga, Ont. on February 17-18, 2022, with its biggest show yet after a hiatus in 2021 due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. The 2022 show will feature 300-plus exhibitors spread across 250,000 sq. ft. of show floor. The show is expecting more than 6,000 attendees at the 2022 show after the 2020 show experienced a 30-per-cent increase in attendees compared to the previous year. “It has been realized by a lot of exhibiting companies that by having the break due to COVID where they couldn’t do trade shows for two years, the real value of these shows has shown through,” says Stuart Galloway, president of the Canadian Concrete Expo. “Demand from our side has been really high. We’re excited to showcase a great variety of products for concrete applications.” Educational sessions are also returning in full swing with more than 40 sessions, presentations and live demonstrations to showcase how the latest products and best practices can enhance operations. “We’re looking forward to a fabulous show and were very optimistic that’s going to be well attended and very successful to all,” Galloway says. Canadian Concrete Expo is the only national trade show in Canada dedicated to the concrete, aggregates and construction industries.
