Dear Friend,
Last year was an amazing year as Giving HOPE set a record in dollar amount of food distributed and hot meals cooked We distributed over 13 million dollars of food and cooked over 300,000 hot meals We completed the HOPE House in South Africa where kids that live in squatter cities can now attend school and babies given up for adoption have a place to live
In 2022, we finished the Pakistan Water Well Project, where we put 100 water wells in Eastern Pakistan along with a new Giving HOPE Education Center These kids will now have a chance to drink clean water and get educated on Christian values The 2022 Giving HOPE Gala had a record year as Willie and Korie Robertson spoke about being God’s hands and feet
Women of HOPE Unite raised a record amount of money for its HOPE for Children Christmas Bazaar They blessed 45 children and partnered with several organizations to help children in need We hosted our first Giving HOPE Marriage Retreat in Destin, FL where 30 couples got to hear strategies on how to improve their marriages.
The Giving HOPE Community Center had an incredible summer as it hosted several hundred children for its Vacation Bible School programs The Good Shepherd School is under renovation as they plan to start their first class in 2023 Thrive has done an amazing job in vocational grants and training for CDL opportunities
1
The Giving HOPE Retreat Center had another incredible year as more men are getting off heroin They generated over 1 2 million dollars in work programs Men are getting healed from drugs and finding purpose to become all that God is calling them to become
We acquired over 95,000 dollars in goods to be distributed through the local churches with CityServe This year we expect that number to be over 1 million dollars in goods
In 2023, we are officially opening a new food pantry in Hawaii and also opening other food pantries with our partnerships in Los Angeles and San Diego We will also host three Giving HOPE Galas! In August, we will have the ribbon cutting of our new HOPE House in Ukraine. This will be a facility where families who have lost everything can get sponsored by Christian families throughout Europe and start a whole new life
We are so excited to see all that God is doing with Giving HOPE A calendar of events for 2023 is in this report showing you all the exciting outreach events this year We have seen transformations of families who come together and serve the less fortunate. Please visit our website at www givinghopenola org to get more information if you would like to volunteer My wife always says, “Find the injustice that angers you or the passion that inspires you and that is what God is calling you to ” Make 2023 the greatest year of your life by serving others because you can be a miracle for someone else as you wait for your miracle
We love and appreciate you

LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
I am pleased to share our 2022 Annual Report with you Last year, we proved again that we are better when we work together Your volunteer commitment, program partnership, and financial generosity are why Giving HOPE had a record year
In this report, you’ll learn that despite global supply chain disruptions, we distributed over 7 2 million pounds of food and served over 320,000 hot meals to our senior community and families through The Giving HOPE Food Pantries We also distributed hundreds of clothing and furniture items to families last fall through CityServe Greater New Orleans and local church partnerships.
In this report, you’ll be reassured that youth and families remain a top priority Thrive New Orleans, through its Thrive 9th Ward pillar, made the Giving HOPE Community Center a safe space and resource for Desire-Florida youth and families Women of HOPE Unite had a record HOPE for Children fundraising year, the proceeds of which will be leveraged to support and empower New Orleans youth We also dedicated our eighth HOPE House project in partnership with Impact Africa: a preschool and baby rescue center in Johannesburg, South Africa
We look forward to celebrating our tenth anniversary and milestone moments with you, too:
Giving HOPE Hawaii and San Diego food pantry expansion
Giving HOPE Community Center partnership renewal with Thrive New Orleans CityServe International Ukraine Crisis Center partnership
Giving HOPE Good Shepherd School launch
Compassion outreach emphasis through local church partnerships
What you won’t read about in this report are the unquantified moments They tell us there is so much more to do The “thank you” from people waiting three hours before our pantries open because of New Orleans’ persistent hunger and poverty issues A mother’s answered prayer for a bed, furniture, and food because she and her son were sleeping on the floor of an empty apartment The food and toys given to families and children ravaged by December’s tornado - ten days before Christmas. A man’s testimony of how Thrive’s workforce training programs hosted at The Giving HOPE Community Center changed his life
You make Giving HOPE a platform through which churches, businesses, education institutions, the nonprofit sector, government, civic leaders, philanthropists, and everyday citizens with extraordinary convictions collaborate and connect needed resources and opportunities to those who need them We remain incredibly thankful for your partnership and look forward to fulfilling our simple mission with you in 2023

In 2022, the Giving HOPE
Food Pantry met the needs of over 3,000 households consistently each month from two food pantries in New Orleans and supplied nutritional hot meals to 500 senior citizens 5 days a week. We are proud to say Giving HOPE has expanded our services to Kaneohe, Hawaii assisting kupuna (elderly) and families with disabled children fighting food insecurity. We held our official Grand Opening of Giving HOPE Hawaii on January 13, 2023. We're learning that more and more people are living in poverty and seriously fighting food insecurity across the United States. Giving HOPE will continue to open pantries wherever God leads us and continue helping those in need of our free food assistance services. Wherever God sends us to do our part to 'Stomp Out Hunger,' we will go.
