Journey trough the shadow

"What is a shadow? It is a dark area that occurs when an object blocks light rays." “Shadow is closely related to light. Shadow and light are opposites and opposites of each other, yin and yang. Together they form one of the fundamental duali es of the universe: They are opposites who need an opponent to show their true nature. From William Vaughan's "The Wonder of Shadows" - "Introduc on":

An inner journey. When you take a photo, the image, the result, represents a scene, a person, an object, something that belongs to external reality. However, it is known that in a photo the personal characteris cs of the person taking the photo also manifest themselves, consciously and unconsciously. His emo ons, his thoughts, his state of mind. It's something truly magical. From this point of view I have always considered photography as a way of knowing myself. What has always fascinated me is black, shadow, the contrast with light, the struggle between these two elements. A contrast that also symbolizes the unconscious and dark part of each of us. The one we o en fear and try to avoid. The shadow must be simply observed. What is hidden "literally" comes to light and many of our nightmares and fears vanish... a bit like Count Dracula who is incinerated and dies when faced with the light. The difference is that the shadow does not die but transforms. The shadow is our hidden wealth. This short book is only a small part of the material I have available and contains the essence of my idea. I wanted to represent the observa on of the shadow as a dark and "separated" part from ourselves and the progressive awareness of what we hide which finally leads to inner s llness.
About me My name is Giulio Sangiuliano . I was born and live in Naples. Graduated in economics . Since I was a child I have had two main interests: art and spirituality. In par cular music, which I have studied for a long me, literature, photography, surrealism. I am also passionate about oriental disciplines and religions and esotericism. Since 2016 I have started taking photographs constantly again. I think it's a perfect tool for knowing yourself and observing the beauty of the world and others.
