Giulio Fagiolini I was born in Sondrio and lived there until the age of 19 when I decided to move to Milan to continue my studies. I started from product design, that a little at a time has moved towards communication, leading to the choice of a communication design degree course, focused in typography and information graphics.

Chain Reaction POLITECNICO DI MILANO Density Design lab 2011 / 2012

This poster’s aim is to show the chapter about ecosystems of the 2007 IPCC Report by visual representation.

The upper part is a representation of consequences of the climate change over time in different ecosystems.

The lower part is a net representation of the actors, the flows and the relations between different ecosystems in the climate change adaptation process.

DamAge POLITECNICO DI MILANO DENSITY DESIGN LAB 2011 / 2012

This digital research aims to analyze the situation that affects several similar dams throughout the world. We have at first identified the controversy over the Three Gorges Dam; then ten dams with the same features, located throughout the world, have been identified as well as involved actors have been identified.

The key for reading the research is the comparison among the data. The geographical locations of the sources have been taken into consideration so that we could make graphical views that would help better reading the matched data.

All this was done to try to answer the question: “Which is the network of interests that is created around the system of dam in the world, once enlighted the Three Gorges Dam problems?�

A look at the world of scientific research through the filter of technology.

Realization of a magazine made ​​up of self-produced interviews on “ Technology and Scientific Research”.This work considered visual representation of data and concepts as a technology itself, that’s why we also interviewed many leading names of infographics, design and art. The cover, written in chinese, was made to symbolize the difficulty to understand something without the correct code, and was made with a chinese erasmus student.

Il Paese delle Storie INDIPENDENT PROJECT 2011

Realization of the coordinate image of a literary event. The cultural event took place during a weekend and in three different location at the same time. The main focus was on tales, for both children and adults. The italian name of the event means “The Hamlet of Tales� .

Extralibro is a guerrilla project that wants to revaluate the public image of the book.

Trough installations we wanted to create new kind of perceptions of the literary opera, sensorializing the book. Once identified in the cover the surface of interaction of the book, we decostructed and re-edited the communicative aspects, extroflecting the book into surrounding reality.

Starting from this we have chosen to get in contact with people and develop a relationship strarting from the annoyance, seen as a step that needs to be overcome. It is an instrument of awakening of consciousness. The nature of the stimulus is used to enter the life of the individual and the reality of every day.

Ventidue POLITECNICO DI MILANO LABORATORIO PROGETTAZIONE 2008/2009

Concept and design of a 22m2 living box for two people. The module can be picked-up on a truck like a container but it is only 60 cm high. The assembly is studied to be executed by only two people. The furniture is placed in the empty spaces of the closed living-box.

ZipUp POLITECNICO DI MILANO CHIMERA SPA ELABORATO DI TESI 2009/2010

The project consists of a playing carpet for children, born to follow their childhood until 8 years hold. The carpet can trasform in a small sitting for the conduct of games and readings. The object can also be rolled up when not in use, greatly reducing its bulk. The structure consists of a frame of cardboard and a felt cover, everything is closed by two zippers.

Magadà longskates INDIPENDENT PROJECT 2011

Construction of decks for longboards by laminating wood and application of glass fiber or fiber composite. Magadá is not simply the creation of a longboard but a larger project, still in its infancy. Magadá: three italian boys who want to enter longskates production with their hands, and with their heads, taking into account the area’s identity from which they come from, Valtellina. The name was inspired by the mangled name of a witch who was said to haunt Valtellina woods in past centuries.

Altachiara POLITECNICO DI MILANO LABORATORIO METAPROGETTO 2008/2009

Altachiara is a modular bottle projected to be producted as a limited edition by Venini, and which is meant to contain precious grappa from Friuli distilled from Nonino. It is a bottle composed by two different part to mount together: a sphaeric basis provided with a hollow in which can be put one of the three different colored test tubes, each of them containing different kind of grappa.The user can therefore change the outfit of the bottle every moment.

A school project which goal was to realize a photorealistic rendered 3d model of a sport accessory using Autodesk Alias. The bycicle pump was photoshot, sketched, measured, built in 3d environnment and then rendered. On the left, the photo; on the right, the rendered model.
