The site is located infront of tin Alley and the landscape is enclosed due to the buildings around it; especially the Redmond Barry Building which towered on the east side of the site. The site is also covered in numerous trees and bollards. The terrain of the site is relatively uneven; based from observation, it is caused by the roots of the trees.

It is a brick basillica which reflects the Gothic brick style of churches in the Baltic region.

This Century

Architect: Frank Lloyd Wright Date: 1908 - 1910 Photographer: Dan Smith The house is a reflection of ideal modern American prairie home.

It is made using red brick with yellow mortar, only several parts are built using steel beams for structural support.

The opening on the wall is estimated roughly 20%. Various methods are explored to achieve the final design.

Several individual bricks are left empty intentionaly to create small openings. The small openings are clustered together creating dynamic patterns.

Large openings are created by using 75 x 8 Flat Bar lintel. The large opening are used to reduce the visual mass of the wall. Furthermore, the large openings reliefs the effect of wind towards the wall; this provides stability considering the height of the wall.

Roof crease is capped so that water would not seep in.

Roofing overhang further outside of the deck. Thus, users can also be sheltered despite being outside of the deck.

The verticality of the roof borrows the shape of the brick wall.

Gutter is capped on this side, preventing water from falling onto the deck.
