Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways is chartered by Girl Scouts of the USA to administer the Girl Scout program in 24 counties of New York and two in Pennsylvania. We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. We offer every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success. We are dedicated to serving our council membership. Your support stays local and gives girls across our region the opportunity to experience the magic of Girl Scouting.

Thank you for another year of supporting our girls as they grow into young women of courage, confidence and character! Here at Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, we have access to powerful mentors, like you, who encourage our girls to try new things, take risks and explore uncharted paths.

We remain committed to delivering excellent programming and experiences to expose girls to STEM, entrepreneurship, the outdoors, life skills, the arts and much more. Our annual Impact Report reflects just some of the many accomplishments, wonderful programs and innovative ways we delivered the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to our members during 2019.

A few fun and exciting highlights from the 2018-2019 member year include: • Planning for construction of our very first Solar STEM Lab/Classroom at our Amahami Adventure Center in Deposit, NY • Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of our council during a beautiful weekend at Wellesley Island State Park on the shores of the St. Lawrence River with absolutely amazing attendance (not to mention the many attending raccoons!)

Members at Large

• Moving our annual cookieWOW! event to the Syracuse University Dome during an SU Women’s Basketball game; the images of all our Girl Scouts sitting in the bleachers watching these amazing Division I female student athletes were picked up by ESPN and the YES Network and shared all over the country!

• Going on a hot air balloon ride over Jamesville Beach in Central New York with our top cookie sellers (a bucket list item for me!)

• Recognizing the 17 girls who earned their Girl Scout Gold Award, the Highest Honor in our Movement

• Making dramatic physical improvements to our four camp properties, including updates to the buildings, beachfronts and trails

2018-2019 was a very strong member year for our council. Volunteer and girl satisfaction were high; our girls attended and complimented our council and community partner programming; and our wonderful volunteers and staff worked hard to recruit and retain girls. Today, in 2020, we face a new world. This time will be challenging, but I’m confident we will grow through this and come out even stronger!

What is a Service Unit?

Service Units (SU) are managed by and made up of many dedicated volunteers working to build the Girl Scout experience.

SUs provide program and training support to co-leaders and troops in specific geographic areas. SUs meet several times throughout the year to share ideas, receive training, and talk about important announcements.
