Join Nurture Nature Center in Easton to learn what it takes to grow a beautiful urban community garden. Learn about the design and planning stages of a community garden, how to grow, nurture and care for plants, and how to save your own seeds to grow for next spring. Make sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty as you discover what the garden has to offer! *Completes requirements towards the Junior Gardener badge.

Gain a unique perspective of the Lehigh River as it flows through our valley, the diverse ecosystem that depends on it, and the fascinating history that surrounds it. Bikes and canoes are provided for you. If not attending with a troop, individual girls must be accompanied by an adult for supervision purposes. Bring a bagged lunch to enjoy along your journey. Come to this planning event for Autumn Adventure and Spooky Waters, where you’ll learn specific details about your volunteer role and help prepare for the big day. Volunteer roles include leading a sing-along, face painting, group guides, leading arts and crafts, and designing

Gather your pony-loving friends and come out to Wood Haven to enjoy an afternoon of pony-themed fun. Play pony games, create a pony art project, groom a horse, and take a short ride. No previous riding experience necessary, as this is an introduction to horses. This program is open to girls in a troop as well as individual girls. Individual girls must be accompanied by an adult.

Hoo Can See at Night?

Learn about different nocturnal animals all around us! Find out what unique characteristics make them able to live, move around, and find food at night.

Tour the center after hours, enjoy a live animal presentation, and take part in a nature scavenger hunt after dark. Bring a flashlight and something to sit on as most activities will be outdoors. Activities

can be used towards Night Owl, Animal Helpers and Animal Habitats badges. If not attending with a troop, individual girls must be accompanied by an adult for supervision purposes. *Includes hot cocoa and a snack.

Spend time warming up your body and exploring different styles of dance, from ballet and tap to jazz, hip-hop and salsa. Learn how to choreograph your own dance and perform in front of an audience with confidence! *Includes Dancer badge.

Creative Strength SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 9AM–5PM The Crayola Experience 30 Centre Square, Easton Grades: 2–3 Cost:

Engage your mind, body, and soul at the Crayola Experience! Get a jump-start on your day with some yoga. After feeling refreshed, jump right into the fun as you explore 25 exciting attractions that combine color, chemistry, and technology.

Watch a live theater show on how crayons are made, and enjoy hands-on activities as you draw, paint, and create marvelous Model Magic sculptures. Girls will be assigned a yoga time along with their confirmation about two weeks prior to the event. Please bring a towel or yoga mat. The film presents remarkable stories of girls from nine countries, confirming the message that girls can change the world. Discover the challenges faced by girls living in developing countries and learn how girls are overcoming barriers to their education in spite of cultural obstacles. Following the screening, we’ll discuss ways to take action about issues presented in the film and create a public service announcement. *Includes snack and event patch.

Come learn more about how cars work and how to maintain your own from a female mechanic! This workshop gives you the knowledge you need to feel empowered and in control of your car. A Girls Auto Clinic technician will guide you through practical and easy to understand lessons designed to answer your questions about cars. Learn how to tell if you need new brakes, why there are letters on the side of your tire, how to jump start a car, what to do if your car overheats, and what’s under the hood.

Students from Alvernia University’s Science Association will guide you in hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations. Have a sweet tooth for science? Explore the crazy world of chemistry through a look at candy, get a glimpse into the microscopic life of a biologist, and explore a crime scene like a real detective! *Includes an event patch.

Spend the afternoon at Whispering Pines Family Farm enjoying all that the farm and fall have to offer. Take a tour of the pumpkin patch and spend time with some of the farm animals. Learn about different types of pumpkins and gourds being grown on the farm as well as the growing process from seed to harvesting.

You’ll even get your own small pumpkin to paint and take home! *Completes Steps 1 & 3 of the Gardener badge.

Come to Mosey Wood and celebrate the fall! Stay in cabins with other troops and enjoy crafts, hiking, games, and more.

Celebrate all that is fall at GSEP’s annual Halloween festival! We’re taking Spookless Ridge on the road to Camp Laughing Waters for an afternoon of Girl Scout fun.

Come together at the all-camp fire circle for a rousing sing-along, then hike through camp to activity stations run by older Girl Scouts. You’ll paint a pumpkin to take home, explore fall nature, and dance at the DJ-led dance party. See how far apples can fly when you go “apple chunking” in the sports field, have your face painted, and take a silly photo in the photo booth!

If not attending with a troop, individual girls must be accompanied by an adult for supervision purposes. Rain or shine.

This will be a scare-free event. For some Halloween fun with a spooky atmosphere, Brownies should attend Spooky Waters later in the day.
