CAROLINE SOECHTING

I am a Texas State University graduate, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, and a double minor in Mathematics, and Sociology, achieving multiple honors and awards for academic excellence both in the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts. Always wanting to work in the luxury fashion industry, particularly at the intersection between science, sustainability, and fashion, I made the jump from Physics to Fashion and embarked on my journey at the forefront of the industry by joining the Neiman Marcus Group. I began in the Executive Development Program, a prestigious and highly selective training initiative with an acceptance rate of less than 3%, that prepares future leaders in the luxury fashion realm.

Having successfully completed the program, I now contribute as an Assistant Buyer, actively engaging in the selection, procurement, and distribution of luxury fashion products, keeping in mind the Neiman Marcus Group's sustainability goals in every fashion selection.

While going from Physics to Fashion was quite a big jump, I have leveraged my academic background in materials science and used the analytical skills I acquired during college to make impactful contributions to the fashion industry, particularly in the areas of sustainability and textile sciences. I’m grateful to be a part of the fashion industry during such a pivotal time, and hope we can connect to share, inspire, and encourage the big changes happening within the industry!
